Nickelodeon Floam and Gak Review

Nickelodeon Floam and Gak Review

I was a child growing up in the ’90s. I was raised with Nickelodeon programming (commonly referred to as “good Nickelodeon”) and the words ‘slime’ and ‘Gak’ still bring a nostalgic smile to my face. Well, I guess that smile is nostalgic no more because Gak Is Back and this past weekend, I was able to introduce my two stepdaughters to both Gak and new Nickelodeon Floam. We had an absolute ball!

It is particularly difficult to explain what Gak is, other than saying you have to hold it and play with it for a few minutes to fully understand. But because you’re reading this and I can’t just plop a handful of it into your hand, I can explain by saying it is a stretchy, squishy substance of an incredibly unique and unusual texture …

Gaddy Nipper Crayons Silly Swirls Snowflakes Review and Giveaway

Gaddy Nipper Crayons Silly Swirls Snowflakes Review and Giveaway

Gaddy Nipper Crayons are a bit unlike the crayons we’re all used to; they were created by a mother of two who found a creative and fun way to recycle old, used, and broken crayons by melting and re-molding them into fun and cute shapes that will amuse and occupy your young children.

I had the opportunity to receive a package of six Silly Swirls Snowflakes crayons from Gaddy Nipper Crayons. They arrived ready for gift-giving, packaged in a clear cellophane bag with a small handful’s worth of festive red paper confetti and tied with a red and green holiday ribbon. The set includes six different snowflake shapes and colors, including red, orange, purple, yellow, green and blue. While there are similarly-pigmented colors mixed each snowflake, giving …

Encouraging and inspiring girls to develop and live a healthy lifestyle is incredibly important and the knowledge girls and young women rely on for that development has been proven time and again to start early. From the mainstream media’s insistence on showcasing stick-thin women on billboards, in magazines, and on television to the severe lack of full-figured role models in the media are enough to start the negative self-talk in girls very young. I am a huge advocate for giving girls and young women the tools and knowledge they need to build strong self esteem and the ability to appreciate themselves for who they are without wishing they were like someone else, so when I saw Go! Go! Sports Girls, I was …

Children’s Crafts: Easy DIY Treat Bags and Pillsbury Doughboy Pumpkin Carving Template

Children’s Crafts: Easy DIY Treat Bags and Pillsbury Doughboy Pumpkin Carving Template

Halloween treat bags for children to carry through the neighborhood to collect their candy and goodies in on Halloween night are being sold in pretty much every store imaginable, but why spend money on treat bags that will only be used for a few hours out of the entire year? It can be just as much fun for children to decorate their own treat bags as it will be for them to collect candy in them Halloween night.

Start with a plain brown paper bag. Use a hole puncher and some simple twine or ribbon as a bow, you can fold over the top of the bag, punch it with a few holes, then weave the twine through the holes to seal the bag. Gather some simple arts and crafts supplies your child …

Barbie: A Fashion Fairytale Review

Barbie: A Fashion Fairytale Review

When I was a child, I remember sitting on my bedroom floor and the bedroom floors of my friends playing with Barbie dolls for hours upon hours; I would transform entire rooms into Barbie dream houses of my own, dress and accessorize my dolls and it never got boring. There wasn’t a line of super awesome movies though, and now that I see what they’re coming out with, I have to admit that my inner child is a tad jealous.

My four-year-old stepdaughter is crazy about Barbie, so I was pretty excited about being given the opportunity from MomSelect to review the new Barbie DVD Barbie: A Fashion Fairytale.

This movie takes on the genre of a modern-day fairytale and is all about fashion. Barbie and her dog, Sequin, visit her aunt in Paris …
