Barbara Walters Plans Daytime Talk Show for Male Audiences

Barbara Walters We’ve known for a little while now that CBS is planning a daytime talk show with Hollywood moms that is being developed and co-produced by Sara Gilbert and while ABC has the very popular The View, they also have a little something extra up their sleeves and it’s being planned by Barbara Walters.

ABC is currently developing another daytime talk show to take the place of Oprah when it goes off the air. The difference between this new talk show and the already-airing The View, which Walters is a part of, is that this show will be made up of a male panel and targeted towards a male audience.

The male-themed The View will be using a new set of celebrity panelists, said to include former Today host Bryant Gumbel, comedian Alec Mapa, former BET news anchor Jacque Reid and former Fox News personality E.D. Hill.

This concept could potentially go over well, considering the current daytime television lineup is targeted predominately toward women. Do you think the potential co-hosts of the Male The View could bring in the audience it needs to stay afloat?
