Turns out these two have been friends for over a decade, and suddenly the unmistakable chemistry we saw in (500) Days of Summer makes total sense. You can also see it in this video they recently made of them performing a duet of “What Are You Doing New Year’s Eve?” on the ukulele and guitar.

After being told that he would have to wait to use the restroom on an airplane, due to the plane still being on the tarmac, Depardieu proceeded to urinate on the floor of the passenger cabin. In all fairness, I have found myself, on more than one occasion, in a desperate situation that called for my immediate attention to relieve my bladder at all costs. “At all costs” could very well be urinating on the floor of an airplane in Depardieu’s case. However, that’s just the detail of this story; the context of it, anyway. The real story is that while Anderson Cooper delivered his pee pun-laden tangent about the case, the reporter came down with one severe case of the giggles on air, much to the enjoyment of myself, and just about anyone who has seen the video clip.

During an interview with a reporter from reason.tv, Damon defended teachers and the work that they do all over the country. He even went as far as to speak to the cameraman, who had jumped into the interview with a statistic that 10% of teachers are “bad” and that 10% of people in any profession should have made a different career choice. Damon retaliated with, “Well maybe you’re a shitty cameraman, I don’t know.”

Matt Damon has never been one to shy away from sharing his opinions on a whole host of a social and world issues and I have to say, every time he does, I think I like him more.

Betty Ford, the former First Lady and wife of former President Gerald Ford, died Friday evening of natural causes. She was 93 years old and was surrounded by family at the time.

To say that Betty Ford was an inspiring woman would be an understatement. She was a strong, hardworking, dilligent woman. She was honest, upfront, and unapologetic in her views; qualities that led many to criticize her throughout her time as First Lady. Perhaps most amusing was when many conservatives were calling for her “resignation” in the mid-70s after she appeared on 60 Minutes for a candid interview where she spoke about the possibility that her children may have experimented with marijuana.

Betty Ford is most known today for co-founding the Betty Ford Center. In 1978, she was treated for alcohol and prescription painkiller abuse. Afterwards, she went on to become a tireless advocate for substance abuse treatment. The Betty Ford Center has gone on to become one of the world’s premiere addiction treatment centers in California and many celebrities have fought treatment at the facility, including stars like Elizabeth Taylor, Anna Nicole Smith, Ozzy Osbourne, Lindsay Lohan, and Drew Barrymore, among many others.

Betty Ford was also very vocal when it came to social policy and political activism. She was an outspoken advocate and prominent force in the Women’s Movement of the 1970s. She supported the Equal Rights Amendment, and was proudly pro-choice. For this work, she appeared on the cover of TIME magazine three separate times and was named Woman of the Year where she appeared with other feminist icons who represented and fought for the rights and equality of American women.

Each wristband was sold for $5 plus $3.99 for shipping and handling, and 60 cents for taxes. According to the lawsuit, Lady Gaga allegedly inflated the cost of shipping and handling in order to make a profit from them. Apparently when 1-800-LAW-FIRM attempted to contact the Lady Gaga camp, they were told ‘Well, some of the money is being retained, but we don’t really know how much.’

Ari Kresch, who is an attorney with 1-800-LAW-FIRM states, “I’m suing Lady Gaga simply to hold her accountable for giving the money that she was raising for charity to the cause that she was trying to raise it for.”

Katy Perry and Michael Jackson are about to have something in common. Yes, really. The popstar who has seemingly done everything in her power to make boobs be seen more as dessert is about to reach Michael Jackson’s record for having five No. 1 hit singles from one album.

So far, Katy Perry’s songs “California Gurls”, “Teenage Dream”, “Firework” and “E.T.” have all reached the prized number one spot and her newest single, “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” has just reached the top five, so its rise to number one can really happen in no time at all. This is made especially true when you take into account that “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” has jumped 27 spots since just last week.

Charlie Sheen is now without his remaining “goddess”, 24-year-old porn star Rachel “Bree” Olson, after she dumped him through a text message.

Sheen’s work life, however, may actually be looking up. He has recently signed on to star in a new sitcom with Lionsgate Television. The sitcom is said to be a lot like Two and a Half Men and Sheen’s new character will apparently be a lot like his Charlie Harper, but “a lot racier.” There is currently a bidding war going on for the sitcom where TBS is the front runner, which may actually work out perfectly. TBS is a cable channel and therefore they can put the likes of Charlie Sheen on their network in an incredibly raunchy and outrageous sitcom without fear of much backlash. Charlie Sheen also stands to make more money than he has made ever before with this new deal:

“Lionsgate Television will produce the show. They have committed to ten episodes up front with the option to pick-up and produce 90 more episodes if the ratings prove to be successful. This means the sitcom could be on TV for 8 years, which is a long time! It also means that Charlie will make more money than ever before!”

Despite its weak box office performance and falling 66% over the weekend, Warner Bros. does have plans to pursue a sequel to Green Lantern. While the movie has made $89.3 million, it also took $200 million to produce before marketing and the studio has reported saying that they are “somewhat disappointed” with its reception by fans and movie-goers. Nonetheless, they have high hopes for the franchise.

Cameron Diaz has a bone to pick with the school system nowadays. In a recent interview, she said that if she hadn’t made it big as an actress, she would have loved to have been a teacher and because she loves to cook and clean, would want to be a home economics teacher. But she presumes that there wouldn’t be many teaching positions available to her in the subject, going on to say:

“But they don’t teach kids that anymore. They don’t teach stuff that you can actually use in life. You learn stuff like algebra instead. So now we eat out all the time and don’t know how to look after ourselves. It’s all wrong.”

While some may chime in with the benefits of learning algebra, I remember the first year I had to do my own taxes and went on a wild tangent about a course on how to correctly file your taxes would have been much appreciated in school.

The currently-untitled show will chart Bristol Palin’s journey of moving from Wasilla, Alaska to Los Angeles with her 2-year-old son in order to work at a charity. The show will also feature Palin’s former Dancing With the Stars costar, Kyle Massey, and his brother Christopher, whom she will live with. Wondering where that confusion-inducing spin came from? Well, according to the small cable channel BIO (formerly The Biography Channel), who has ordered ten half-hour episodes of the show, the three have become “best friends”.

The show is set to premiere in late 2011, nearly an entire year after her mother’s reality show, Sarah Palin’s Alaska was cancelled.

A BIO executive has said about the show, “[Bristol's] personal life has been playing out in the media for several years but this will be the first time she’s opening up her real life, with her son and her friends the Massey Brothers.”

What I want to know is why someone who made $262,000 for her work with The Candie’s Foundation in the last year has to have two roommates, even if they are her “best friends.”

In other Bristol Palin news, the picture above has been circulating throughout the past few days and everyone keeps asking, did she get some major plastic surgery done or is her new face the product of some sizeable weight loss?

After 25 years of marriage, former Governor of California Arnold Schwarzenegger and Maria Shriver have separated. Shriver has been living away from their Brentwood mansion for the past few weeks and have confirmed the separation in a joint statement that was released Monday, saying:

“This has been a time of great personal and professional transition for each of us. After a great deal of thought, reflection, discussion and prayer, we came to this decision together. At this time, we are living apart while we work on the future of our relationship.”

“We are continuing to parent our four children together. They are the light and center of both of our lives. We consider this a private matter and neither we nor any of our friends or family will have further comment. We ask for compassion and respect from the media and the public.”

A representative for Whitney Houston confirmed on Monday that the singer is currently undergoing treatment in an out-patient program for drug and alcohol treatment. It has not been said where Houston is undergoing treatment, but it was confirmed that she had voluntarily entered the program about 10 days ago as part of her “long-standing recovery process.”

Whitney Houston has battled problems with drug addiction for years and this will be her third stint in rehab that we know about. She had previously entered rehab in both 2004 and 2005.

It has also been speculated that Houston is cleansing herself to get ready for a new movie. More breaking news to come?

Alicia Silverstone and husband Christopher Jarecki’s days-old baby boy has already become a trending topic on Twitter. Silverstone announced the birth of her first son on her website, saying “My husband [Christopher Jarecki] and I welcomed our 7 lb 15 oz baby boy Bear Blu Jarecki into the world on May 5th at 7:50am (PT). We are all three in love!” Within just two hours of this announcement, Bear Blu Jarecki has millions of people tweeting about him, mostly to poke fun at his name. Nevertheless, the amount of hype attained is impressive for an announcement coming from the actress whose most notable role to date is the 90s flick Clueless.

Lionsgate announced Monday that Stanley Tucci has been cast as flamboyant talk-show host Caesar Flickerman in the film version of Hunger Games.

This delights me to no end. I will shamelessly go on record and say that I will watch anything if Stanley Tucci is in it. There is just no such thing as too much Stanley Tucci in the world. Plus, when it comes to “flamboyant”, is there an actor out there that can pull that characteristic off like Tucci can? No, no there is not.

Hunger Games is due to be released in theaters next March.

Charlie Sheen has been “winning” the internet one step at a time and he now has an official home on the internet.

CharlieSheen.com was launched late Friday night and contains very little. Merely a unique rant video, his Twitter stream, T-shirts for sale and a link to purchase tickets for his new mini-tour. Yes, a mini-tour, where a number of lucky folks who were online in time to score tickets will be able to be witness to Charlie Sheen’s rants in person; because videos and Sheen’s Korner just isn’t enough!

Charlie Sheen’s “Violent Torpedo of Truth/Defeat is Not an Option” show made Ticketmaster history by selling out in just 18 minutes. TMZ has been told that Sheen will be adding additional tour stops some time in the near future. To celebrate this accomplishment, Sheen tweeted, “Fastball; Detroit/Chicago sold out in minutes… Thanks to Sheen’s Cadre…! #WINNING c”

Being fired from “Two and a Half Men” by Warner Bros. Television doesn’t seem to be having such a negative effect on Sheen after all.

It seems the people at Warner Bros. Television are none too pleased with Charlie Sheen‘s behavior as of late, not to mention his new Ustream show, Sheen’s Korner. Charlie Sheen has officially been fired from his show “Two and a Half Men”.

Warner Bros. Television sent the producers of “Two and a Half Men” a letter [PDF] informing them that Sheen was fired, saying:

“Mr. Sheen’s ongoing conduct, statements and condition are grounds not only for suspension of Mr. Sheen but also for termination of the Agreement under Paragraphs 12, and/or 13 of the Agreement. … WBTV hereby exercises its right to terminate Mr. Sheen’s Agreement and/or his employment under it. To the extent notice of termination is required, please consider this letter as providing such notice.”

A source at Warner Bros. has stated to TMZ that no decision has been made on whether the show will come back.

In the typical Charlie Sheen fashion that we have all come to expect at this point, Sheen is actually pretty happy about being fired by WBTV, saying:

“This is very good news. They continue to be in breach, like so many whales. It is a big day of gladness at the Sober Valley Lodge because now I can take all of their bazillions, never have to look at whatshiscock again and I never have to put on those silly shirts for as long as this warlock exists in the terrestrial dimension.”

Yeah. And for Charlie Sheen’s next magic trick, he is suing “Two and a Half Men” creator Chuck Lorre and Warner Bros.

I guess Warner Bros. is with the trolls.

When I saw this video of John Mayer arguing with actor Justin Long, however, I couldn’t help but snicker a little bit. Yes, voicing your support and the reasons behind that support for a politician could be a good thing, but when you’re reduced to yelling your support at someone, well, that doesn’t do much for either person in that conversation.

Note: This video is old. Like, really old. It is, however, just as hilarious now as it was a few years ago.

Infertility is a huge hurdle for a lot of women. In fact, 1-in-8 couples of childbearing age experience fertility issues, making up about 7.3 million people in the United States alone. Regardless of the number of people infertility affects, it remains a reproductive health issue that still has a good amount of stigma attached to it, and some of that stigma is in fact internalized self-critique by the women affected by it. It is not uncommon for women to believe that there must be something “wrong” with them on a deeper level than just having a health issue when they are having trouble getting pregnant or when they experience a miscarriage. That is why it is so important for more people who are and have been affected by fertility issues to speak up about them and create a safe and encouraging dialog for others.

Giuliana and Bill Rancic are a couple who are very familiar with fertility issues. Giuliana, a news anchor for E! and Bill, an entrepreneur and The Apprentice season one winner, have been sharing their story of trying to get pregnant in intimate and explicit detail on their reality television show, Giuliana & Bill, which airs on Mondays at 8PM ET on the Style Network. The couple has also recently joined RESOLVE and the National Infertility Association, a non-profit organization with the only established, nationwide network mandated to promote reproductive health, and Fertility LifeLines, a free and confidential educational resource that provides information and support to people with fertility health concerns. The interview was a lot of fun to watch because Cher is just hilarious. She’s an entertainer, of course, but seeing her in an interview setting is especially great because she cracks jokes, she laughs at herself–and at David Letterman–and she doesn’t take herself too seriously. That quality alone interests me the most when it comes to celebrity interviews.

A good portion of the interview, while entertaining on Cher’s part and also a little more serious in part, was awkward to watch on David Letterman’s part. For one, it was uncomfortable to see just how confused David Letterman seemed to be about the whole concept of gender identity on the topic of Chaz, and how it does not designate a person’s sexual orientation. I kept wondering if perhaps he was trying to get the sometimes necessary clarification for his viewers who may not be as well versed as others on the topic, but after watching the clip multiple times, I still don’t know, and if there’s one person who should not seem overly awkward and make the viewer feel uncomfortable as they watch something, it’s the host.

And the verdict? Lindsay Lohan was sentenced to rehab until at least January 3, 2011 and will not be going back to jail. Well, not this time, at least. At the time of sentencing, the judge said to Lindsay, “You are an addict. I hope you understand that. I don’t want another train wreck.” Lindsay nodded her head in agreement.

Lohan is due back in court on February 25 and between the time she is released from rehab and her court date, she will be subject to drug testing. If she does not test positive for drugs or alcohol during that time, her sentence will be converted to unsupervised probation.

Celine Dion is pregnant with twins that are due in November with husband Rene Angelil. People magazine has recently confirmed that Celine Dion has been checked into a medical center in West Palm Beach, Florida to prevent the early delivery of her babies. According to the recent statement, checking into the medical center is “the standard of care for any patient with twin pregnancy in this clinical setting.”

Bosley took up acting after serving in the Navy during World War II and in 1974 was cast as the wise patriarch of Happy Days. He also played a prominent role in Murder, She Wrote as Sheriff Amos Tupper and from 1987 to 1991, he played the title character in Father Downing Mysteries.

After learning of Bosley’s death, Ron Howard, who played Bosley’s on-screen screen Richie Cunningham in Happy Days told PEOPLE, “Tom’s insight, talent, strength of character and comic timing made him a vital central finger in the Happy Days experience. A great father and husband, and a wonderful artist, Tom led by example, and made us all laugh while he was doing it. My last conversations with Tom reflected the love of life and peace of mind that he always maintained throughout his full and rewarding life. I miss him already.”

Henry Winkler told TMZ, “I saw him before I ever got to Hollywood on Broadway and he was great. And then I got to act with him for 10 years and he was great. Tom Bosley was our mentor, he was a true artist … a great husband, and a fabulous father and grandfather. He will be sorely missed, but never forgotten.”

Whitney was recently interviewed by Sunny Gold, magazine editor and founder of HealthyGirl.org. Whitney’s interview gives a deeper look inside the modeling world where the models are not sizes 0 through 6. We also learn why Whitney went on America’s Next Top Model and the reason for that is simple–she wants to change the fashion industry.

While she is a spokesperson for the National Eating Disorders Association, she has not been personally afflicted by an eating disorder in her life. That does not mean that she doesn’t know why people develop eating disorders or what certain parts of a person’s life can contribute to that compulsion. It’s very easy to see how the media affects people, primarily young girls when it comes to how they see themselves when they are being told what they should look like every time they look at a magazine cover or see shows just like America’s Next Top Model and see the young women who are primarily one body type.

Whitney said in the interview…

“The reason I went on [Top Model] though, is because I wanted to change the fashion industry. Because it obviously affects people and the way that they view themselves. I mean, when the majority of all 9-year-old girls have been on a diet, we’re doing something wrong. And so, even though I haven’t been personally affected, it’s obvious that the industry is affecting people and it does make women feel bad about themselves, or worse.”

In a daring move made by a working model, Whitney came right out and said exactly what she believes the modeling world is missing–a soul. Having worked with a whole lot of model bookers since she was a young teenager (and quit because she was treated so badly until she competed on America’s Next Top Model), she voiced her experiences with model bookers and how models are treated.

“We get fed last, we don’t sleep, they treat you like nothing. When you think about it, everyone thinks modeling is so glamorous, but you don’t get to say what you wear, you don’t get to say how you look, what your hair color is, what length it is, where you live, what you do — you have no voice at all. And the bookers — because I was a straight-size model growing up in high school, and my hips were always one inch too big — and, yeah, you have 45-year-old men saying, “You’re too fat.” You’re a teenage girl. It’s really disgusting. It’s an awful industry and, yeah, there is no soul in modeling.”

Daring or not, Whitney doesn’t seem to be bothered by saying the wrong thing regardless of who she is talking to, saying that she would “rather be outspoken than the Chanel girl.”

Arenstein is being charged for possession of marijuana with intent to distribute. The plants averaged 8 ft. tall each and police estimate could produce a pound of pot each. In addition to the pot growing in his backyard, the Metropolitan Police Department confirmed that drug paraphernalia was also found inside of his home.

Firstly, I am very weary to assume that just because Arenstein is obviously in possession of approximately 11 pounds of marijuana that he is going to distribute it. What, in addition to highly respected newsman and recipient of the Edward R. Murrow award he planned to branch off from his career to become a drug dealer? No, I really don’t think so.

It’s possible that Arenstein was growing the marijuana for himself and for his personal use. When it comes to marijuana possession, I do not believe that it should be illegal in the first place and I think that incarcerating non-violent criminals on the basis of drug possession, especially when that drug is marijuana, is a waste of time. I wonder what is going to happen in the case against Arenstein, but either way the entire situation is going to receive some negative press either way. If he is incarcerated and given the same amount of time in prison that any other person on the street would be given in the same circumstances, we can look at it as being a waste of a jail cell because of the non-violent nature of the crime and if he is given a lenient sentence, if he is given a sentence at all, then we have yet another case of preferential treatment being given to someone because they’re well known. Either way you look at it, this just may be a messy situation all around.

Lohan was taken from court in a single sheriff’s vehicle and brought directly to the Lynwood Correctional Facility, where she was sentenced to 90 days in early July by Judge Marsha Revel. Lohan now has a brand new mugshot to add to the collection.

The decision to send Linday Lohan directly to jail from court was very shocking, not because she doesn’t deserve to go back to jail, but because it is California law for defendants in misdemeanor cases to be given the right to bail. Lohan’s lawyer Shawn Chapman Holley filed an appeal this afternoon asking Judge Patricia Schnegg, Assistant Supervising Judge for the L.A. County Criminal Courts, to vacate Judge Fox’s, which she did and set a $300,000 bail.

Under the terms of her bail, Lindsay Lohan will have to get her third SCRAM bracelet within 24 hours of being released from jail. She is also not allowed to be around known drug users, must stay out of places where alcohol is the “chief item of sale” and she must submit to search by law enforcement at any time.

As for when Lohan will be released from jail, give it a few hours.

Lohan’s hearing with Judge Elden Fox took place this morning and many “reputable” celebrity gossip sites, such as TMZ speculated that the hearing would be “short and sweet” where Judge Fox would remand Lindsay, set bail, a bail bondsman would immediately post bail and Lindsay would be free to walk out until another hearing was set for, again what was speculated to be next month.

The actual hearing did not go quite the way many thought it would. Judge Fox did not hear any arguments from the lawyers before making his ruling, denied Lindsay Lohan’s bail and she was immediately taken into custody.

Lohan wasn’t the only one shocked by the judge’s decision to take her into custody right there, where she was handcuffed and taken from court in a single sheriff’s vehicle and covered by a blanket. Because Lohan’s underlying offense is a misdemeanor, it was believed that the judge had to offer bail.

This story is still developing, but the official ruling is that Lindsay will remain in jail until October 22 when she will then have another hearing. Now how long will she actually serve? I’m sure there are thousands of people who have already started pools.

In most recent news about the parents of Tripp, Bristol Palin and Levi Johnston have finally reached a settlement in their custody case. According to the settlement, which was filed in an Alaska Superior Court, Bristol will get primary physical custody of Tripp and Levi will have visitation rights from 9AM to 4PM on Saturdays and 12PM to 6PM on Wednesdays. Levi has also been ordered to pay Bristol child support and although the sum of money was not stated, the agreement says the calculation is based on Levi’s earnings of $72,000 per year.

There is also a clause in the settlement stating that the parties are not to “speak badly about the other parent in front of the child … or allow anyone else to speak badly about the other parent or members of their family in front of the child.”

While the clause is important since I suppose these people are incapable of acting like civilized adults considering they are not yet fully matured as adults should be before having a child. I vote for this clause to be renamed the “Assume responsibility for your actions and act like a human being” clause, but that’s just me.

Now the next portion I have a little bit of a problem with. It goes on to state “The parties agree that they shall not allow the child to visit with, or interact with, any family member who publicly … or in front of the child, criticizes the other parent or the other parent’s family.

I have an inkling this clause was made up by Sarah Palin, since she is almost at the forefront, according to recent political surveys, of the GOP 2010 presidential candidates. She’s undoubtedly going to go for it and there is already quite the feud between the Palin family and the Johnston family; just take a look at Mercede Johnston’s blog that keeps getting more and more heated with rumors about how Bristol is insisting that Levi not speak to his family and never let them see his own son. This is a clause that I believe was written in order to keep a nice thumb over Levi and not allow the other side of Tripp’s family to see him so the Palins can flex their power a little more.

Of course, this is all up to interpretation and it is my sincerest wish that these two people can learn to exist and parent their child in a calm, mature and friendly way. I think Bristol will need to separate herself from the influence of her mother first in order for that to happen, though.

Well, if you’ve been wondering about Lindsay Lohan lately, your concerns will be addressed tomorrow morning as Dina Lohan sits down for an exclusive interview with Matt Lauer on the Today Show.

This will be the first time Dina Lohan speaks out publicly about Lindsay’s incarceration and court-ordered rehab, although we have heard a lot of hot air coming out of Michael Lohan’s mouth from the day of Lindsay’s court hearing until recently.

The Today Show airs weekdays from 7AM to 11AM.

An unnamed female inmate claimed that other inmates, including herself, “are strip searched in plain view of each other in a parking lot that is neither private nor sanitary.”

Attorneys for the plaintiffs filed a request in Federal Court yesterday to take a deposition from Lindsay Lohan while she’s staying at the Lynwood Correctional Facility. A letter has also been sent to Lindsay’s attorney Shawn Chapman Holley asking if Lindsay would agree to speak with them and give a deposition, but their letter has not yet been returned.

Lady Gaga has been pitched by a myriad of tea companies, but the company in the front running for acquiring Lady Gaga as a brand ambassador is Twinings. (Look, they’re already getting publicity just by being in discussions with Lady Gaga. It’s already paying off!)

Twinings was started in 1706 when they first started selling fine teas in England. They have grown over the past 300 years to selling more than 200 teas in more than 100 countries.

Twinings has made Lady Gaga a multi-million-pound offer to be the face of their specialist teas and they also have plans of launching a new tea with her face on it with a name like The Taste of Gaga. The Twinings tasters are coming up with a tea with an oriental flavor with the hope of marketing the tea to a younger generation, particularly in America, since Lady Gaga is said to be making drinking tea cool again.

This is actually a pretty cool idea and a good endorsement idea for Lady Gaga. I’m not sure about the name “The Taste of Gaga” just because it’s kind of, well, weird, but if they re-work the name a bit, it could work out very well for both Lady Gaga and Twinings, or whatever tea company that wins her over.
