Biovea Pet Prize Packs Giveaway Event — 2 Prizes, 2 Winners [Closed]

Vincent and Devin

I have always been a pet person. Growing up, our household was always made complete by pets. We had fish, a Savannah Monitor lizard, and a Rottweiler that looked like she could take your arm off, but once you actually came into contact with her, you realized just how well-behaved and totally lovable she was. She was a lover, not a fighter. My grandmother and aunt also always had cats, and still do. While I still love dogs and would really like to adopt a puppy someday, my fiance and I became cat people about 7 years ago when we walked into a pet store on a whim and saw one lonely cat sitting in a cage. This cat started meowing as soon as we walked by the cage, purred so loudly as soon as I put my hand in the cage to pet her, and then began meowing even louder when I walked away. I wouldn’t leave the pet store until my fiance agreed that we could take her home with us.

And so we did.

We named her Devin, after calling her Peanut Butter Head until we came up with a name we could agree on, and she has been with us ever since.

Then, about 3 years ago, we were asked if we would take in an 8-week-old kitten who needed a home. Of course I said yes, and so Vincent joined our little family. Vincent is the cat on the left in the picture above, and Devin is on the right.

I think that pets make humans better. It has been proven that interacting with an animal for just 15 minutes increases the serotonin levels in our brains. Pets make people happier, and mine have definitely done that for me. They are my little babies, and spoiled as such.

As much as I love my dog, I’m definitely more of a cat person. Cats are more independent and thus a little easier to care for. Plus, I personally think that it’s easier to have a multiple cat household than it is to have a multiple dog household.
