Have a Child Ages 3 Months to 6 Years? They Could Appear on a Cover of Parents Magazine!

Parents magazine is currently holding their 2010 Parents Magazine Cover Contest; a contest I’m sure parents of adorable, wacky, cute and crazy kids ages 3 months to 6 years don’t want to miss out on!

Here’s the deal–from now until June 19, 2010 upload a favorite photo (or six) of your child to Parents.com. You can upload up to six different pictures, but keep in mind that they must be recent, meaning taken within one month of entry for children under one year of age and within three months of entry for children over one year of age. They also must be taken by the person who is entering the photo into the contest, meaning not by a professional photographer and the photo must be previously unpublished and may not have won any prize …

Hope Everyone Had a Lovely Easter!

Hope Everyone Had a Lovely Easter!

I took a wee bit of a break this past weekend to not only celebrate Easter with my family, but to also spend some much-needed time out with my partner. Between running Woman Tribune the website, the Facebook, the Twitter, trying to keep up on email (and I never seem to make headway!), as well as trying to post at least once a week on my other website, you can probably imagine that I have trouble finding the time to sleep, never mind go out and have a good time with friends; but that is exactly what I did this past weekend–and it was awesome.

Our Easter this year was pretty fantastic. We hid Easter baskets for the kids to find, got to see them go through their goodies when they did find …

Passover: a Very Brief Crash Course

Passover: a Very Brief Crash Course

This upcoming Tuesday is the first day of the eight-day celebration of Passover; a Jewish holy day and festival commemorating the Hebrews’ escape from enslavement in Egypt.

Foods that are considered sacred are the foods that represent the bounty of spring; foods like lamb, herbs, nuts, fruit, honey, egg and wine. The Seder plate is one of the aforementioned traditions and it contains the symbolic foods used by Jews during the Passover Seder. It contains spaces for each of the …

Celebrating 23

Celebrating 23

You may have noticed that Woman Tribune and all its bloggy-goddess-goodness has been pretty nonexistent these past few days. Usually when I go without updating about whatever is affecting the Woman Wide World around us all, chances are that I am hard at work on some aspect of this site or an expansion to our network. However, this week is an exception to the ever-in-place rule that Woman Tribune is the one-stop-blog for all important news and entertaining tidbits, because this week I have been celebrating.

Celebrating what, you ask? Celebrating me! Yes, I am fully aware of how arrogant that sounds, but I’ve said it before and I will definitely be the first to say it again–it is not arrogant when you realize that you are worth celebrating; that you’re worth what you truly desire in …

Tips for a Happy Family & Clean House During Your Summer Staycation

Tips for a Happy Family & Clean House During Your Summer Staycation

More and more families are spending what would be their summer vacations at home this year. Summer staycations are sweeping the country and while parents are looking forward to spending more quality time with their partners and their children, taking advantage of their neighborhood and attractions that are close by. However, spending more time at home also includes more planning, bigger messes, and more chores for everyone in the family.

The reason why so many families are having a staycation is undoubtedly due to the downward spiral of the economy. My partner and I both work from home; I run this website as well as one other website, I am also a freelance writer, and a professional web designer and developer. My partner is a professional guitarist/musician who also plays around with professional web design and development. …
