Hardly is porn created with the intention of being totally hot and a valid educational tool for adults, but that is precisely what Good Vibrations aims to achieve through the Pleasure-Ed Series from their partner porn site Good Releasing.

While there were few educational moments of note during another adult film I reviewed a while ago, Courtney Trouble’s Seven Minutes in Heaven 2, such as the demonstration on how to make a dental dam out of a standard condom, porn created specifically as an educational guide was a new concept to me up until I was introduced to Gush: The Official Guide to the G-Spot & Female Ejaculation. Upon viewing, I found that this adult film isn’t merely a step-by-step instructional DVD as I was expecting, but rather five scenes showcasing the stimulation of the g-spot and female ejaculation split up by scenes of Good Vibrations’ Staff Sexologist Dr. Carol Queen speaking on the subject on a radio show with Michelle Meow and answering questions from callers.

Before viewing Gush I was already very aware of the existence of my g-spot and its location, and have been for several years. I had also already attained the knowledge (thanks, internet) and the experience to know how to stimulate my g-spot in a way that works best for me in order to elicit that much-desired female ejaculation. Frankly, I did not expect to learn very much from the scenes or from the radio segment with Dr. Carol Queen, and I didn’t. This title is certainly tailored for beginners in g-spot stimulation and ejaculation.

I will give Gush this, though: What Dr. Carol Queen had to say about female ejaculation, what it is, where it comes from, and that it’s totally normal, would have come in handy for me personally after the first time I ejaculated and had no idea what was going on. Afterwards, I stared at the wet spot on the floor of my bedroom in my father’s house wondering if I had just peed all over the floor. Because exaggerating in times of panic comes naturally to me, I quickly convinced myself that my entire room was going to smell like urine, and the smell was going to stay there forever.

The scenes in Gush were fairly diverse, featuring people of color as well as an array of body types, sexual orientations, and gender identities. Sadly, however, three of the five scenes were incredibly boring; so boring that I wound up skipping through scenes that quickly became merely replicas of scenes past with new people thrown in. I know that there are only so many ways you can go about stimulating the g-spot, but when you set out to create an entire film dedicated to this very act, and that film turns out to be 1 hour and 38 minutes long, I should not be wrong in assuming that some level of planning was done in order to make the scenes flow together. Turns out I was wrong in assuming this and that is unfortunate.

The least exciting of the “instructional” scenes (or, “actual porn”) were the first scene, performed by Syd Blakovich and Sophia St. James and the final scene, performed by Gloria and Altair Shadow. The worst of them, however, was the second scene, performed by Mirabelle Hayes and Maxwell Silver. This was a scene that felt as if it went on for far too long and I was done with it before Mirabelle Hayes came once. About a quarter of the way through this scene, I felt that Maxwell Silver’s presence was unnecessary. There were several times where it looked like he didn’t know what to do with himself and was just hanging out, waiting for Mirabelle to take the lead. To call this scene boring or just plain bad is an understatement; it was awkward and actually turned me off.

Now onto the good scenes! Dylan Ryan and Mickey Mod‘s scene was the only one with some semblance of a plot, which was a nice change of pace. Dylan Ryan walked into the house after a long, grueling day of work to find Mickey Mod making dinner and icing cupcakes. This is the longest scene in the film, yet it didn’t feel like it was dragging and I never got bored watching Dylan and Mickey engage in ample foreplay, Dylan using the Hitachi Magic Wand on the couch, and later they go to the bed where several gushing orgasms are had.

Jiz Lee‘s solo masturbation scene was by far my favorite of all the scenes. Maybe it’s because I enjoy other Jiz Lee work I have seen and also read their blog regularly, but this scene was absolutely fantastic. There was no second person in the scene, just Jiz Lee doing their thing, and doing it well. Several different toys were used, including the Randy dildo, the Pure Wand, as well as large, impressive as hell curved glass dildo.

I wasn’t impressed or even slightly satisfied by Gush and while this is a film targeted more towards beginners, which I am not, I think the fact that there are five separate porn scenes should have made up for the information I already knew. Porn is created for the purpose of eliciting a sexual response from the person or people watching it, but this sadly did not; not even the two scenes that I enjoyed. They were good scenes, but I think the bad scenes had already ruined me by the time I got to them.

The production quality was also sorely lacking. The radio question and answer segment with Dr. Carol Queen and Michelle Meow were significantly quieter than the instructional scenes, making me have to turn the volume up between each of the five scenes and then back down before the sounds of moaning filled my house. This was annoying and I have neighbors who probably didn’t want to hear unsolicited moaning sounds bellowing from my television. The sound quality problem made the entire film come off as unprofessional and irritating.

Considering that most of the scenes in Gush were worth skipping over and the disappointing production quality of the entire film, if you know nothing about g-spot stimulation and are interested in the educational portion of this film, I would recommend looking into other ways to obtain this information. Good Vibrations has created a guide to the g-spot that is worth looking into, especially considering it has a $9.50 price tag, as opposed to the $24.95 you would pay for Gush.

I am a bit of an Alice in Wonderland enthusiast. I had latched onto the story as a little kid and my admiration for it grew as I did. Throughout my years I have accumulated several copies of different editions of both Lewis Carroll books, Alice in Wonderland and Through the Looking Glass, as well as a few small art prints, the different versions of the movie (I hated the Tim Burton remake of my beloved story, by the way), and when I was 17 I had sketches from the book “Through the Looking Glass” that I had planned to turn into a full-sleeve tattoo. That did not happen as I became of age to go and get a tattoo and even years later, I have more important things to put my money towards, even if it I still believe it would turn out to be one of the coolest tattoos ever. But I digress.

So when I saw Malice in LaLaLand, an adult film from Miss Lucifer Productions that uses Lewis Carroll’s creations as a muse and jumping off point for a series of sexy adventures starring Sasha Grey, while browsing the stock of adult DVDs on Fascinations, I was pretty intrigued and excited to see what kind of scenarios they would come up with.

The simply mad way of Wonderland is abundantly apparent in Malice in LaLaLand but it isn’t the supporting cast of characters in the film that are mad. Malice, played by Sasha Grey, is the mad one, first seen tied to a chair in a straight jacket and then laying in a white bed inside of an incredibly dingy mental hospital. Malice manages to escape the asylum with the help of a very small man dressed like a demonic rabbit, played by Stephen Powers, and its doctor Queenie, played by Andy San Dimas, and the really creepy, voyeuristic Jabbowski, played by Dirty Fred, whose name is nothing but appropriate.

After escaping the asylum, Malice makes a pit stop at Rabbit’s house where she gets changed into very short, cheeky jean shorts and a halter top. They do not stay on long, however, as she climbs out of the rabbit hole and is somehow naked again. For some reason, she does not realize she is naked until she is walking through the desert to a gas station. But she does find another change of clothes there, which include leather pants that look to be about three sizes too small and don’t go over the top-half of her ass, a leather belt, jacket and heels. Appropriate clothing for walking through the desert indeed. Luckily, she doesn’t have to do much more walking as she meets up with the Cheshire Cat character, played by Keni Styles. He takes her to a hotel room where he wants to take pictures of her. They end up fucking while Sasha Grey is, of course, wearing an adult fantasy Alice in Wonderland dress much like the one I reviewed back in December.

Together, Sasha Grey and Keni Styles embark on a few trips. One to Ron Jeremy‘s strip club where he is sucking on a hookah and passing out mushrooms and other drugs, and they also stop at the Mad Hatter’s sex mansion where every room is a different fetish. Keni Styles winds up in a furry threesome with two women wearing rabbit heads, although they do take the rabbit heads off for most of this encounter. Malice finds herself in a room with two other women where they do just about anything and everything three women can do together without it getting boring or stale. That is an accomplishment.

Jabbowski does catch up with Malice in the end, after following just a few moments behind Malice’s every move. Man is resourceful! While Malice is shooting an MMF threesome for people who let her jump into their car to get away from Jabbowski, he finally catches up with her, shoots Rabbit and somehow Queenie walks into the diner from out of nowhere. There is then a sort of standoff between Jabbowski and Malice, and Queenie stops him from shooting Malice so she can plunge a giant needle into her to, I suppose, sedate her and take her back to the asylum. End scene.

There are very few moments in “Malice in LaLaLand” that succeeded in turning me on, which is disappointing since that’s why I (and most people) watch porn to begin with. The storyline was mildly interesting–mildly–and I feel like they really could have done a lot more, but shied away from going too kinky, as evidenced by the fact that Malice had a very straightforward threesome with two other women. I will give it credit for being one of the hotter scenes in this film but she could have jumped headfirst into the medical bondage room. Just saying.

After the last scene came to an end, I felt completely underwhelmed by Malice in LaLaLand, which was extremely disappointing. I wanted it to be so much more than it was. When it comes to Lewis Carroll being used as a muse for just about anything, there is so much to work with right at your fingertips. Taking Carroll’s story and making it your own in an adult film could lead to absolutely amazing and seriously hot scenes, but all Miss Lucifer Productions did was take a small kernel of what made each character interesting, took their clothes off, and watered them down to forgettable and uninteresting versions of themselves.

I first heard of “Matinee“, Jennifer Lyon Bell’s smart, artsy drama filled to the brim with sexual explicitness, from Good Vibrations who sent me an email a few weeks ago introducing the film and also giving me the opportunity to review it. Upon reading its synopsis, I was immediately intrigued. While residing well within the porn world, “Matinee” is defined by such sweet, delightful, irresistible words; words like acting, authentic sex, storyline, and high production quality. It also features beautiful lighting and original music to boot.

“Matinee” stars Alicia Whitsover as Mariah and Steven McAlistair as Daniel; they’re both theater actors starring in a matinee show that has received terrible reviews citing lack of sexual chemistry between the two. In an attempt to spark chemistry on-stage, they begin practicing their scene before the final curtain rises by going through the motions of what is supposed to portray sensuality and affection for one another. When Daniel brings up the option of improvising on stage, Mariah is very much against it. Just before they are set to go on stage, the two still have no idea what they will do to add chemistry to their performance, but after Mariah gives their situation more thought before positioning herself on stage, and listening to the advice of the fellow actresses in the theater to “go for it,” she does. Daniel walks out on stage, in front of a scarcely-filled audience, to see Mariah on her mark, sitting up on a bed dressed only in a robe.

After delivering maybe a handful of words, the film rolls out into a full-on, 20-minute-or-so sex scene, complete with surprisingly accurate foreplay that captures the increasing arousal of both people; and it is surprisingly pretty fantastic. I have seen a lot of porn and in more cases than not, porn shows two people (or sometimes more) meeting up, taking their clothes off, and immediately getting down to business. This is not the way real sex works. Immediately trying to shove something inside of a woman without anything even slightly sexual happening beforehand hardly works; in fact, it’s just painful for everyone involved.

I really loved a lot of things about “Matinee”. First of all, hello stunningly real, relateable body types! Both Steven McAlistair and Alicia Whitsover have bodies that we have all seen in our daily lives, rather than the typical bodies we see in movies, magazines, and on television. For instance, when Mariah (Whitsover) lays down on the bed, her breasts flatten, falling to her sides, and when she leans over to grab a condom she has stashed away in the pocket of her robe and then rolls it onto Daniel’s (McAlistair’s) penis, you can clearly see a small roll of fat around her midsection. Also, Mariah has a full bush, which is definitely something we don’t get to see a lot in the porn industry. But let’s backpedal for a second while here. Speaking of the use of contraception, when Mariah puts the condom on Daniel, she proceeds to go down on him. While capturing safe sex was obviously important to Jennifer Lyon Bell, when I saw Mariah giving Daniel a blow job with a condom on, I wondered why Daniel had not used a dental dam when he was going down on Mariah. If you are going to show safe sex, I think it is important to show it universally, especially when a staggering amount of people are still not aware of the dental dam’s existence or how to properly use one. Sure, it can be argued that Daniel did not know exactly what was going to happen between himself and Mariah when he walked on stage; this raw sex scene in front of their audience was put into motion by Mariah, but I doubt a woman who uses a condom to give a man a blow job would allow someone to give her oral sex without protection.

Honestly, I was more focused on Alicia Whitsover throughout the entire film, rather than Steven McAlistair, who just seemed to be along for the ride as Whitsover commanded the attention throughout. While the quality of acting is absolutely phenomenal for the porn industry, Whitsover was at times nervous, unsure, undeniably seductive, and absolutely believable, the only thing I took away from McAlistair was bewilderment; that is until the end. The end scene of the film is funny in a way; two people who have just had amazing, fulfilling sex remain obvious friends at the end and not one tinge of weirdness comes through.

“Matinee” is a sensual and exciting film. While it is not something I would watch with the sole intention of getting off with minimal effort, it is something I would pop in as foreplay in itself, and it works very well in that respect. Sadly, “Matinee” only clocks in at 34 minutes, which is a damn travesty if you ask me. I would have liked to see more happening in “Matinee”; a bit more to the storyline and another sex scene or two. Having a little more to it would probably justify its $29.95 price tag to most as well, as it is a bit of a drastic price for just one scene. However, I am very glad that I have had the opportunity to see “Matinee” and become very interested in what else Jennifer Lyon Bell has up her sleeve.

While I do not often bring you adult film reviews, I was recently given the opportunity to review Courtney Trouble‘s “Seven Minutes in Heaven 2: Tender Hearted“ from Babeland and I jumped at the chance. I am not extremely knowledgeable when it comes to women porn directors, but I do appreciate the work that they do and have always felt very strongly about getting more women behind the scenes when it comes to porn, if not only for the extremely negative stigma that is attached to porn. When I found out that not only Courtney Trouble was an award-winning director, but had made a name for herself among the most prominent of feminist porn, I could not contain my excitement. I absolutely needed to get my hands on this DVD.

The set of “Seven Minutes in Heaven 2″ is a fun slumber party where reserved etiquette gets thrown out the window. During a game of spin the bottle, once someone spins and, as we learned from our early years, sees who they have to kiss, we not only see the kiss, but also get a great view of their obvious chemistry and lust taking over as they devour each other.

The film stars Puck Goodfellow, Chocolate Chip, Cyd Loverboy, Red, Soma Stardust, Akira Raine and James Darling. This cast is completely amateur and we are privy to seeing most of their porn debuts, with the exception of Puck Goodfellow and Chocolate Chip who have also starred in the first Seven Minutes in Heaven. The fact that this cast is predominantly amateur makes it even hotter for me. If there is one thing that is completely obvious throughout the entire time you are watching this, it’s that these people are real. They are people of diversity; they have the bodies of real people who aren’t striving or really even caring about fitting into mainstream society’s norm of slim, slender and meticulously flawless.

Everyone in the film picked who they wanted to appear in the film with and I think that made all the difference. In every scene you can tell there is real chemistry and everyone is really enjoying themselves. In particular, during the scene featuring Red, Cyd and James, there is a refreshing playfulness that will actually make you smile and laugh along with them as Cyd and Red crack jokes back and forth.

Most of the scenes are incredibly enjoyable, but one in particular I cannot get out of my head–and not in a good way. The scene featuring Akira and Puck disappointed me so much that I could barely make it through the scene’s entirety without wanting to press the fast-forward button. Akira, who I enjoyed in the first scene with Chocolate Chip, is just too much. Too much noise, really weird “O” face, just way, way too much for me to handle. I also found that every time Akira moaned way too loudly for just a little bit too long, my arousal state decreased. Every single time. That is not good when it comes to watching porn for an “end result,” we’ll say.

But that did not turn me off of Puck Goodfellow in the least. In fact, I am STILL reeling over the complete and utter sexiness that is Puck Goodfellow. He has an undeniable sex appeal that you can only truly understand from seeing him in action yourself. He is incredible when it comes to fucking, possessing a talent that will make you lock your eyes to his hips and never leave. It is amazing. His scene with Soma in the bathtub while Soma is handcuffed to the faucet was my absolute favorite scene in the entire film, hands down. I have watched and re-watched it several times now and I swear, he gets better with every view. You need to trust me on this one.

Another person I was undeniably attracted to was James Darling. He is just the cutest boy I have ever seen in my life and I couldn’t take my eyes off of him and I really wanted to see more of him. Since seeing “Seven Minutes in Heaven 2″, I have now vowed to see each and every single thing featuring both Puck Goodfellow and James Darling from this day forward. I cannot get enough.

Courtney Trouble shines a fabulous and positive spotlight on the people in her film. We see different gender identities, safer sex with the use of black latex gloves, dental dams and condoms, twosomes, threesomes, and even what is being said to be the first gender-fucking, all-hands-on, seven person gang bang as everyone plays a part in getting Red off.

It is abundantly obvious that Courtney Trouble is dedicated to spreading knowledge of safer sex, not just by having everyone in the film wear black latex gloves or use dental dams, but because she has an entire scene in the film of her talking on the phone asking if someone could bring by more latex gloves and how important safer sex was. And we do see the gloves being dropped off, but when the cast takes the gloves from Jiz Lee and then slams the door in her face, I thought it was a joke. Like they would laugh and then open the door and then Jiz Lee would come in and join the party. But no, she just leaves and I was left almost yelling at the screen, asking “Where are you going!?”

But even given the few slight problems I had with “Seven Minutes in Heaven 2″, I loved this film and it delivered everything I thought it would–and then some.

I have not seen the first Seven Minutes in Heaven so before receiving this, I was a Courtney Trouble virgin. With that said, overall, I could not be happier to add one of her films to my collection and I can certainly say that she has certainly created an enthusiast out of me.

Tristan Taormino is the first adult film director that I had an immense curiosity about. While I am a woman (and feminist) who openly enjoys porn, most of my porn-viewing experience has been limit to your run of the mill, cue bad ’70s music and watching people merely go through the motions without looking like they are really enjoying themselves. Of what I’ve read of Tristan Taormino, an openly feminist porn director herself, her films are nothing like what you get in the mail for free when you buy a sex toy from a sex toy megastore.

I was immediately intrigued by Taormino’s “Rough Sex“, since the name really says it all. Who doesn’t enjoy seeing some intense, rough fucking? I know I do and I’m generally more into the BDSM world when it comes to not only my personal bedroom preference, but also my viewing pleasure. “Rough Sex” is comprised of a phenomenal cast, including Adrianna Nicole, Marie Luv, Satine Phoenix, Francesca Le and Sasha Grey, whom I think is undeniably gorgeous and who I really, really wanted to see perform.

What sets “Rough Sex” apart from most porn out there, is that Taormino interviewed each woman before showing their scene, asking them what their fantasies were, what they wanted to capture on film and even who they wanted in the scenes with them. To give your actors total control over what they wanted this film to be and how they want to appear in it, and even who they see themselves acting in the scenes with is absolutely amazing and increases the chemistry the actors have significantly. To see people really enjoying themselves and each other is something anyone can get off to.

In the first scene, we see Adrianna Nicole and Marco Banderas. After Adrianna Nicole’s interview, we see her getting into the shower, inserting a butt plug before stepping in, as if she knows what is going to happen and instead of what we see next giving us the impression that it is non-consensual, we know that by her doing this it is really something that is set up and completely consensual. Banderas walks into the house and sneaks up on Nicole in the shower. The scene is full of blowjobs, hair pulling, even a Hitachi Magic Wand and while I didn’t necessarily enjoy Marco Banderas, who to me is just a little too model-esque for my liking and who I don’t necessarily see as the “intruder” type, especially considering his sex face is a little crazy and funny looking, the two did have great chemistry on film.

The second scene features Satine Phoenix, whose ultimate fantasy is to be taken while stranded out in the desert after her car breaks down. She is joined by Derrick Pierce, an extremely muscle-bound, tattooed and beautiful man. This scene surprised me, because while it left little to the imagination and we knew they would end up in a much-heated fuck fest, I was surprised and extremely turned on for Pierce to really go for it, slapping, pinching and scratching and holding very little back. Throughout the scene we see Satine Phoenix have welts rise up and scratch marks are left on her skin, which I loved. Another thing that really made this scene work for me is the amount of dirty talk that came from Derrick Pierce. He is surely someone I would love to check out in other films, as long as they are control-based scenes that he obviously does remarkably well.

But guys aren’t the only ones in control in “Rough Sex”. The third scene is a femdom scene by Francesca Le and Christian. Christian, who is the powerful, corporate drone by day comes home to his neglected wife and while he’s yelling at someone on the phone, she changes into a sexy piece of black lingerie, thigh-highs and gloves. In this scene, Francesca Le is degrading Christian and is chock-full of verbal commends. There is spanking and paddling, foot worship and a whole lot of spitting.

Scene four features Marie Luv and Julius Ceazher. The scene revolves around Marie Luv getting caught cheating on her boyfriend and he makes her pay via verbal degradation, slapping, a blowjob and very raw, intense passion and fucking. This is one of the best scenes of the entire film, just because of the amount of verbal attacks and solid chemistry.

The last scene is saved for Sasha Grey and Danny Wylde. This is a switch scene; at first Danny Wylde is seen with the upper-hand, choking Sasha Grey after playing pool and talking about rough sex. Sasha Grey divulges that one of her hard limits is breast slapping, but after they quickly get into the fucking, Danny Wylde slaps her breasts (after a rimjob given by Sasha Grey, which is incredibly, incredibly hot!) and that’s when the switch happens. Immediately noticing his mistake, Sasha Grey takes control, making him pay for his mistake. Several times in the scene we see the two smiling at each other, which shows the amount of chemistry between these two actors and really sells them as a couple who are enjoying themselves and who are enjoying the power being placed over them by each other.

“Rough Sex” is something for everyone and anyone who has ever had the intense need to be dominated or to dominate over a partner. It’s exciting, passionate, surprising, rewarding and incredibly hot. It’s porn you can actually get off to, instead of just ending up laughing at or wondering how someone got where and why are they all of a sudden fucking. This was my first look into the work of Tristan Taormino and I can’t wait to see more.

The ability to create adult films that are not only targeted towards women and couples, but are also widely accepted with open arms is quite an accomplishment in the adult film industry. Adult films typically cater to the stereotypical male persona due to society’s fondness of scrutinizing and shaming women who like to watch pornography. Given this fact, when I find an adult film that you can tell was truly made with women’s interests in mind, it immediately has a very special place in my collection!

“Fallen” is a fantastic, obviously woman and couple-targeted adult film that will excite, intrigue, and pull its audience in for a classic tale of a fallen angel. The angel, played by AVN winner for Best Actress, Jessica Drake, was once a guardian angel for humanity, although after one fate-writing momentary lapse, she tries to avoid an eternity of punishment and works to earn the forgiveness of those she has harmed. The angel careens through a series of obstacles, triumphs, and a smorgasbord of unforgettable sex.

“Fallen” delivers in every which way possible, from caring and compassionate love-making between two people in the midst of falling for each other, to public sex, girl-on-girl, an orgy, anal, and double penetration. Whatever you’re in the mood for, “Fallen” has a scene that will excite and tantalize you. However, “Fallen” is not merely an adult film chock-full of meaningless, stereotypical, and oftentimes confusing sexual encounters; it dares to tell a story with a genuine plot and almost-believable characters.

More than anything, “Fallen” shows the true, unmistakable potential of director Brad Armstrong, who should be spending more time focusing on indie dramas or something with not a little, but a lot more meat to it; no pun intended. The direction of this film is at times beautiful, dramatic, and even poetic; the fact that he is working within the adult film industry speaks volumes of the fact that either there is a lofty paycheck to be achieved at the end of the tunnel or he just truly has no idea what kind of potential he is in possession of.

The film is shot beautifully and progresses well, given the variety of scenes incorporated and would be a film that I would watch again and again, if only the main character was played by someone with a bit more substance. “Fallen” is a film that attempts to defy the film/adult film borders, at least most of the way in, but Jessica Drake is in dire need of freshening up on sexy monosyllabic words to utter during her scenes. In each of the sex scenes in this film she reaches for the exact same word usage that we have already heard from her in the scene before. To say the least, this redundancy can very well start to annoy you, if you’re paying attention to the dialogue, that is.

But as beautiful as the film is shot and shown to us throughout the beginning and middle of this film, the ending falls flat on its face, grasps for air, and dies before us. The ending scenes are perhaps the worst buildup I have ever seen in any movie, including B horror flicks, and leaves you staring at your television after the film has ended, wondering what just happened. Luckily, two of the sex scenes in this film are just that good to save the fact that they stopped trying and after reaching 177 minutes, had to end the story any way they could.

What is definitely worth mentioning about “Fallen” is the fact that it is epically packaged. Upon first opening the package in which it arrived in, I was wondering why a DVD had to be packaged in a box that is much larger than your standard DVD size. “Fallen” is presented in a tri-fold, soft cardboard package that is completely covered with scenes from the movie, as well as Jessica Drake, front and center. To say the least, the packaging is beautiful and very impressive!

It’s time to get your joysticks out! “Man’s Ruin” is an adult DVD that plays like a video game with multi-players and multi-levels. Starring alt porn star Melodie Gore who plays a superhero on a mission filled with sexual obstacles of fetishism, bondage, medical play, all-girl threesomes, submission and domination.

The DVD is packaged impressively, to say the least, containing a temporary tattoo of the DVD’s logo and two DVDs, one of the film and another of extras. What I found ironic is that an extra on the second disc is of an anti-porn propaganda documentary from the 60′s that paints pornography to be dangerous and vile. Winkytiki, alt pin-up photographer and “Man’s Ruin”‘s creator, is surely a man on a mission to destroy the social stigma that is still preserved in the United States by many people who still believe that pornography is obscene.

Although “Man’s Ruin” may put a few people off by its description, this film is done artistically and embraces kink on all of its levels. While I can appreciate the way, as well as the reason why this film was made, I found myself utterly confused while watching it. The whole video game meets porn concept is interesting and made me very eager to see the film, the main character plays several personas, some even introduced for no reason such as a cartoon-like squid. There are various different scenes in this film, also some bordering on being introduced for no reason just like it’s personas, such as Japanese Manga and a scene involving an insane Nazi scientist.

While “Man’s Ruin” is interesting in theory and by the description, greatly interested me in seeing the film, it was too confusing for me to follow. I would love to see a film like this that was executed correctly, but this one should have went through a few more drafts before releasing it.
