Play that is plucked directly from your most frequent, intimate fantasies can be one of the most fantastic and rewarding things you can do for your sex life; I really believe that. Overall, this is a great starter kit, but it does have its faults. The most unimpressive of the items is the face mask. It is incredibly flimsy and the elastic band that secures it around your head feels as if someone spent hours stretching it out to the point where the mask repeatedly falls off my face. I guess that’s why they say the mask will fit most people and I suppose that I have a smaller-than-average head.

I used the rubber whip from this kit once before I changed it out for another rubber whip that I have had for years. It’s pretty much just a larger version of the whip I received in this kit, so I can’t say that I hate it, it’s just way too small. I prefer whips that are big enough to get your hand around so you can keep a firm grasp and deliver intense stinging sensations that teeter along that fine line between good pain and too much pain.

The red and black wrist and ankle cuffs are fantastic. Both sets are lined with a plush faux fur lining, which I love! I have had cuffs that weren’t lined with a plush material and I ended up having my skin break open against the roughness, which I wouldn’t recommend ever trying because it’s painful and terrible. Also, if you go out in public, people start giving you weird looks and asking what happened to you. Cuffs that are lined with a lovely, comfortable material is always a good idea. The cuffs use a Velcro closure which I have come to prefer over any other type of closure. Velcro gives you a range of adjustability, so even if you have very tiny wrists like I do, the cuffs will fit around them and your hands won’t slide out.

To attach the wrist cuffs together, or to attach the wrists to the ankles so you achieve a sort of hogtying effect, you can use the 3-ring nylon tethers. They have a heart-shaped D ring on them, which adds just a little bit of playfulness to the item, and each tether is 36 inches long and fully adjustable so you can make them as short as you need them to be.

I have a consistent bad track record with restraints, and these are no exception. However, I am done blaming the product. I am certain that I am the problem. You see, I break restraints. All of them, within the first few uses, regardless of what they are made out of. Now you would think that because the rings that clasp together are made of metal that I wouldn’t be able to break them, and I have been thinking that too, but I do. The only way I can explain what happens is by telling you that when I have an orgasm while restrained I suddenly, within seconds, morph into the Hulk. Nothing stands a chance.

Again (I really feel like I have to stress this), I can’t blame the Beginner Bondage Kit for the fact that I broke it. It don’t think it’s a craftsmanship error or a product that isn’t made well because I have had quite a few other (some quite expensive) restraints that I have ended up breaking within the first three times that I’ve used them. Some really creepy amount of strength comes from me which I can’t help but be a little disappointed with, considering I break restraints, but also a little impressed, to be honest. Luckily, when it comes to restraints that use small metal rings, like those in this kit, it can be fixed with a pair of pliers, which is fortunate!

If you’re looking for an all-in-one solution to make your bondage fantasies come to life, I think the Beginner Bondage Kit is a good choice, especially considering it’s only $39.95. If you were to buy the sex accessories and a set of restraints and tethers individually, you would definitely end up paying more than the price of this kit, which makes it a pretty awesome buy.

When I first received the Heart Double Slapper and took my first good look at it, I thought the top of the slapper was broken because the leather is layered and at top of the slapper–where the studs lining the handle and base stop–all the way to the very top, the leather is separated. Of course this makes perfect sense as it is called the “double slapper”, but what this name and the design of the slapper leads one to believe is that when you deliver a smack, the slapper is supposed to come down in two, very rapid strokes. This doesn’t exactly happen in-practice. When used against my palm very, very slowly, I see how the leather slaps against itself in what is supposed to be the two rapid strokes against the skin, but anything faster than that merely feels like one stroke with nothing else going on. This, however, does not take very much away from the Heart Double Slapper.

The one and only whip I have in my possession is made of rubber. It delivers extremely light sensations, it doesn’t leave bruises and it doesn’t make you look back on the previous night when you wake up in the morning with a sore ass. The Heart Double Slapper, however, delivers very firm smacks that, from the very moment it grazes your skin, it sends immediate goosebumps throughout your entire body. It wakes you up, which is precisely what any kind of kink in the bedroom is supposed to do. It’s an amazing thing.

I have found that I really have to be in the mood for the Heart Double Slapper because the amount of force behind it when it smacks against your skin is sometimes just a little too much. Being tied up (if you are a responsible and consenting adult and the person tying you up is another responsible and consenting adult) is awesome. The Tickled Pink Restraints are incredibly soft. They feel comfortable around your wrists and the Velcro closures allow you to adjust how tight they are. While they are Velco, they are surprisingly durable and don’t slowly come apart when you start wiggling around. There is a black strap that is sewn on to each cuff , each with a good amount of length so they can be tied together, giving you and your partner complete control over how tight the cuffs are around your wrists and how tight and close together the tethers are tied.

I have been known to break restraints in the act. I have broken the metal rings of Under the Bed Restraints, but the Tickled Pink Restraints, while more comfortable than any other restraints I have tried by far without being threatening, are still intact and unbroken after more uses than the other restraints I have used that have broken during use.

If you have ever been curious about bondage, but have been turned off by the look and/or feel of other restraints, you should definitely check out the Tickled Pink Restraints. With a price tag of $14, there’s really no reason not to check them out.

Nipple clamps! There are no less than a ton of different types, styles and sizes of nipple clamps out there, all sporting their extremely confusing product descriptions and measurements which makes you start to think you must be the weird one who hasn’t measured the circumference of your nipples and don’t know if they would be considered small, medium, or large. When I first began looking for nipple clamps, I started clicking on just any set that looked cool and thought would feel great, but as soon as I started reading reviews and seeing people comment on how maybe larger-sized nipples would fit in a certain clamp better or smaller-sized nipples would definitely fit another type of clamps more suitably, I was completely confused, to say the least. Unable to shake this level of confusion, I asked around and most of the advice I received from seasoned nipple clamp users was to start with a set of tweezer clamps. Granted, I did not take that advice at first and still went for the clamps that looked the coolest. So, after a while, I started looking for other types of nipple clamps that would suit my needs on a more frequent basis.

The very awesome folks over at Good Vibrations recently sent me a pair of Nipple Charmers beaded tweezer clamps and low and behold, all those people who had advised me to check out tweezer clamps were right. They are definitely the nipple clamps for the every person.

Tweezer clamps fit all shapes and sizes of nipples because they are adjustable; by moving a small O ring that sits at the bottom of the clamp up, you can adjust them to fit you comfortably and continue tightening them until they feel just right. The Nipple Charmers beaded tweezer clamps are made of metal with black plastic tips. Hanging off each clamp are two small beads and a charm that do not obstruct your nipple in any way; they are merely simple and fun and make you feel pretty whilst getting your kink on. I received the blue beads with star charm clamps seen in the picture above, but Good Vibrations also has pink available and they have a flower charm. I like the stars better, they’re just a little more fun and whimsical to me while also being very functional nipple clamps.

At first, I was a little confused by the O ring adjuster on the tweezer clamps, but leave it to me to be utterly confused by something so straightforward. I could not, for the life of me, figure out if I tightened them first and then put them on my nipples, and if so would I break the O ring if I tried to pry them open while they were adjusted tight to fit me? Or, I could tighten them afterward, but that initiated an awkward time of trying to keep the clamp on my nipple, while also being scared that I would go to move the O ring up and it would go up too far and then I would be in agony while trying to rip the clamp off of me. That would not be good. The first few times, I borrowed my partner’s hands to hold the clamp in place over my nipple and then adjusted it to my liking and once I was comfortable enough with them, I just held and pinched the clamp together on my own while adjusting the fit using the O ring. I think it was more my nerves that wouldn’t allow me to figure it out on my own at first rather than the tweezer clamps themselves, which now, after a few times of using them, work easily and flawlessly.

Tweezer clamps are most definitely the beginners clamps because they allow you to test the waters in terms of how much bite you want on your nipples and let you graduate to more intensity as you get more comfortable with them. I really enjoy using the Nipple Charmers beaded tweezer clamps and I can definitely use them more often than I can use my Butterfly Endurance Clamps.

Tristan Taormino is the first adult film director that I had an immense curiosity about. What sets “Rough Sex” apart from most porn out there, is that Taormino interviewed each woman before showing their scene, asking them what their fantasies were, what they wanted to capture on film and even who they wanted in the scenes with them. To give your actors total control over what they wanted this film to be and how they want to appear in it, and even who they see themselves acting in the scenes with is absolutely amazing and increases the chemistry the actors have significantly. To see people really enjoying themselves and each other is something anyone can get off to.

In the first scene, we see Adrianna Nicole and Marco Banderas. After Adrianna Nicole’s interview, we see her getting into the shower, inserting a butt plug before stepping in, as if she knows what is going to happen and instead of what we see next giving us the impression that it is non-consensual, we know that by her doing this it is really something that is set up and completely consensual. Banderas walks into the house and sneaks up on Nicole in the shower. The scene is full of blowjobs, hair pulling, even a Hitachi Magic Wand and while I didn’t necessarily enjoy Marco Banderas, who to me is just a little too model-esque for my liking and who I don’t necessarily see as the “intruder” type, especially considering his sex face is a little crazy and funny looking, the two did have great chemistry on film.

The second scene features Satine Phoenix, whose ultimate fantasy is to be taken while stranded out in the desert after her car breaks down. She is joined by Derrick Pierce, an extremely muscle-bound, tattooed and beautiful man. This scene surprised me, because while it left little to the imagination and we knew they would end up in a much-heated fuck fest, I was surprised and extremely turned on for Pierce to really go for it, slapping, pinching and scratching and holding very little back. Throughout the scene we see Satine Phoenix have welts rise up and scratch marks are left on her skin, which I loved. Another thing that really made this scene work for me is the amount of dirty talk that came from Derrick Pierce. He is surely someone I would love to check out in other films, as long as they are control-based scenes that he obviously does remarkably well.

But guys aren’t the only ones in control in “Rough Sex”. The third scene is a femdom scene by Francesca Le and Christian. Christian, who is the powerful, corporate drone by day comes home to his neglected wife and while he’s yelling at someone on the phone, she changes into a sexy piece of black lingerie, thigh-highs and gloves. In this scene, Francesca Le is degrading Christian and is chock-full of verbal commends. There is spanking and paddling, foot worship and a whole lot of spitting.

Scene four features Marie Luv and Julius Ceazher. The scene revolves around Marie Luv getting caught cheating on her boyfriend and he makes her pay via verbal degradation, slapping, a blowjob and very raw, intense passion and fucking. This is one of the best scenes of the entire film, just because of the amount of verbal attacks and solid chemistry.

The last scene is saved for Sasha Grey and Danny Wylde. This is a switch scene; at first Danny Wylde is seen with the upper-hand, choking Sasha Grey after playing pool and talking about rough sex. Sasha Grey divulges that one of her hard limits is breast slapping, but after they quickly get into the fucking, Danny Wylde slaps her breasts (after a rimjob given by Sasha Grey, which is incredibly, incredibly hot!) and that’s when the switch happens. Immediately noticing his mistake, Sasha Grey takes control, making him pay for his mistake. Several times in the scene we see the two smiling at each other, which shows the amount of chemistry between these two actors and really sells them as a couple who are enjoying themselves and who are enjoying the power being placed over them by each other.

“Rough Sex” is something for everyone and anyone who has ever had the intense need to be dominated or to dominate over a partner. It’s exciting, passionate, surprising, rewarding and incredibly hot. It’s porn you can actually get off to, instead of just ending up laughing at or wondering how someone got where and why are they all of a sudden fucking. This was my first look into the work of Tristan Taormino and I can’t wait to see more.

Taking the Pinwheel out of its packaging, I very hesitantly glided my finger over the wheel fully equipped with steel points–Twenty-two of them, to be exact and my first reaction was to quickly get my hand away from it; the feeling of it is intense and not what I expected in the least.
