Alcohol vs. Marijuana [Infographic]

We all know the dangers of alcohol, and we have all heard about the dangers of marijuana, and especially its part in the modern-day prohibition that is our drug war, but with more states embracing medical marijuana, and with 17.51% of the American population living in a state that has legalized medical marijuana, we should definitely be asking–is marijuana really as dangerous as we have all been repeatedly told it is?

The following infographic compares the dangers of alcohol and marijuana side-by-side and features some really interesting information and statistics. Most compelling is the fact that according to the Harvard University Division of Experimental Medicine, the active ingredient in marijuana can actually cut lung cancer tumor growth in half. I think we have the official platform for medical marijuana country-wide right here.

  1. I have always been a supporter of medical marajana, but never so much as when my best friend, and sister in all but blood, got lung cancer. Thanks to the Marajuana, she had an appetite to eat, even though the chemo and radiation made her so sick she withered away to nothing. It’s the only thing that gave her the strength to fight.

    1. Thanks for sharing your story here. I am sorry to hear that both your best friend and sister had to fight for their lives against cancer, and I hope that the outcome was a positive one. It is fantastic that they had marijuana available to them to make their fight a little more comfortable, and that it helped.

  2. I knew that marijuana has medical uses, but didn’t know that it could actually cut lung cancer tumor growth in half! Interesting information here.

That’s a lovely infographic, btw. I’d love to know how to create one!
