9Lives Advanced Nutrient System Review and Cat Lovers Prize Pack Giveaway [Closed]

This giveaway is now closed.

9Lives If you talk to anyone who has a pet, or if you have one yourself, you know very well how close you can feel to your pet in a seemingly short amount of time. With that being said, I really, really love my cat.

Her name is Devin, she is a mostly-black Tortoise Shell with hues of brown going through her and she is gorgeous. She has been with me for almost four years now and it has been great seeing her personality develop and come to terms with the fact that I am not the ruler of my own house because as anyone with a cat knows, they very much do as they please, when they please and if you don’t like what they’re doing, well, that’s just your problem. Devin is very true to that statement and I also often wake up to her batting me in the face with her paw not because she’s hungry, because she has had food every time I have woken up at an obscenely early hour because of her, but because I think she just thinks I should be awake.

Obviously, my connection to my cat is a very strong one and I think rather highly of her, so I was pretty excited when MyBlogSpark informed me that they were working with 9Lives to spread the word about feline nutrition.

When 9Lives recently surveyed “feline pet parents” (How much do you love that title? I know I do.) they found that 94% of people who had a cat were confident that they fed their felines the most nutritious meals possible. They also found that 48% of feline pet parents fed their cats table scraps an average of seven times per month and that 30% of people surveyed knew that giving cats milk may not be healthy for their cats due to the common incidence of lactose intolerance in adult cats. Furthermore, 23% of people believe that it is healthy and beneficial for cats to be kept on a strictly vegetarian diet, however, that may actually be harmful because vegetarian diets do not provide cats with the nutrients they need for a long, healthy life.

The 9Lives survey found that 92% of feline pet parents would switch cat foods if it would improve their cat’s health and 91% would switch food if they could add years onto their feline’s life. That’s where the 9Lives new Advanced Nutrient System comes in, a cat food that contains essential nutrients cats need to help promote healthy skin and coat, strong muscle growth, a healthy immune system and heart and clear vision.

I had the opportunity to let Devin try out the 9Lives Advanced Nutrient System Daily Essentials dry food, which I received from 9Lives through MyBlogSpark. I also received a magnetic picture frame, pet food scoop and cat toys. She seems to really like the dry food, there is no change in how much or little she eats as opposed to her food prior to 9Lives and I will definitely continue to give it to her. Devin has always been on the small side; I think she must have been the runt of the litter and I was very concerned about her not putting on much weight although she eats very normally. Our vet explained that Devin is just small and will most likely stay small, but she’s very healthy and I like knowing that the food she is given is completely balanced and full of all the right nutrients.

Devin also very much enjoyed her new cat toys. One in particular has pretty much become her go-to toy and it’s probably because it’s a toy full of catnip. She has been playing with it so much that I couldn’t help but take a little video of her.

  1. I have a 9 month old kitten she is black with a white patch on her chest. She is so loving and playful and I love her dearly.

  2. I buy nine live all the time. I have four cats! I would love to try this new cat food for my cats! Great giveaway!
I liked you on facebook and I learned that the nutrition they put in the 9 Lives Indoor Complete (which I never see at the grocery store) helps their digestive tract on indoor cats like mine for easy litter box cleanup!

  3. My cat will get up and knead on me when I first lay down and it feels like a massage right before I go to bed. πŸ™‚

  4. I have 2 kitties, Precious who is very affectionate and demanding for the affection. And then there is Trouble. LOL she is exactly what her name says. She was born the runt of the litter and I fell in love with her. She was always a fighter from birth till now, she loves to play all the time and get into things she knows she is not suppose to. I love my little kitties.

  5. There are 2 cats here. Rat-a-tat-cat and Jake. Im really busy today but Jake gave me the evil eye until I posted this. Please pick us so that he stops nagging me!

  6. We have two kttens that got this summer. Destiny is now 4 months old and Derby is now 3 months old. The have become best buds and love to wrestle, play, run, and curl up for a nap together. The keep us laughing!

  7. I learned that cats can naturally produce many of the amino acids they require, but 10 essential amino acids must come from the diet. 9Livesβ„’ uses quality protein sources to help support strong, healthy muscles.

  8. I have catS. Lucky, Abbott, Victor, Wallis, Mama, Bob, Max,Tooti-Frooti, and Tiny. They are all ‘Barn Cats’. That means they keep the rats away from my barn, feed, and chickens. No, they do not bother the chickens! We even have a Rooster that joins them when I feed them in the mornings and in the afternoons.

  9. I don’t have a cat because my one son is allergic to them. But my sister in law has a cat named Razz..he is a beautiful orangish /white color cat…just as friendly as they come

  10. oh, mo. what a cat he is. he is HUGE- mammoth. but such a lover. we rescued him from the human society- he had been transferred from another facility, and it was his last chance to find a home. he is a sweetie.

  11. My sweet kitty is Serengeti. She is grey with a white undercoat and black stripes. Serengeti is about 6 years old and we got her as a present for my daughter when she was chosen as a student ambassador. She is very loving and affectionate. We lost our older cat earlier this year and this would probably cheer her up. She misses our old Tom cat.

  12. Hi on this super fine Friday night! πŸ™‚ Well, I have a little old lady of a cat named Kitty, which, yes, I know, is quite original. Alas, she only seems to tolerate me for the food. LOL And right now, she isn’t even near me, but on a chair all the way in the front of the house all curled up. Sigh. Anyway, she’s around 14ish, and we got her from an adoption shelter. Before I went there, I was a dog person, after, don’t bug me with no dogs. LOL

  13. I have four fuzzy friends of the feline persuasion. We live in a place that has no shelter for these fuzzies so I’ve taken some of them in. Puff ,my oldest, is 7, I found her when she wasn’t even old enough to be away from her mom. The stray hanging out next door had kittens but for some reason rejected her. I fed her just like a newborn, every 2 hours. She bonded with me. She’d sleep in the robe and I’d have to slip out of its sleeves to get things done. Everyday Puff greets me with the kitty equivalent of Hello, what’s on the agenda today. she swats your feet as you pass by if the food, water or the attention she wishes isn’t immediately forthcoming. Puff is the alpha female of the group. she came first and she lets everyone know it. The second kitty is Spot. Spot is my only male. I’d hazard he’s around 4-5. He’s a big baby when he’s inside. His favorite place to be is someone’s lap or chest. He’s had a somewhat rough time adapting to the dog in the house. His favorite home though is outside despite my best efforts to convince him otherwise. (I always make him come in after 5pm because I worry he’ll get hit by a car). When Spot is outside he’s a hunter. We’ve received tributes of snakes and birds. We’ve had to contain him inside to feed a gray stray that was hungry enough to come in the yard from time to time. He doesn’t like other cat’s on what he considers HIS turf. The third cat is Pirate. She’s about 2. She’s the sweetest, most affectionate and least contrary. She loves to cuddle with my youngest on the weekends when we pull out the sleeper bed. She also loves it when she’s allowed to go outside with the boys but seems content to be an indoor cat(unlike Spot who meows at the top of his lungs if you try to contain him). Oh and she LIKES the dog. The best poor Puppy gets from the others is tolerance or outright distaste but Pirate actually will lie near him. The baby is Panda, short for Pandora. She’s not really a baby, just a pudgy midget. Panda loves to play. There isn’t a person in the house that doesn’t have teeth or claw marks from Panda. Her and Pirate will happily bat a milk container ring around the kitchen that didn’t quite make it into the trash. Panda also adores Friskies Party mix(also known as kitty crack in our house.) Panda is my fuzzy alarm clock. Every morning around 6 Panda practices kitty dermabrasion with her tongue on my nose. She’ll do this until someone gets up to give her party mix to get 15 more minutes of sleep in. Panda likes to sleep between my husband and I. Sometimes Puff(who resides at the end of my bed nightly)even lets her. when she manages to get her way she purrs and purrs and purrs.

  14. I cat-sit for seven
    Cool cats from heaven!

Each is so stunning and unique,
And I look forward to each week…

    How wise the cats are
    They watch from afar
And they play and they sleep
And they find me to keep
    Them company, if they please,
    Then off again they go…
They’re the best animals I know!

  15. Our neighbor has several cats that we feed for them when they go away. They are sweet cats, plus she feeds neighborhood feral cats that have been properly neutered or spayed and assemble at their house. I would love to win a bag of food for them to use.

  16. I liked you on facebook and I found that nutrition be put on the full deck 9 Lives (which I have never seen in the supermarket) helps your digestive system of indoor cats as mine for easy cleaning litter box!

  17. I have two cats, Lara, who is very affectionate and very demanding for affection. And then there are problems. Myca is exactly what its name says. She was born the youngest of the litter and I really liked it. It was always a fighter from birth until now, he loves to play all the time and getting into things he knows are not supposed to. I love my little kittens.

  18. We have 3 cats that we love dearly. They’re all spoiled rotten, even moreso now that our 18 month old son has started giving them treats. His latest phrase is “Down, Simba, down!”

  19. i have a solid white cat and she is beautiful, she has one blue eye and one green eye, unusual i know. she is the queen of this house.

  20. I have two cats, Frankie (13) and Diesel (7), they are the loves of my life, besides my dog, Monster. We all live under one roof and for the most part, it is animated!
