This Summer, Remember Green is Good with Sunkist Valencia Oranges

This Summer, Remember Green is Good with Sunkist Valencia Oranges

This is a Sponsored post written by me on behalf of Sunkist. All opinions are 100% mine.

Gossip Roundup: Lady Gaga Being Sued Over Japan Relief Effort Wristbands (and More!)

Lady Gaga is being sued for $5 million by Michigan-based 1-800-LAW-FIRM over her “We Pray For Japan” wristbands. The wristbands were designed and put up for sale on the pop icon’s website in order to raise money for relief efforts after the 8.9-magnitude earthquake and tsunami that hit Japan in March.

Each wristband was sold for $5 plus $3.99 for shipping and handling, and 60 cents for taxes. According to the lawsuit, Lady Gaga allegedly inflated the cost of shipping and handling in order to make a profit from them. Apparently when 1-800-LAW-FIRM attempted to contact the Lady Gaga camp, they were told ‘Well, some of the money is being retained, but we don’t really know how much.’

Ari Kresch, who is an attorney with 1-800-LAW-FIRM states, “I’m suing Lady Gaga simply to hold …

Low-Income Prepaid Users Face Higher Fees

Millions of poor Americans who use prepaid debit cards could soon face higher fees. Under a rule to take effect in July, companies that issue debit cards must reduce the fees they charge retailers. To recoup their lost revenue, companies that offer the cards are raising fees for people who use them. Unlike banks, these companies can’t replace lost revenue by selling investment advice or adding checking fees. One of them, Green Dot Corp., has said a drop in interchange rates will likely cause them to raise fees.

Shortly After the 40th Anniversary of the War on Drugs Comes Historic Legislation to End Marijuana Prohibition

On June 2, the Global Commission on Drug Policy released a report that called for a major change in global drug policy. Not being the type of folks to tell governments what they should change without telling them how, they also included some pretty bold recommendations for how this change could be achieved, including experimenting with the legalization of marijuana, putting an end to drug policies being driven by ideology and politics, and directing resources away from arresting and incarcerating people for drug law violations in such large, sweeping numbers.

The War on Drugs, declared by former President Nixon where he called for the full prohibition of marijuana and other drugs, turned 40 last week. To tie in with this anniversary, …
