Butterfly Kiss Vibrator Review

August 17, 2010 by Holly
Filed Under: Love & Sex, Sex Toy Reviews, Vibrators

Butterfly Kiss vibrator I have read seemingly countless reviews of the Butterfly Kiss vibrator from a multitude of different reviewers with different sex toy preferences. I have researched, watched video reviews, read lengthy written reviews, and every time someone talks about the Butterfly Kiss vibrator, they have something very positive to say about it. When I had the opportunity to review this vibrator, thanks to the awesome folks over at Good Vibrations, I decided to give it a shot just because of all of the positive things I have heard about it. I officially believe all of the people who have written and said such amazing things about this toy are out of their minds.

I have never been so bored by a vibrator than I was by the Butterfly Kiss. It not only bored me, but I attempted to get myself very worked up with another toy and then use the Butterfly Kiss to see if I could get any pleasure out of it whatsoever and it actually turned me off. Every time I attempted to use this vibrator, it lasted a matter of minutes before it frustrated me so much that I couldn’t take it anymore and put it away.

The Butterfly Kiss vibrator is made of jelly and is 7 inches in total length with only 3 inches insertable length. Every single review I have seen of this vibrator, not to mention the product description of this toy, have mentioned how absolutely amazing this toy is for g-spot stimulation and I kind of feel cheated by the Vagina Gods for not blessing me with a g-spot located within the first three inches of my vagina. As I have mentioned before, mine is located very deep within me. Like, stick your entire finger in there and reach up and you just may be able to just graze the g-spot. Maybe. If you’re lucky. I need some serious length and 3 inches just isn’t going to do it. The jelly material makes this vibrator incredibly flexible and bendy, and is also kind of floppy.

I received the Butterfly Kiss in purple, although it’s looking more blue in the picture above. I assure you, however, it is very purple. If purple isn’t your thing, Good Vibrations also carries it in pink. The insertable tip of the vibrator is shaped very oddly. It is essentially a bulb that measures 1 1/4 inches in diameter and it tapers down into a much thinner shaft and then juts out to form the butterfly-shaped clitoral stimulator. Two very small antennas vibrator to provide stimulation to your clit and there are also two butterfly wings that vibrate against your labia. There are three speeds that you can cycle through by pushing one button at the very bottom of the vibrator. I can only think to describe the speeds as barely noticeable, semi-noticeable and noticeable but still not enough to provide you any real stimulation at all. Granted, it does take two AAA batteries, which are inserted at the very bottom of the vibrator by twisting off the plastic end, and I already know not to expect very much from a toy that takes AAA batteries. However, this was just ridiculously unnoticeable and boring and really, not enough to even get you worked up enough to want to stick it out. It just isn’t possible.

The product description on Good Vibrations’ website says that the Butterfly Kiss vibrator is waterproof and I’m inclined to believe them, but I don’t know how well it holds up by being submerged in water because I couldn’t deal with this vibrator long enough to even want to bring it to the tub with me.

I have not been so disappointed in a vibrator in a while. I’ve really disliked some vibrators, but this one just had me thinking “What could this possibly do for all of those people who have been raving about it for so long!?” After trying very hard to make this vibrator work for me, I’m inclined to believe that all of the women out there who have been saying nothing but great things about it are lying; I can’t think of any other excuse.

Jelly sex toys are pretty difficult to care for. They can melt if kept in humid areas and if they are kept unprotected with other toys, they can melt onto your other toys and ruin something you may actually like. Jelly cannot be sterilized or sanitized, so don’t share it. To clean, use warm water and toy cleaner or a very mild anti-bacterial soap. I usually let toys made out of sticky-like materials air dry because everything will stick to it and as soon as I see little hairs and fibers stuck to it, I need to clean it again and it just poses to be a vicious cycle, so air drying is good.

The Butterfly Kiss vibrator was a gigantic flop and I would not recommend it at all, to anyone. Even with its very inexpensive $18 price tag, I wouldn’t even recommend someone who is curious about it to pick it up and give it a try. I have no idea how the Butterfly Kiss vibrator has gotten so popular, but I firmly believe that this vibrator is so bad that it would even bore complete beginners. There are a ton of other, more-pleasurable and enticing toys out there in the same price range as the Butterfly Kiss.

Rapture No. 5 Anal Probe Review

Ophoria Rapture No5 Anal toys are a lot of fun–plugs, probes, dildos with safe, flared bases; regardless of the type of toy you use, anal stimulation will take your sex life to a whole new, wonderful, exciting and just plain spectacular heights. Personally, I’m a big fan of probes and it’s weird because I didn’t think I would be. On my quest for the perfect butt toy, I have tried a lot of plugs because I thought that naturally, they would lend themselves better to me being able to walk around with it effortlessly inside of me or have sex with it firmly inside without it slipping out. I was, however, mistaken.

The Rapture No. 5 comes in a modern, minimalist white cardboard box with a plastic see-through panel so you can see the toy inside. The box also works great to store the toy in for safekeeping and even after hanging out in my big box of toys for quite some time, the box doesn’t look worn at all. This plug is gorgeous; it is made by Ophoria and is extremely classy and amazingly great quality. It is made of 100% pure silicone and it is Phthalate-free and hypoallergenic and feels super soft and smooth to the touch. I received the Rapture No. 5 for review from the awesome folks over at Fascinations and I received it in navy, although it looks more dark purple than dark blue to me, and it is also available in charcoal, which isn’t nearly as pretty as the navy; at least in my opinion.

This probe is very firm, but flexible enough to feel comfortable against and inside you. It has five distinct, tapered bulges; the very top starts out small and is nicely rounded for easy insertion and it progressively gets wider. At its widest point, it reaches a diameter of 1.5 inches. What is a little different about this probe than most, most I’ve had experience with anyway, is that it does not have a flared base. Instead, it has a single finger handle that is big enough for anyone to fit their finger into and keep a great amount of control over the probe.

This is one of the bigger-sized probes I’ve had; because it gets quite wide by the third and fourth bulges, make sure to use a generous amount of lube with it. Speaking of lube, make sure to use only water-based lubricant because the Rapture No. 5 is made of pure silicone. A friend of mine asked about its ability to be used vaginally and before I received this toy, I was thinking the same thing. So when it arrived I attempted to use it vaginally first and because of the girth of the fourth and fifth bulges, it didn’t feel as pleasurable as I thought it would. I guess I’m not into bulges when it comes to vaginal stimulation because it just felt like way too much and very, very weird. I am keeping it mind that it could be an acquired feeling that maybe I’ll like as I continue to use it, but for right now, I’m really loving it as an anal probe. Oddly, the thickness of the bulges do not feel as weird anally. This makes me feel a little backwards in terms of what size toys are feeling more comfortable where. So, anally speaking, if you will, I love that when you work over the last little bit of the fourth bulge and into the fifth, the material is still super soft against you and it gave me just a little twinge of pain, but nothing I would actually classify as painful. It was just wide enough to make me feel full and fulfilled. I immediately fell in love with the abilities of this probe and don’t see myself getting sick of it any time soon.

Much to my surprise, the Rapture No. 5 allows me to have it in and walk around freely without it slipping out, granted it did take some time to figure out just how much lube to use to have it so it feels very comfortable in me, but isn’t so slippery that it just falls out without having to be held in. After you figure out the right amount of lube, you’ll be good to go.

G-Ki — The Easy Way to Find Your G-Spot

July 27, 2010 by Holly
Filed Under: Love & Sex, Sex Toy Reviews, Vibrators

Gi-Ki The G-Ki vibrator from Je Joue is an innovative luxury vibrator with some pretty lengthy aspirations, which make it full of little surprises and features.

Many people claim that the G-spot does not exist. I have always thought that the bulk of those people were men who just couldn’t find their lady’s G-spot. Then I think some scientists were also having a bit of a location problem (especially considering the G-spot is not located in the same place in every woman) and decided to conduct a study so they could prove the myth that is the G-spot. As soon as that “scientific evidence” came out, I believe that convinced some women that they didn’t have a G-spot and so the myth continues. But it does exist, I assure you, you just may have a little trouble trying to find yours at first.

While I have known the location of my G-spot for quite some time, I have been looking for a vibrator that could reach it, considering how oddly high it is. Seriously, it’s high, as in way up there, as in whenever I hear a sex educator or sex toy retail person claim that you can get a small toy and reach your G-spot because it should be located within 3 inches of your vaginal canal, I laugh and laugh and then after laughing, I laugh some more. I have had three vibrators specifically made for G-spot stimulation and out of those three, I have one that can reach it. Because of its high placement, I not only need something with a good upward angle, I also need something pretty long. I also like my toys to be on the thicker side, so as you can tell, I’ve been looking for quite a few features in one toy and you may be thinking I have set myself up for failure.

That is precisely why I was so interested in having the opportunity to review the G-Ki, which Babeland was so very generous to send to me for this review.

The G-Ki has received an immense amount of praise, but I wanted to know if it was receiving such positive reviews because it is a higher-priced ($99), luxury vibrator and the fact that it is made by Je Joue, the same brains behind the SaSi, which also received a great deal of praise, or if the G-Ki could really be my G-spot’s BFF.

The G-Ki is made of 100% body safe silicone, it has five speeds and pulsations, it’s waterproof and it has two spots where if you push the sphere down, it is easily adjusted for a more intense curve to hit your G-spot. It has a bulbous head that tapers down into a thinner shaft and depending on and how far you adjust your G-Ki for more of a curve, the base of the vibrator where the power buttons are located can sit against your clit and vibrate while you’re also stimulating your G-spot. Amazing concept! Bravo, Je Joue!

The G-Ki arrives packaged in a decorated cardboard box and inside that box is another, this one is black and super classy, tied with a ribbon.

G-Ki by Je Joue

When you open it up, the G-Ki vibrator is nestled in perfectly-fitting plastic and your user manuals and magnetic charger are underneath the plastic, which you have to lift up to get to.

G-Ki by Je Joue

When I first took the G-Ki out of its box, without ever using it before, I turned it on and felt the vibrations in my hand. I was impressed, delighted, excited and could not wait to get it inside of me. The vibrations felt incredibly intense, all five different pulsations and speeds. Terribly eager to see how my vagina would react to the vibrations I was classifying as “Oh yes, this is going to be awesome!”, when I did use it, the vibrations just didn’t seem as intense as they were in my hand, which I thought was weird because I would like to think that my vagina is a little more sensitive than my hand. Had all of my escapades with the Hitachi desensitized me!? I’m going to go with no on that one, if only because it makes me feel better. I know that I do need a significant amount of power behind a vibration and I like my vibrations to be steady, constant and yes, awesome. While the G-Ki did bring me to orgasm, I’m quite fortunate that it is a G-spot vibrator instead of merely a clitoral stimulator because the G-spot stimulation was great, while the vibrations leave just a little something to be desired.

I really like how soft the G-Ki is, I love that you can basically customize it to your G-spot and it did hit my G-spot with very minimal effort. The first time I used it, I squirted quite a bit which is always a great indicator that you’ve found a pleasantly effective G-spot stimulator. It wasn’t an all-time high on my ability-to-squirt meter (yes, I have a meter) but it was respectable. Each time I have used the G-Ki, I have squirted, except for one time when I used it in the bath tub, but I generally do not enjoy bringing toys to the tub and much prefer a book, but I wanted to test out G-Ki’s ability to hold up fully submerged. It did wonderfully and didn’t lose power in the least. The G-Ki is also incredibly quiet. I was really surprised by its ability to stay at a very low volume, safe to use in a room with the door closed without anyone ever knowing what you’re doing in there.

After much fiddling around with G-Ki’s ability to bend, I have tried every angle the shaft can lock into and the only real problem I have found with it is that I really, really wish the vibrator could sit on my clit without having to maneuver it in a way where I have to rock back and forth on it. There is a time for rocking back and forth on a toy, sure, usually it’s when I’m sitting at my computer working, which is always great fun and certainly makes the work day more entertaining, but when I am really in the mood for the squirting-inducing orgasms of the G-Ki and find myself mid-play and really want the vibrations on my clit, I have found that it just does not line up with me correctly. That was also a disappointment.

Overall I think the G-Ki is definitely something to look into if you enjoy your G-spot stimulation (and what woman doesn’t? Seriously.) Or if you believe that you don’t have a G-spot, because you do and the G-Ki will find it.

Find Your Perfect Sex Toy with MyPleasure — Aveline G-Spot Dildo and Vamp Dildo Reviews

July 9, 2010 by Holly
Filed Under: Love & Sex, Sex Toy Reviews

MyPleasure MyPleasure is not your run of the mill sex toy website. When you visit their website, you are not going to be immediately slapped in the face with pictures of dildos, pocket pussies and butt plugs and it may take you a few seconds to realize that you’ve stumbled onto a website that sells sex toys. MyPleasure, while it is a business, has chosen to approach the sex industry in a completely different way than what we’ve grown accustomed to. I immediately saw it as more of a magazine with a range of entertaining, informational and highly valuable features and resources clearly placed right in plain view where you can find what you’re looking for without getting lost in the website or having to click over into a handful of different pages to find exactly what you’re looking for.

On MyPleasure, you will find sex toys, quizzes and polls and a great hub of information about just about anything you want to know about sex education. It is because of this somewhat different, completely non-threatening approach to empowering people to explore their sexuality and to get acquainted with safe sex toys and the exponential benefits they can bring to one’s life that has caught the attention of high-reaching media publications like Men’s Health, Cosmopolitan, Women’s Health, and even Oprah, where MyPleasure has received an abundance of press coverage.

I recently had the opportunity to work with MyPleasure and to try out their new expert shopping tool that is guided by questions from sex therapist and Founder of MyPleasure, Dr. Sandor Gardos. The shopping tool lets you find your perfect sex toy by answering just four or five questions about what type of sensation you’re looking for from a sex toy.

Before completing the expert shopping tool, I looked through MyPleasure’s website to pick a toy on my own that I thought would provide me with exactly what I wanted. I made sure to receive no help from the expert shopping tool at all and I received no suggestions on what type of toy to choose.

Having just recently reviewed my first dildo and loving the sensation it provided, but really not loving the material and its lack of safety when it comes to an ultra realistic material that is extremely porous and cannot be thoroughly sterilized, I knew that there were better dildos out there that required less maintenance and wouldn’t leave me with a feeling of extreme paranoia when it came to cleaning. After looking through the selection of traditional dildos, I chose the Vamp dildo made by Tantus. The Vamp dildo is something I have had my eye on for a while now; having seen it pop up pretty much everywhere with great reviews, and the fact that it is made by Tantus, a manufacturer I have come to greatly enjoy, I thought it would be a great choice for me.

The Vamp dildo by Tantus

And then I moved on to the expert shopping tool.

When you begin your quest to find the perfect sex toy for you, you are asked if the toy you are looking for will be used for a woman, a man, or a couple to share, or if you’re looking for a gift for a wedding shower, bachelor party, or anything falling into that realm where you may need a little help trying to find that perfect, personal something that says exactly what you want it to. You then go through a series of other questions, providing information on your sexual orientation, what type of stimulation you would like to receive from the sex toy of your dreams (internal vaginal sensations, clitoral stimulation, nipple stimulation, anal penetration, or a product that will help strengthen your PC muscles), and then you move on to a more targeted question if they need to narrow down your results, such as, if you picked internal vaginal stimulation, you would then pick whether you would like something that vibrates, is realistic, or something that can provide simultaneous vibrations internally and externally.

After choosing that I was looking for a traditional dildo that does not vibrate, that could provide g-spot penetration and does not look realistic, which was just code for “do you want a dildo made of a realistic-feeling material?” instead of focusing on the shape, I was presented with a list of five different dildos to choose from. It is right about here where I wished that I was presented with more questions to answer. At first, I thought the expert shopping tool was quick and easy, but maybe too quick and easy because right after I finished and was presented with a list of five products to choose from that should all be perfect for me, I thought “That’s it?” and really wanted to be able to pinpoint a toy more directly.

The biggest problem I had with the selection of toys that should be “perfect” for me is the material some were made of that I already knew would not be perfect for me. One of my suggestions was a g-spot dildo made of jelly. Jelly is a material I would like to stay away from at all costs. Jelly toys cannot be sterilized or sanitized and then we run into that whole paranoia about cleanliness thing again. Worst of all, jelly toys can melt and can ruin any other toys that happen to be near them. That would be one of the worst things ever in the sex toy world.

One of the suggested toys did catch my eye, though. The Aveline g-spot dildo made by Lovemoiselle, which looks absolutely gorgeous and it is made of ceramic, which piqued my interest because I do not own any ceramic toys and would love to try one out. So that was my choice from the MyPleasure expert shopping tool.

Lovemoiselle Aveline g-spot dildo

Lovemoiselle is a sex toy manufacturer I have also had my eye on for a while, purely because their toys look absolutely gorgeous. They’re like works of art I would like to put in the center of my coffee table and just look at. The fact that their products can also stimulate your vagina, as well as make you marvel at how pretty it is is surely a bonus.

The Aveline g-spot dildo comes in a very pretty black box where you can keep it for safekeeping when you’re not using it. It measures approximately 8 1/2 inches in length and 1 1/2 inches in diameter at its widest point. It is made of white ceramic and has a very pretty blue floral design along the length of one side. Surprisingly, it isn’t too heavy considering it’s ceramic. It’s light enough for vigorous thrusting and is lighter than a good amount of the silicone toys I have.

Lovemoiselle Aveline g-spot dildo

The Aveline dildo is a very low-maintenance dildo without all of the creepy materials I’ve promised myself I’d stay away from. It’s non-porous and super easy to clean and it warms quickly to your body heat and chills very fast in the fridge if you want to experiment with temperature play. The Aveline is also eco-friendly and will last a lifetime.

The sensations of the Aveline g-spot dildo were certainly different. It has a friction-free finish so it is incredibly smooth. At first, it felt really good and it reached my g-spot and provided a good amount of pressure against it. It felt very much unlike any other toy I’ve used and it was refreshing to try something so different; but after a while it was very apparent that it was just too hard, with absolutely no give whatsoever, and it started to feel uncomfortable.

I have used this dildo many times and still have not been able to actually reach an orgasm with it. It gets uncomfortable and I either have to stop or I have to switch to something that is a little softer and doesn’t feel like it could break through into my esophagus. The Aveline dildo sure is gorgeous and I love its curves and the craftsmanship of it, but as a sex toy that is used purely for wanting to have an orgasm, it falls short of being as pleasurable as I would hope it could be.

The Vamp dildo, on the other hand… Oh, the Vamp dildo. When the Aveline g-spot dildo was failing to do the trick and was actually turning me off, I most often switched to the Vamp.

The Vamp dildo by Tantus

The Vamp dildo is indeed “inspired by” Twilight, but I promised not to hold that against the toy itself. You see, I’m not a fan of Twilight or vampires or movies, shows, or books about vampires. I have been spared from the vampire craze, but I have always wanted the Vamp dildo ever since I first saw it come out and start making the rounds within the sex blogging community.

It is a gorgeous pale dildo made of 100% ultra-premium platinum silicone and true to the Twilight storyline, it sparkles subtly in the sunlight, which is really cool even if you despise the Twilight franchise. It has a realistically-shaped head and very subtle texture throughout. It measures at approximately 6 3/4 inches in length and 1 1/2 inches in diameter. It is delightfully filling, but doesn’t hurt, even with rigorous thrusting; just be sure to use your favorite water-based lube with it to keep things slick and comfortable. It has a very large base, which makes it O harness compatible, but I don’t have a harness to try it out with so that’s about all I know about it being able to go with your favorite harness. Its large base also makes it safe for anal play.

Like the Aveline dildo, it is also a good toy for temperature play. It will warm up to your body heat and retain that temperature, or you can put it in the fridge for a few minutes to make it a little chilly.

I am in love with the Vamp dildo. It feels amazing, it reaches my g-spot effortlessly and provides enough pressure to bring you to absolutely phenomenal orgasm without being too firm and hurting you. I have used the Vamp dildo a lot more than I’ve used anything else I have and I’m not sure if it’s because by itself it’s just amazing or if I’m still shocked at how pleasurable a simple, traditional dildo can be. Either way, it is definitely the best dildo that I own.

Over all, the MyPleasure expert shopping tool did introduce me to a new material that I have been curious about, but it was not the perfect sex toy for me. My choice of sex toy without the help of the expert shopping tool was, obviously, a much better fit. That isn’t to say that the MyPleasure expert shopping tool isn’t a worthwhile and great addition to their website, because I really do think it is. However, it is primarily for beginners who have no idea what kind of sex toy would fit their needs and what they desire the best and for those who may be completely clueless as to what type of sex toys would truly be a worthwhile endeavor for them.

If you are a sex toy newbie, the MyPleasure expert shopping tool can definitely lead you in the right direction, but if you know what you like and more importantly, the materials that you know you should stay away from, I think you’ll do just fine without the assistance.

MyPleasure

Thank you to MyPleasure for giving me the opportunity to experience their expert shopping tool first-hand and for the chance to review the Tantus Vamp dildo and the Lovemoiselle Aveline G-spot dildo

Laya Spot: a Clitoral Stimulator that Will Take Less than an Eternity to Get You Off

July 2, 2010 by Holly
Filed Under: Love & Sex, Sex Toy Reviews, Vibrators

Laya Spot Let me preface this review with a little story.

A few years ago the SaSi clitoral stimulator came out and it was attracting a great deal of attention. Everywhere you looked, from bloggers to sex industry experts, it was popping up all over the place and they had nothing but great things to say about it and each and every single time, the phrase “It’s just like oral sex!” popped up. I was intrigued. In fact, I was more than intrigued, I was in lust. I love oral sex; it’s great, I can never get enough of it, so a toy that received numerous praise for giving off those same kind of sensations made me really, really want it. The reason why I do not have a SaSi, even after being in lust with it for years now, is because it carries a $150 price tag. Yeah, not happening.

Seeing how popular the SaSi had become and how those who couldn’t afford the clitoral stimulator were still keeping their eye on it, I received an email featuring clitoral stimulators that are kinda sorta like the SaSi, except they came with a lower price tag. Not long after I had the chance to review the Better Than Chocolate clitoral stimulator by Nomi Tang. Long story short, I really hated the Better Than Chocolate. Unless I had a good number of hours–yes, hours!–to dedicate to myself with the inclusion of additional toys or my partner, I didn’t even bother. In fact, it has pretty much been ignored for quite some time now.

The Laya Spot by Fun Factory is very much like the Better Than Chocolate clitoral stimulator. It’s essentially the same toy. It’s an external vibrator shaped ergonomically to hug the curves of your body.

Laya Spot

The Laya Spot is super cute. While the Better Than Chocolate could be classified as “elegant” the Laya Spot is like its quirky, cuter sister that’s a lot more fun. And it is more fun not only in its appearance, but also in its entire execution.

The Laya Spot is a multi-function, multi-speed vibrator. By pressing the small ‘plus’ sign on the top of the toy and holding it in for five seconds, it starts a straight-forward vibration at its lowest level. As you hold the button down, the vibrations gradually become more intense. When you press the ‘plus’ sign button again it will cycle through three differing vibrations and pulsation patterns and by pressing the ‘minus’ sign button, the intensity of the vibration will gradually decrease. These controls make it so that you can pinpoint exactly what type of vibration you find most pleasurable at the perfect level of intensity.

Let’s talk about the intensity of the vibrations for a second. They are good. I’d even go as far as to say that they are great, especially for a toy that takes two AAA batteries. No, they’re not going to rock your world or rub your clit right off, but they were certainly intense enough to get me off three times in about 30 minutes my first time using the Laya Spot and two of those orgasms clocked in at around 10 minutes in.

A friend of mine has already made it known that I prefer very intense vibration and pressure and because the Laya Spot is made of Elastomed, which is a hard material while also feeling soft to the touch, I was able to press it up against myself with enough pressure for it to feel pretty great. While it feels great, it didn’t get me off every single time I used it. The first time was definitely the most intense and it has trickled down in its amazingness the more I’ve been using it, but I think it’s just because I really like variety and sometimes I could have used a little more intensity in the vibrations. You can also use water-based and silicone-based lube with Elastomed and the Laya Spot came with a one-use packet of silicone-based lube that I really did not like, but only because I am not a fan of silicone-based lube. I’ve found that not using lube at all with this toy worked best for me.

Laya Spot

The Laya Spot has become a fantastic working buddy. For a few days now, while sitting at my desk getting my work for the day done, I have sat on the Laya Spot, with the curve of it pressed perfectly against me. A very slight rocking motion on it and a few minutes later and we have a solid leader in the ‘Ways to Have Fun While Working’ game.

The Laya Spot is definitely a great clitoral stimulator and for $20 less than the Better Than Chocolate, it’s not only a better clitoral stimulator in terms of how it performs, but it’s also a much better deal.

I have never owned a dildo before. I know, I also find that hard to believe, but I think that when women first start to test the waters when it comes to sex toys and what they will like, that they very often choose to start out with vibrators–and then sometimes it’s hard to branch out into other types of sex toys once you realize how well vibrators work for both internal and external stimulation. But I’ve always been very curious about dildos. I’ve seen many other people review dildos and say wonderful things about them and perhaps I’ve always thought that they may be too one-note for me to enjoy. I like a lot of stuff going on; I like penetration and I like vibration, so why branch out into the world of dildos when they seem to provide something less than other toys on the market?

I recently hooked up with Vibrators.com for a few reviews. You’ve already seen my review of the Taffy Tickler Water Buddy from them and that didn’t go so well, to say the least. So when the Blush Dildo arrived, the most-popular dildo on Vibrators.com, I might add, I hoped I would have better luck this time around. And boy did I.

First of all, it must be said that I have no idea how I have survived this long as a sexual being without owning a dildo and the Blush Dildo feels amazing.

Blush Dildo

The Blush Dildo is made by Doc Johnson and is UR3 “Ultra Realistic”–and it certainly feels it when it’s inside of you. When I first received this dildo (in a standard plastic package that can be popped apart at the top very easily), it felt very chalky in my hand. This is because toys made of this material are lightly dusted to maintain their texture. While it certainly didn’t feel “ultra realistic” in my hand, after thoroughly washing it, which you should always do with anything made of this material before even thinking of playing with it, it did feel a great deal softer.

It is called Blush because while it is very light purple in color overall, you can see through it and at the very top of the head, there is a “blush of color” which is light pink. It’s definitely pretty and as you can see from the images, it has a lot of really defined texture. Something that is very obvious when you pop open the plastic packaging is the scent. Yes, this dildo is scented and it kind of reminds me of perfume; but none just any perfume–perfume worn by a woman in her late 80′s. I was incredibly disappointed by this, especially since I distinctly remember scanning the product’s page on the website and saw nothing about it having an old lady perfume smell. Not only that, but the scent latches onto you. I did not use it the day I took the images of it that you see throughout this post and my hands still smelled very strongly of perfume and it is a dramatic turn-off. Luckily, it did not make my vagina angry, but if you have allergies to any chemicals used to create such a strong scent, you will either want to stay away from the Blush Dildo or use a condom over it.

The Blush Dildo is 7 inches in length with a 2 inch diameter. It is very girthy and at first I didn’t think it was going to be very comfortable at all. However, with a generous amount of water-based lube, it fit comfortably and felt great. If it were made from a harder material, it would definitely be bordering on too thick, but because it is so soft and able to bend and adjust to your body, it fills you but it isn’t painful and you don’t feel like it’s going to break you.

Blush Dildo

I am not very sensitive to texture, so I couldn’t feel all of the veins throughout this dildo without moving it very, very slowly, and even then only the most pronounced veins were felt. The best quality this dildo has however, is its head. It is one of the most amazing-feeling heads I have ever experienced from a toy and I think that alone is what made me immediately exclaim that it was one of my new favorite toys ever after having an amazing orgasm with it.

Blush Dildo

I used the Blush Dildo for the first time with my partner, who, after I told him how much I loved it, told me that it may not like it so much if I were left trying to maneuver it on my own. The reason for this? Well, because the Blush Dildo is really, really limp. It’s almost too limp and can definitely make you angry if you’re thrusting it vigorously and suddenly it pops out of you and plops around in your hand as you try to get it back in place, but can’t because you’re hand is now also slick with water-based lube. Luckily this wasn’t too much of a problem when I was using it on my own, but there was the occasional slippage. This dildo has some pretty big balls on it, which are great to grab onto for thrusting and the dildo is long enough that they won’t get in the way. What I found distinctly disappointing however, is again, the product description on the website. It claims that the Blush Dildo can stand up on its own “for more versatile play” and I can attest that no, no it cannot. The image above would have demonstrated its ability to stand up on its own, but even with my hand holding down the balls, the shaft just flops over almost completely.

To clean the Blush Dildo, which you should do before and after every single use, be sure to only use toy cleaner or a very mild antibacterial soap and warm water. The UR3 material is also very porous and can harbor bacteria, so be sure not to share this dildo with anyone and if you do, use a condom every time.

While I would much prefer the Blush Dildo be more firm and without the grandma scent, it was a respectable first dildo that I had a lot of fun with. Note I didn’t say first sex toy, because if a total beginner purchased this, they would definitely be intimidated by its width, but it’s a good dildo with a pretty astounding price tag of just $21.99.

Meet My New Bedroom Buddy, Pink Water

Pink Water As you may imagine from the amount of sex toy reviews that are published here every week, sometimes a little helper is necessary in making sure things run as smoothly and comfortably as possible. I consider lube to be a necessity when it comes to sexual encounters, whether you’re with your partner or just playing solo with your favorite toy. It makes your entire experience a great deal more enjoyable for everyone involved and without it, you could wind up feeling sore or experiencing some mild discomfort because of how sensitive and fragile a woman’s intimate tissues are.

I have explored and tested a few different lubricants; not a ton, but I’m one of those people who when I find something I like, I tend to stick to it and not rock the boat too much. This is especially true when we’re talking about chemicals and ingredients that have the ability to irritate your skin if you don’t pay special attention to what is used in something you’ve decided to try. Fascinations recently gave me the opportunity to try out a new lubricant made specifically with a woman’s needs in mind.

Pink Water is a water-based lubricant that is glycerin free and is fortified with Aloe Vera, making it extremely gentle on your skin and it’s safe for those of you out there who have to worry about allergies and skin irritation.

The first thing you will notice about Pink Water is that it is not merely a ‘flip cap open and squeeze desired amount of lube onto your hand, fingers, penis, toy, etc.’ kind of lube. It has a very classy and just plain pretty bottle, which is plastic so it won’t break if it falls onto the floor, gets thrown into your bed table drawer or toy box, or if you have the undying urge to play catch and it’s the only thing around. There is a pale blue cover protecting where the lube is dispensed from which can easily be taken right off and when it is, you see that this lube has the best spout ever! Just by pumping the top of the bottle, a small portion of lube is dispensed. The lube does have a tendency to drip onto the bottle itself and dribbles a bit, but the excess lube can be easily wiped away.

One of the best things about Pink Water is that it doesn’t take a lot to get you sufficiently lubed up. Just two to three pumps of the dispenser will give you enough to last a while and a little goes a very long way. After a significant amount of time, I’d say around a half hour or so, it can become sticky but I think that has more to do with your natural fluids mixing with the lube itself. Pink Water is a highly concentrated formula, but washes off skin and sensitive areas very easily so you won’t be washing for what seems like forever wondering when this slick liquid will finally leave your body.

Since I received my bottle of Pink Water, I have not used any other lube; I haven’t even thought another type of lube I have would suit a specific need better because Pink Water does the trick for me every time. It is safe to use with all of my toys, even my lovely silicone toys, and it has been extremely gentle on my skin and body. The only thing that Pink Water failed to lube up sufficiently and comfortably was the recently-reviewed Taffy Tickler Water Buddy and well, after reading my review you will understand that nothing could make that a comfortable experience, so I’m not holding that against it.

I love my Pink Water, it is definitely something I would buy again and again and I think anyone out there in the market for some phenomenal lube should definitely give it a shot.

The Taffy Tickler Water Buddy — You Have Been Warned

Taffy Tickler vibrator

The Taffy Tickler Water Buddy looks really cool. When I first saw it on Vibrators.com, who had contacted me to partner for a review, I let the possibility of reviewing this vibrator marinate in my head for a little while before I made a final decision. After a few days I went back to it and was still completely intrigued by its appearance, so I decided to take a chance with something I wouldn’t normally review–something completely different and maybe just a little off the wall. What’s the worst thing that could happen anyway, right?

So when the packaged arrived in a very discreet and plain white box, I immediately ripped the box open, eager to see what this vibrator looked like up-close. It looked exactly as it did on the website. It has a bulbous head that tapers into its thinner shaft. It’s blue and white, which I think is awesome since a great deal of my toys fall into the “pretty girly colors” category and I like to have some variety when it comes to colors with my toys. Bottom line, if I get a toy that is not pink or purple, consider me a happy camper. I was still just as intrigued by the Taffy Tickler Water Buddy as I was when I first saw it. There is a little section cut out of the bottom left corner of the packaging with a small sphere sample of the material used on the vibrator (note: you are not able to touch the actual vibrator so no one has had their grubby fingers all over it or anything) so you can see for yourself what it feels like before taking it out of the package.

The product description of the Taffy Tickler Water Buddy on the website says that this vibrator may look a little intimidating, but assures the customer that the “petals” are “extremely soft silicone.” To the toy and product description’s credit, the spikes (I’m sorry, they do not resemble petals and no one will ever see or touch this toy and immediately think of the word petals) are indeed pretty soft to the touch and cover the entire vibrator over a plastic vibe. However, they are only soft if you are running your hand over it so lightly you’re barely touching it. They are not extremely soft, but they are soft enough that I was still intrigued and willing to give this vibe a shot.

Taffy Tickler vibrator

Before I tried the Taffy Tickler Water Buddy, I was talking about it with a friend of mine who had reviewed another variation of the Taffy Tickler line of products and gave me some very pertinent tips on how to go about using it. Taking her instruction very seriously, I used a spectacularly generous amount of water-based lube and I also warmed myself up with another toy that was significantly larger than the Taffy Tickler Water Buddy just to make sure I was completely prepared for it.

I wasn’t. I was not prepared for it at all. I used so much lube that I literally gasped when I saw how much was missing from the container of my favorite lube on the planet and it did not help at all. Not one little bit.

The Taffy Tickler Water Buddy does not tickle. The sensations felt by it cannot even compare to how being tickled feels, even rough tickling where you don’t know if someone is trying to in fact tickle you or dig their fingers into your body as hard as they can. This vibrator is painful. I attempted to use it externally first, which is the safest bet when you’re literally afraid to put something inside of you and usually, if something can spark the attention of my clit then we’re good to go. This vibrator did not feel pleasurable at all. In fact, it felt annoying. After a few deep breaths I tried to insert it and it would not go in. This made no sense to me, given the fact that there was a considerable amount of lube on the toy itself and on me, so I gave it a little more force, moved it in and out of myself exactly three times before I started shaking my head and saying the word ‘no’ repeatedly.

I had attempted to use it by solely holding it very lightly against me with the vibration on and the vibrations contained in this vibrator are really great. They are intense and there are multiple speeds which can be adjusted by turning the dial at the bottom of the battery compartment. But while I did enjoy the intensity of the vibrations, given off by two AA batteries, my brain kept focusing on the severe discomfort I was in because of the sensation of the spikes. I should also mention that that this vibrator is called the Water Buddy for a reason–It is completely waterproof so you can take it into the bath, shower, pool, hot tub or any other water-filled environment.

The sensations felt by the Taffy Tickler Water Buddy is something I never want to feel again. It is extremely painful, it makes your vagina burn kind of like a urinary tract infection, but much, much worse. That pissed off face the model on the package of this vibrator has? Yeah, I’m now fully convinced she has in fact used this product because I have been making the same, exact facial expression since I attempted to use it.

The Taffy Tickler Water Buddy, in all of its 6 1/2 inches, is anything but a pleasurable experience and would be better fitting if it were marketed as some sort of sick torture device. Please consider this review as the universal warning to stay away from this sort of silicone dollop spikey texture at all costs. Please.

A huge thank you goes out to Vibrators.com for giving me the opportunity to review the Taffy Tickler Water Buddy. I’m sorry I didn’t like it more, but they stock a great deal of different vibrators, all of which I’m betting feel a lot better than this one, so check them out.
