I am Addicted to Entrecard

May 23, 2008 by Holly

Entrecard I had seen the Entrecard widget on a number of blogs that I visit regularly and since I am always on the lookout for new and interesting blogs to read, I figured that it couldn’t hurt to show some linky love while meeting new bloggers at the same time. What I wasn’t expecting, however, was acquiring a whole new addiction.

Entrecard is a community for bloggers that bring like-minded bloggers together. It helps you advertise on various different websites using a points system, so all of your advertising is completely free. You accumulate these points by accepting sites to show up in your Entrecard widget for a day as well as dropping your 125×125 banner, which works as your business card for your site, on other sites that will show up at the top of your dashboard on the site. It is a great way to build buzz as well as attract new readers and even make a few new friends. I have personally met some truly fantastic people through Entrecard as well as found some bloggers that I was already a fan of using it.

You can see the Entrecard widget in my sidebar. It’s an great program with a huge community of bloggers already using it. To sign up for Entrecard, click here and don’t forget to drop your business card on my widget. If you’re a fan of this site, you can always add this site to your favorites.

I’m addicted too! Especially since I have more than one blog. And I agree with you about finding new blogs. I find so many new and interesting blogs through Entrecard, it takes me forever to drop my 300. I always get distracted reading posts and leaving comments! Another thing I am becoming addicted to is Blogengage. It’s another way to get free advertising as well as discovering new blogs.

Thanks for the TIP - How does Google feel about Entrecard and how will they feel about it in the future.

    Thanks Again

I have had my moments of obsession with Entrecard, though I never reached that lofty goal of 300 cards a day-back when that mattered a bit more. It is fun and you do see a lot of blogs you would likely not see otherwise.

It is the newest craze on blogging and I think almost everyone is addicted. Have seen a lot of traffic go to my blog after I joined it.

When I first registered for entrecard, I am addicted too but gradually the addiction is slowing down and soon I am no longer using entrecard often and I don’t know for what reason.

Entrecard is definitely addicting! And it does generate A TON of traffic, that I like. It also does give me an opportunity to see sites I wouldn’t see otherwise, I’ve found lots of good stuff that way. It will however destroy your adsense revenue if you are trying to earn a little that way. All those visits without any clicks will leave you lucky to get a 2 cent ad. It also sucks the life right out of my blogging day getting drawn into these cool sites.

Entrecard is web crack. Ha ha, but seriously, it is a great source of traffic for new blogs…

I’m glad that you like entrecard. However I have generally heard bad things about it because it’s people “dropping cards” in order that they get more points. I really don’t understand the system completely but I’ll need to give it another look.

I’m becoming less and less addicted. It’s like a roller coaster ride with the price changes and the merges. I’m still in, but I feel that it isn’t driving anyone that sticks around lately… We’ll have to see…

I’m still a big fan of Entrecard. I used it to promote blogengage and it’s worked out so great for me! Overall for the regular blogger the drop rate is really bad but for me seeing bloggers are my target market it’s working amazingly.
