American Idol is Ready for Their First Blonde Judge
As soon as news was confirmed that Ellen DeGeneres would replace Paula Abdul as a judge on American Idol, news has been buzzing about why she was chosen to be an American Idol judge, if she’s qualified to be judging the talent that will appear on the show in the upcoming season(s) and mostly, what does Paula think of Ellen taking over her chair?
Well we didnt’ have to wait long to see Paula Abdul do her very best Ellen impersonation while hosting VH1′s Divas Live. Although, for clarification, at the end of her “Ellen sequence” she did want to clear up any impending rumors (because she knew there would be a ton of them!) by saying ‘All kidding aside, nothing but love Ellen. I wish you the best of luck and congratulations on your new gig.’ Here’s the video of Paula as Ellen.
While the rumor mill has been buzzing about Ellen on Idol, she made it very clear on her show, American Idol is ready for their first blonde judge.

At first I thought American Idol made a mistake when they chose Ellen. Paula was appropriate because she had been in the music industry both as a performer and as a behind the scenes choreography and as a celebrity. She was best equipped to offer advise to the candidates.
Ellen is a gifted performer and actress but as much as she loves music I do not think her advise to the candidates can be as relevant as Paula’s advice.
Don’t get me wrong, I am not a big Paula fan, after AI success she has turned into an ungrateful diva. But they could have found another aging performer that had similar qualifications and work experience to give to the candidates.
It was interesting to read, thanks a lot! I will continue to read your blog, though not all the information I need.
Love Ellen, I think she’ll be a great addition to American Idol.
