Team Behind Hurt Locker Sues 5,000 BitTorrent Users
In one of the biggest lawsuits against individuals ever, Voltage Pictures, the team behind Hurt Locker, has filed a lawsuit against 5,000 BitTorrent users for illegal file sharing.
Hurt Locker was technically a success, winning six Academy Awards, but it was a distinct disappointment in the box office, grossing less than $17 million. Voltage Pictures sees a connection with the not-so-impressive box office numbers and the fact that the movie was leaked on BitTorrent six months before its official US release in theaters.
