Butterfly Kiss Vibrator Review

Butterfly Kiss vibrator I have read seemingly countless reviews of the Butterfly Kiss vibrator from a multitude of different reviewers with different sex toy preferences. I have researched, watched video reviews, read lengthy written reviews, and every time someone talks about the Butterfly Kiss vibrator, they have something very positive to say about it. When I had the opportunity to review this vibrator, thanks to the awesome folks over at Good Vibrations, I decided to give it a shot just because of all of the positive things I have heard about it. I officially believe all of the people who have written and said such amazing things about this toy are out of their minds.

I have never been so bored by a vibrator than I was by the Butterfly Kiss. It not only bored me, but I attempted to get myself very worked up with another toy and then use the Butterfly Kiss to see if I could get any pleasure out of it whatsoever and it actually turned me off. Every time I attempted to use this vibrator, it lasted a matter of minutes before it frustrated me so much that I couldn’t take it anymore and put it away.

The Butterfly Kiss vibrator is made of jelly and is 7 inches in total length with only 3 inches insertable length. Every single review I have seen of this vibrator, not to mention the product description of this toy, have mentioned how absolutely amazing this toy is for g-spot stimulation and I kind of feel cheated by the Vagina Gods for not blessing me with a g-spot located within the first three inches of my vagina. As I have mentioned before, mine is located very deep within me. Like, stick your entire finger in there and reach up and you just may be able to just graze the g-spot. Maybe. If you’re lucky. I need some serious length and 3 inches just isn’t going to do it. The jelly material makes this vibrator incredibly flexible and bendy, and is also kind of floppy.

I received the Butterfly Kiss in purple, although it’s looking more blue in the picture above. I assure you, however, it is very purple. If purple isn’t your thing, Good Vibrations also carries it in pink. The insertable tip of the vibrator is shaped very oddly. It is essentially a bulb that measures 1 1/4 inches in diameter and it tapers down into a much thinner shaft and then juts out to form the butterfly-shaped clitoral stimulator. Two very small antennas vibrator to provide stimulation to your clit and there are also two butterfly wings that vibrate against your labia. There are three speeds that you can cycle through by pushing one button at the very bottom of the vibrator. I can only think to describe the speeds as barely noticeable, semi-noticeable and noticeable but still not enough to provide you any real stimulation at all. Granted, it does take two AAA batteries, which are inserted at the very bottom of the vibrator by twisting off the plastic end, and I already know not to expect very much from a toy that takes AAA batteries. However, this was just ridiculously unnoticeable and boring and really, not enough to even get you worked up enough to want to stick it out. It just isn’t possible.

The product description on Good Vibrations’ website says that the Butterfly Kiss vibrator is waterproof and I’m inclined to believe them, but I don’t know how well it holds up by being submerged in water because I couldn’t deal with this vibrator long enough to even want to bring it to the tub with me.

I have not been so disappointed in a vibrator in a while. I’ve really disliked some vibrators, but this one just had me thinking “What could this possibly do for all of those people who have been raving about it for so long!?” After trying very hard to make this vibrator work for me, I’m inclined to believe that all of the women out there who have been saying nothing but great things about it are lying; I can’t think of any other excuse.

Jelly sex toys are pretty difficult to care for. They can melt if kept in humid areas and if they are kept unprotected with other toys, they can melt onto your other toys and ruin something you may actually like. Jelly cannot be sterilized or sanitized, so don’t share it. To clean, use warm water and toy cleaner or a very mild anti-bacterial soap. I usually let toys made out of sticky-like materials air dry because everything will stick to it and as soon as I see little hairs and fibers stuck to it, I need to clean it again and it just poses to be a vicious cycle, so air drying is good.

The Butterfly Kiss vibrator was a gigantic flop and I would not recommend it at all, to anyone. Even with its very inexpensive $18 price tag, I wouldn’t even recommend someone who is curious about it to pick it up and give it a try. I have no idea how the Butterfly Kiss vibrator has gotten so popular, but I firmly believe that this vibrator is so bad that it would even bore complete beginners. There are a ton of other, more-pleasurable and enticing toys out there in the same price range as the Butterfly Kiss.

G-Ki — The Easy Way to Find Your G-Spot

July 27, 2010 by Holly
Filed Under: Love & Sex, Sex Toy Reviews, Vibrators

Gi-Ki The G-Ki vibrator from Je Joue is an innovative luxury vibrator with some pretty lengthy aspirations, which make it full of little surprises and features.

Many people claim that the G-spot does not exist. I have always thought that the bulk of those people were men who just couldn’t find their lady’s G-spot. Then I think some scientists were also having a bit of a location problem (especially considering the G-spot is not located in the same place in every woman) and decided to conduct a study so they could prove the myth that is the G-spot. As soon as that “scientific evidence” came out, I believe that convinced some women that they didn’t have a G-spot and so the myth continues. But it does exist, I assure you, you just may have a little trouble trying to find yours at first.

While I have known the location of my G-spot for quite some time, I have been looking for a vibrator that could reach it, considering how oddly high it is. Seriously, it’s high, as in way up there, as in whenever I hear a sex educator or sex toy retail person claim that you can get a small toy and reach your G-spot because it should be located within 3 inches of your vaginal canal, I laugh and laugh and then after laughing, I laugh some more. I have had three vibrators specifically made for G-spot stimulation and out of those three, I have one that can reach it. Because of its high placement, I not only need something with a good upward angle, I also need something pretty long. I also like my toys to be on the thicker side, so as you can tell, I’ve been looking for quite a few features in one toy and you may be thinking I have set myself up for failure.

That is precisely why I was so interested in having the opportunity to review the G-Ki, which Babeland was so very generous to send to me for this review.

The G-Ki has received an immense amount of praise, but I wanted to know if it was receiving such positive reviews because it is a higher-priced ($99), luxury vibrator and the fact that it is made by Je Joue, the same brains behind the SaSi, which also received a great deal of praise, or if the G-Ki could really be my G-spot’s BFF.

The G-Ki is made of 100% body safe silicone, it has five speeds and pulsations, it’s waterproof and it has two spots where if you push the sphere down, it is easily adjusted for a more intense curve to hit your G-spot. It has a bulbous head that tapers down into a thinner shaft and depending on and how far you adjust your G-Ki for more of a curve, the base of the vibrator where the power buttons are located can sit against your clit and vibrate while you’re also stimulating your G-spot. Amazing concept! Bravo, Je Joue!

The G-Ki arrives packaged in a decorated cardboard box and inside that box is another, this one is black and super classy, tied with a ribbon.

G-Ki by Je Joue

When you open it up, the G-Ki vibrator is nestled in perfectly-fitting plastic and your user manuals and magnetic charger are underneath the plastic, which you have to lift up to get to.

G-Ki by Je Joue

When I first took the G-Ki out of its box, without ever using it before, I turned it on and felt the vibrations in my hand. I was impressed, delighted, excited and could not wait to get it inside of me. The vibrations felt incredibly intense, all five different pulsations and speeds. Terribly eager to see how my vagina would react to the vibrations I was classifying as “Oh yes, this is going to be awesome!”, when I did use it, the vibrations just didn’t seem as intense as they were in my hand, which I thought was weird because I would like to think that my vagina is a little more sensitive than my hand. Had all of my escapades with the Hitachi desensitized me!? I’m going to go with no on that one, if only because it makes me feel better. I know that I do need a significant amount of power behind a vibration and I like my vibrations to be steady, constant and yes, awesome. While the G-Ki did bring me to orgasm, I’m quite fortunate that it is a G-spot vibrator instead of merely a clitoral stimulator because the G-spot stimulation was great, while the vibrations leave just a little something to be desired.

I really like how soft the G-Ki is, I love that you can basically customize it to your G-spot and it did hit my G-spot with very minimal effort. The first time I used it, I squirted quite a bit which is always a great indicator that you’ve found a pleasantly effective G-spot stimulator. It wasn’t an all-time high on my ability-to-squirt meter (yes, I have a meter) but it was respectable. Each time I have used the G-Ki, I have squirted, except for one time when I used it in the bath tub, but I generally do not enjoy bringing toys to the tub and much prefer a book, but I wanted to test out G-Ki’s ability to hold up fully submerged. It did wonderfully and didn’t lose power in the least. The G-Ki is also incredibly quiet. I was really surprised by its ability to stay at a very low volume, safe to use in a room with the door closed without anyone ever knowing what you’re doing in there.

After much fiddling around with G-Ki’s ability to bend, I have tried every angle the shaft can lock into and the only real problem I have found with it is that I really, really wish the vibrator could sit on my clit without having to maneuver it in a way where I have to rock back and forth on it. There is a time for rocking back and forth on a toy, sure, usually it’s when I’m sitting at my computer working, which is always great fun and certainly makes the work day more entertaining, but when I am really in the mood for the squirting-inducing orgasms of the G-Ki and find myself mid-play and really want the vibrations on my clit, I have found that it just does not line up with me correctly. That was also a disappointment.

Overall I think the G-Ki is definitely something to look into if you enjoy your G-spot stimulation (and what woman doesn’t? Seriously.) Or if you believe that you don’t have a G-spot, because you do and the G-Ki will find it.

Laya Spot: a Clitoral Stimulator that Will Take Less than an Eternity to Get You Off

Laya Spot Let me preface this review with a little story.

A few years ago the SaSi clitoral stimulator came out and it was attracting a great deal of attention. Everywhere you looked, from bloggers to sex industry experts, it was popping up all over the place and they had nothing but great things to say about it and each and every single time, the phrase “It’s just like oral sex!” popped up. I was intrigued. In fact, I was more than intrigued, I was in lust. I love oral sex; it’s great, I can never get enough of it, so a toy that received numerous praise for giving off those same kind of sensations made me really, really want it. The reason why I do not have a SaSi, even after being in lust with it for years now, is because it carries a $150 price tag. Yeah, not happening.

Seeing how popular the SaSi had become and how those who couldn’t afford the clitoral stimulator were still keeping their eye on it, I received an email featuring clitoral stimulators that are kinda sorta like the SaSi, except they came with a lower price tag. Not long after I had the chance to review the Better Than Chocolate clitoral stimulator by Nomi Tang. Long story short, I really hated the Better Than Chocolate. Unless I had a good number of hours–yes, hours!–to dedicate to myself with the inclusion of additional toys or my partner, I didn’t even bother. In fact, it has pretty much been ignored for quite some time now.

The Laya Spot by Fun Factory is very much like the Better Than Chocolate clitoral stimulator. It’s essentially the same toy. It’s an external vibrator shaped ergonomically to hug the curves of your body.

Laya Spot

The Laya Spot is super cute. While the Better Than Chocolate could be classified as “elegant” the Laya Spot is like its quirky, cuter sister that’s a lot more fun. And it is more fun not only in its appearance, but also in its entire execution.

The Laya Spot is a multi-function, multi-speed vibrator. By pressing the small ‘plus’ sign on the top of the toy and holding it in for five seconds, it starts a straight-forward vibration at its lowest level. As you hold the button down, the vibrations gradually become more intense. When you press the ‘plus’ sign button again it will cycle through three differing vibrations and pulsation patterns and by pressing the ‘minus’ sign button, the intensity of the vibration will gradually decrease. These controls make it so that you can pinpoint exactly what type of vibration you find most pleasurable at the perfect level of intensity.

Let’s talk about the intensity of the vibrations for a second. They are good. I’d even go as far as to say that they are great, especially for a toy that takes two AAA batteries. No, they’re not going to rock your world or rub your clit right off, but they were certainly intense enough to get me off three times in about 30 minutes my first time using the Laya Spot and two of those orgasms clocked in at around 10 minutes in.

A friend of mine has already made it known that I prefer very intense vibration and pressure and because the Laya Spot is made of Elastomed, which is a hard material while also feeling soft to the touch, I was able to press it up against myself with enough pressure for it to feel pretty great. While it feels great, it didn’t get me off every single time I used it. The first time was definitely the most intense and it has trickled down in its amazingness the more I’ve been using it, but I think it’s just because I really like variety and sometimes I could have used a little more intensity in the vibrations. You can also use water-based and silicone-based lube with Elastomed and the Laya Spot came with a one-use packet of silicone-based lube that I really did not like, but only because I am not a fan of silicone-based lube. I’ve found that not using lube at all with this toy worked best for me.

Laya Spot

The Laya Spot has become a fantastic working buddy. For a few days now, while sitting at my desk getting my work for the day done, I have sat on the Laya Spot, with the curve of it pressed perfectly against me. A very slight rocking motion on it and a few minutes later and we have a solid leader in the ‘Ways to Have Fun While Working’ game.

The Laya Spot is definitely a great clitoral stimulator and for $20 less than the Better Than Chocolate, it’s not only a better clitoral stimulator in terms of how it performs, but it’s also a much better deal.

The Taffy Tickler Water Buddy — You Have Been Warned

Taffy Tickler vibrator

The Taffy Tickler Water Buddy looks really cool. When I first saw it on Vibrators.com, who had contacted me to partner for a review, I let the possibility of reviewing this vibrator marinate in my head for a little while before I made a final decision. After a few days I went back to it and was still completely intrigued by its appearance, so I decided to take a chance with something I wouldn’t normally review–something completely different and maybe just a little off the wall. What’s the worst thing that could happen anyway, right?

So when the packaged arrived in a very discreet and plain white box, I immediately ripped the box open, eager to see what this vibrator looked like up-close. It looked exactly as it did on the website. It has a bulbous head that tapers into its thinner shaft. It’s blue and white, which I think is awesome since a great deal of my toys fall into the “pretty girly colors” category and I like to have some variety when it comes to colors with my toys. Bottom line, if I get a toy that is not pink or purple, consider me a happy camper. I was still just as intrigued by the Taffy Tickler Water Buddy as I was when I first saw it. There is a little section cut out of the bottom left corner of the packaging with a small sphere sample of the material used on the vibrator (note: you are not able to touch the actual vibrator so no one has had their grubby fingers all over it or anything) so you can see for yourself what it feels like before taking it out of the package.

The product description of the Taffy Tickler Water Buddy on the website says that this vibrator may look a little intimidating, but assures the customer that the “petals” are “extremely soft silicone.” To the toy and product description’s credit, the spikes (I’m sorry, they do not resemble petals and no one will ever see or touch this toy and immediately think of the word petals) are indeed pretty soft to the touch and cover the entire vibrator over a plastic vibe. However, they are only soft if you are running your hand over it so lightly you’re barely touching it. They are not extremely soft, but they are soft enough that I was still intrigued and willing to give this vibe a shot.

Taffy Tickler vibrator

Before I tried the Taffy Tickler Water Buddy, I was talking about it with a friend of mine who had reviewed another variation of the Taffy Tickler line of products and gave me some very pertinent tips on how to go about using it. Taking her instruction very seriously, I used a spectacularly generous amount of water-based lube and I also warmed myself up with another toy that was significantly larger than the Taffy Tickler Water Buddy just to make sure I was completely prepared for it.

I wasn’t. I was not prepared for it at all. I used so much lube that I literally gasped when I saw how much was missing from the container of my favorite lube on the planet and it did not help at all. Not one little bit.

The Taffy Tickler Water Buddy does not tickle. The sensations felt by it cannot even compare to how being tickled feels, even rough tickling where you don’t know if someone is trying to in fact tickle you or dig their fingers into your body as hard as they can. This vibrator is painful. I attempted to use it externally first, which is the safest bet when you’re literally afraid to put something inside of you and usually, if something can spark the attention of my clit then we’re good to go. This vibrator did not feel pleasurable at all. In fact, it felt annoying. After a few deep breaths I tried to insert it and it would not go in. This made no sense to me, given the fact that there was a considerable amount of lube on the toy itself and on me, so I gave it a little more force, moved it in and out of myself exactly three times before I started shaking my head and saying the word ‘no’ repeatedly.

I had attempted to use it by solely holding it very lightly against me with the vibration on and the vibrations contained in this vibrator are really great. They are intense and there are multiple speeds which can be adjusted by turning the dial at the bottom of the battery compartment. But while I did enjoy the intensity of the vibrations, given off by two AA batteries, my brain kept focusing on the severe discomfort I was in because of the sensation of the spikes. I should also mention that that this vibrator is called the Water Buddy for a reason–It is completely waterproof so you can take it into the bath, shower, pool, hot tub or any other water-filled environment.

The sensations felt by the Taffy Tickler Water Buddy is something I never want to feel again. It is extremely painful, it makes your vagina burn kind of like a urinary tract infection, but much, much worse. That pissed off face the model on the package of this vibrator has? Yeah, I’m now fully convinced she has in fact used this product because I have been making the same, exact facial expression since I attempted to use it.

The Taffy Tickler Water Buddy, in all of its 6 1/2 inches, is anything but a pleasurable experience and would be better fitting if it were marketed as some sort of sick torture device. Please consider this review as the universal warning to stay away from this sort of silicone dollop spikey texture at all costs. Please.

Vibrators.com 468x60

A huge thank you goes out to Vibrators.com for giving me the opportunity to review the Taffy Tickler Water Buddy. I’m sorry I didn’t like it more, but they stock a great deal of different vibrators, all of which I’m betting feel a lot better than this one, so check them out.

The Turtle from Papaya Toys

Papaya Toys Turtle packaging

Papaya Toys is a company I am really excited about. While I did see a review of one of their toys on one of the blogs I read religiously, I didn’t take a closer look at them until I received the opportunity to try out their products for myself. And I am so glad I did.

When I pulled their website up I did immediately look through their line of products, which include four different intriguing, unique and high-quality vibrators, but after that I took a look at their commitment to quality and if one thing is very apparent about Papaya Toys from the get-go, it’s that they care. They care about their products and the way they are manufactured, about their collaborators, about the environment and mostly, about their customers. They have such a refreshing and inspiring way of business that I truly hope more companies out there in the sex toy industry catch on and take some helpful tips. The entire industry would be better for it.

Papaya Toys use only the highest-grade materials in their products, so you know that they are completely body-safe. To make sure that their products will do what they are intended to and will work with and for your body, they have collaborated with sexual health professional Richard Wagner, also known as Dr. Dick, who has been in private practice as a sex therapist for over 30 years, and has also been involved in sex education and several sexual enrichment projects. He obviously knows what he’s talking about when it comes to attending to your sexual needs and desires, so if he is not only endorsing a company, but playing a rather significant role within it, you know they have to have a little sparkle that’s worth checking out.

I was given the opportunity to try out the Papaya Toys Turtle vibrator, being told that the Turtle is what most sex toy newcomers often choose from their selection. While I am not exactly a beginner when it comes to sex toys, I have only been using them for the last two years, which is a significantly short amount of time when you think about it. There is a great deal to discover about your body and about your sexual desires when you open yourself to it, which is why I do like featuring toys for beginners here. That, and if I can compel someone who had never thought about indulging in a sex toy before to go out and pick one up, I think I did my job as a fellow sexual being.

Papaya Toys Turtle packaging

The Turtle came packaged in an elegant and visually appealing box that will house this vibrator until the end of time. I am in love with it. It has a beautiful design on the front as well as on the flap that lifts to display the Turtle nested in a groove it fits in perfectly. It also comes with a black silk pouch for safekeeping.

Papaya Toys Turtle

When I first opened the box, I was completely blown away by just the appearance of the Turtle. The packaging is gorgeous and the toy itself compliments it completely. I was a bit surprised by the size of the Turtle. Sure, I looked at the length measurement in its product description, but there’s something about reading 9.5 inches in length and then SEEING 9.5 inches in length that is so completely different. Or I just have a problem with measurements, which is extremely likely.

So, to give you an idea of just how long this vibrator is, here it is along my hand/wrist.

Papaya Toys Turtle

While it can definitely be a little overwhelming to some, especially those not experienced with sex toys, I was pleasantly surprised by the Turtle. It is super soft, made of 100% medical grade silicone, and firm enough to provide a decent amount of pressure if you hold it firmly against yourself but also soft enough to be comfortable, whether you use it internally or externally. It also has a little bit of give to it around the head which makes it able to bend slightly. Speaking of the head, the Turtle has a very interesting shape. It has a rounded head that tapers down into the shaft and once you get to the shaft, it gets thicker again. It is definitely long enough that it will reach very deeply in women who have longer vaginal canals as it measures around 6 1/2 inches in insertable length and you will also have a few inches left to effectively hold onto to thrust with.

Papaya Toys Turtle

The Turtle also has a bit of texture that looks really pretty, but also feels incredible. I usually can’t feel texture when using something internally, I always say my vagina is missing some sort of sensitivity component that makes it so that it will not feel or react to texture of any kind, but when used very slowly I could feel most of the lines and raised texture of the Turtle, which is the first time that has happened to me with a vibrator, so bonus points for you, Papaya Toys!

Papaya Toys Turtle

The Turtle takes two AA batteries that are inserted by twisting the bottom half of the vibrator off, which is located right above the ring of blue at the base. It has a removable battery compartment that you take out, put the batteries inside of it, put the compartment back inside the base of the vibrator and twist back on. It has very simple, yet also unique controls. The Turtle has three different pulsation variations, one is a straight-forward constant vibrations, another is a steady pulsation and the last is a seemingly-random-but-it-does-loop variation of pulsations. What makes the controls so unique is the fact that the intensity of each vibration can be increased and decreased with a push of a button and when you’re done using the Turtle, turn it off and put it away… the next time you take it out and turn it on, it will remember what setting you were on and the intensity of the vibration. The only problem I had with the controls of the Turtle–and it is a slight slip that is easily corrected–is that I accidentally push the button that changes the vibration and while that could be a major bonus for those who like unexpected variety, when it comes to my toys, I usually enjoy them most when they’re a constant vibration that is at its highest level of intensity–and the Turtle is no different.

I ended up using a lot of lube with this vibrator. It’s on the thicker side and may not be for total beginners or someone not used to having something inside of them, but if you’re just a beginner when it comes to sex toys, you really shouldn’t have a problem with its girth and it’s always wise to use a bit of water-based lube (no silicone lube, ever with this toy) when you’re playing with a toy anyway. The Turtle can make you feel a little sore if you thrust it vigorously for a long enough amount of time, but that really goes for any toy by any company out there, so I don’t think it’s a reflection on the Turtle in the least, but worth mentioning nonetheless.

To add to its amazing list of attributes, the Turtle is also completely waterproof and able to be fully submerged in water, so you can take it with you into the bath or shower. All in all, this is an amazing vibrator perfect for anyone at any level of experience when it comes to sex toys. You will love the tapered head that feels amazing when inserted, its girth is satisfying and will fill you up and its intensity is fabulous. It is also pretty amazing to use when you’re solely looking for clitoral stimulation. Definitely a great buy and when you purchase from Papaya Toys, you’re purchasing from a company that actually cares about what they are doing and take enormous pride in their selection of products, which is refreshing to say the least.

Papaya Toys also has a little something for you, dear reader. They are giving away a Papaya toy a week over on Facebook and all you have to do to enter to get one for yourself is comment on their wall that you want to win one. Cool, right?

Thank you so much to the awesome people over at Papaya Toys for giving me the opportunity to review the Turtle vibrator.

Swirled G-Spotting Goodness

May 26, 2010 by Holly
Filed Under: Love & Sex, Sex Toy Reviews, Vibrators

G-Swirl Vibe I, like most women out there, am a huge fan of g-spot stimulation. For me, I can get a little tricky sometimes when it comes to sex because I just don’t enjoy vaginal stimulation very much. It is virtually impossible to bring me to orgasm in the very vanilla, but also sometimes very romantic missionary position; I’m generally not a fan and never have been. Clitoral stimulation is a must if you plan on spending any time inside of me if you’re not going to throw my legs over your shoulders and stimulate the g-spot.

Any woman who has ever felt the downright amazing, eyes rolling into the back of your head sensation of when you have something pressing up against your g-spot knows that all of those studies conducted by so-called researchers who claim the g-spot doesn’t exist know that they are wildly mistaken. And if you’re a woman who has ever agreed with any of those studies that often receive a great deal of attention by the media and people from both sides of the g-spot aisle, may I introduce you to the G-Swirl Vibe?

The G-Swirl Vibe is a silicone vibrator made specifically for stimulating your g-spot. It is made by Fun Factory, a widely-respected sex toy manufacturer whose toys are always made in great taste with the highest quality standards in mind. The G-Swirl was designed specifically by the staff at Good Vibrations, where it is sold exclusively and who have also been kind enough to give me the opportunity to try it out.

G-Swirl Vibe

Before even taking the G-Swirl out of its box I was amazed with it. It arrived in a plain, discreet brown box, but when I opened that, the vibe is presented in a box much different than most come in. The G-Swirl box is extremely fun and informative! The front is made of see-through plastic where you get a good look at the vibe waiting inside, the Good Vibrations logo is present in the top right corner and the bottom informs you that the G-Swirl is certified silicone, made for g-spot and P-Spot stimulation, has strong vibrations and is anal safe and water resistant.

G-Swirl Vibe

The back of the box opens like a book. It is held closed by a magnet and as soon as you open it, there is information about the silicone material and what you should know about the G-Swirl.

G-Swirl Vibe

Also included with the G-Swirl are two AA batteries needed and a small packet of Good Vibrations lube, which I think is amazing and more sex toys should come with. It’s very considerate to the consumer and means less trips to the store.

G-Swirl Vibe

Like I already briefly mentioned, the G-Swirl Vibe is made of certified silicone, which is extremely body-safe, non-porous, durable and long-lasting. It is also incredibly soft and smooth and doesn’t have so much drag that it becomes grabby or uncomfortable while thrusting. It has a swirled texture to it that only enhances your experience with this vibrator, but it isn’t so textured that it’s uncomfortable or too prominent for those who don’t enjoy textured toys.

Right above the plastic base where the battery compartment and turn dial control is located, is a ribbed section that extends the width of the vibe and because this vibe is flexible enough to thrust upward but still hard enough to provide a good amount of pressure, if you have it bent upward just right, you can position the ribbed base to rub up against your clitoris. This base also makes it completely safe for anal use and for stimulating a man’s prostate. This vibe sure is versatile!

G-Swirl Vibe

The lube that comes with the G-Swirl is very handy and works extremely well with this vibe. It is a water-based lube (remember, silicone-based lubricant does not play nice with silicone toys and you shouldn’t use them unless you don’t like your silicone toy) that is much more watery than other water-based lubes I have. While applying it to the vibe, it ran right down the toy and all over the place which wasn’t so great and it had a very subtle scent that I wasn’t fond of, but that really had no bearing over how well it worked because I did enjoy how it quickly slicked up the vibe and made inserting that much easier and using the vibe itself for clitoral stimulation also felt a lot better with a good amount of lube.

The dial control at the base of the vibrator is very uniquely designed and easy to use. It has an ergonomic shape to it that fits in your hand perfectly while in use. By turning the dial in any direction it will begin with a very subtle vibration and the vibration will become stronger as you continue to turn the dial. Unlike any other vibe I’ve used, the dial does not stop when you hit the most intense vibration, instead it turns off and then begins again at its weakest vibration. However, this function may pose a problem for anyone out there who keeps turning the dial expecting the vibration to continue getting more intense to only have it shut off at the worst time. The turn dial also has a raised plastic pattern on it that is common among Fun Factory toys and gives the whole vibe a more fun and exciting look to it.

The only thing I do not like about the G-Swirl is its battery compartment. I had no idea how to get it open to insert the batteries until reading the user manual and even after I did, I gave it to my partner to open to see if he could make sense of it because I could not. Luckily, he was able to get it open but it took me quite a well to figure out how to do it on my own because even after seeing how it was done, it’s hard to get open. Good Vibrations has heard this complaint before and made a video about what you get when you purchase the G-Swirl and exactly how the battery compartment opens and closes.

I loved every single sensation that this vibrator delivered. It inserts very easily, it has a very noticeable and just drastic enough curve to it, unlike some other vibrators made specifically for g-spotting I’ve used that didn’t curve enough to be much use to me, and the noticeable texture compliments the feel of the vibe without being too distracting. The G-Swirl is sure to hold a place of honor in anyone’s toy box.

Ripples Waterproof Mini Vibe: A Respectable Shower and Travel Companion

Ripples waterproof mini vibrator

When most of the sex toys we own happen to fall under the category of being big, bulky and needing a pouch, drawer or box to contain it, it’s a good idea to balance things out a bit and add something petite, easy to conceal and still powerful enough to make us swoon to our collection. The Ripples waterproof mini vibe is a toy that fits the bill exactly.

Ripples waterproof mini vibrator

Ripples is a super compact vibe by Doc Johnson, one of the biggest sex toy manufacturers out there. It arrives in a very standard, easy-to-open plastic box and the Ripple, as well as its matching plastic storage case, are nicely protected inside the box by a plastic casing.

Ripples waterproof mini vibrator

Ripples is perhaps the most easy-to-use, straight-forward vibe you will encounter. It is made of plastic with a velvet cote finish, making it extremely smooth and soft to the touch. This material is phthalates free, non-porous and compatible with both water-based and silicone-based lubricant. It is a gorgeous purple color and downright cute with its four ripples as the vibe tapers from the slim tip to its full width and ending with the battery compartment. It is 4 1/2 inches in total length, 3 1/4 inches insertable and 3 inches in circumference.

I was a little surprised with just how small the Ripples is, since it looked a lot bigger in the image I saw on the Good Vibrations website. However, even while being slightly disappointed with its size, I had to keep in mind that it was a mini vibe after all and after a few uses, it’s pretty darn powerful for how compact it is.

Ripples waterproof mini vibrator

Ripples takes just one AA battery, which you insert by simply twisting off the bottom of the vibe. While the insertable length of the vibe is a pale purple, the battery compartment is darker in color, shiny and has glitter on it. After inserting the battery, the cap twists right back on and it holds tight enough that Ripples is entirely 100% waterproof.

There is more detail–raised plastic that are arranged in a circular pattern around the base of the vibe, which is the bottom of the twist dial that cues the vibrations. The further you twist the dial, the more intense the vibrations become. I was completely surprised by the intensity of the vibrations. While not earth shattering by any means, they do provide enough stimulation for you to work up to an average clitoral orgasm. Ripples won’t rock you to your core, but it is satisfying–you just have to give yourself a little while to warm up to what its able to dole out.

Because of how small and light-weight Ripple is, it isn’t going to wear your hand out if you’re using it in the shower or in the bath. Please keep in mind that it is only 3 1/4 inches insertable length, so while you are able to insert this vibe, I would remain cautious while using it and stay away from thrusting, just in case it winds up further in you than you had meant and it could prove to be a little troublesome to get out. Because the base of this vibe is not flared in the least, do not even think of trying to use Ripples anally.

Ripples waterproof mini vibrator

While this vibe isn’t entirely discreet and looks like a vibrator on its own, when kept in the carrying case, hardly anyone will be able to tell that you’re packing a vibrator. The shape of the plastic storage case reminds me of a case for pantyliners, so if you’re bringing Ripples out with you on your travels and find yourself having to answer questions about what it is you’re carrying in the case, you can claim you have your period instead of admitting you’re going to get yourself off.

Ripples is a great addition to anyone’s collection. It is simple, to-the-point, minimal-frills, easy to store and the fact that it comes with its own storage case is a gift from the sex toy gods and delights me to no end. Its velvet cote is also extremely easy to clean, just give it a good wipe down with anti-bacterial soap or toy cleaner and warm water and put it back in its case for next time.

Luxurious, Sleek, Sexy, Modern–Gracious

Gracious vibrator The Gracious g-spot vibrator from Eden Fantasys is a very aptly-titled toy. Focusing solely on its fabulous visual appeal, this vibrator is luxurious, sleek, sexy and incredibly modern. At first glance, it instantly reminded me of a small kitchen appliance plucked right out of a contemporary magazine. That, doubled with the fact that it is the first rectangular-tipped vibrator I have seen, made it too intriguing to pass up.

The Gracious is a member of the Petite Couture Collection by Cal Exotics, which contains a number of other g-spotting and rabbit-style vibrators. While each member of the collection brings something unique and exciting to the vast, wide world of vibrators, the Gracious is by far the definition of simple, understated elegance.

It arrived packaged in a standard, cardboard box with the California Exotic Novelties logo clearly printed on the top flap, face, side and back and is decorated completely by an image of a stream of water of various blue hues. The stream of water and “Petite Couture Collection” lettering on the face of the box is slightly raised, giving it an innovative edge that matches the essence of the vibrator inside. The Gracious is protected in the box within a semi-thick plastic bag that you can also use as long-term storage for your new toy. The bag isn’t too durable though and can be easily ripped if you’re not super careful in handling it, so over time you may want to invest in an upgrade to make sure your toy stays protected.

The Gracious is 7 inches in length, 5 inches insertable, with a circumference of 4 inches. Its diameter is on the smaller scale, as are the other vibrators of the Petite Couture Collection, measuring at 1 1/4 inches. The size of this toy, while smaller than some of the more girthy fellas residing in my toy box, is a perfect choice for beginners, but its sleek design and intricacy will appear to even the most advanced and experienced. It is made from 100% medical grade Japanese matte silicone and is phthalates-free, hypoallergenic, latex-free, non-porous and completely body-safe. This toy is completely white, except for the base, battery compartment and control area, which is silver metal. Because it is made of silicone, it picks up lint, hair and fibers quite easily and on its white surface, everything it picks up can be seen easily. Because of its ability to pick up seemingly all loose hairs and lint it can come into contact with, it is ideal to give this vibrator a quick scrub with a mild soap or toy cleaner and warm water before and after every use.

The silver metal base of the Gracious is what makes this vibrator ooze of modern visual appeal. The battery compartment, which holds two AAA batteries, is located at the very bottom of the base and can be opened by twisting the small knob to the left. You will hear a slight clicking sound and the cap will come right off. Putting the cap back on can be a little tricky, so make sure you are trying to put it back on right. If you are holding the knob the right way, two small plastic notches will line up with the slits along the inside of the battery compartment. If they do not line up exactly, just turn the knob around because you’re trying to put it on backwards.

The battery compartment is styled this way to make sure no water will slip past it and is what makes the Gracious waterproof. While it is promoted as being a waterproof vibrator, after closer inspection of the base, I wasn’t fully comfortable with submerging it under water, in fear that water would be able to slip in around the cap of the battery compartment. While I cannot vouch for it being completely waterproof, I can say that it is at least water-resistant and performs greatly under the stream of a shower.

This vibrator has seven different vibrating, escalating and pulsating functions that can be easily turned on with the push of a button. The Gracious has a dedicated on/off button and when turned on, a red back light will turn on to let you know it’s working. By pushing the button directly underneath, the first vibration mode will begin–a very light and weak vibration. As you continue to push the lower button, the Gracious will cycle through each of its seven settings from straight-forward vibrations to random, escalating pulsations and many others, making this vibrator an excellent addition to the toy box of a woman who finds herself in need of variety with both vibrations as well as their intensity.

While the tip of the Gracious is squared-off, the sides are smoothed down for easy insertion. As you make your way down the vibrator, however, the edges become more rigid. Because this silicone is not silky to the touch, but rather matte with a gritty-like texture, I found that using ample amounts of lubrication with this toy is key. Keep in mind when you break out the lube that silicone vibrators do not play well with silicone-based lube, so be sure to have a good water-based lubricant handy; some of my personal favorites include Sliquid Organics Silk and Maximus.

Gracious vibrator side This vibrator has a subtle curve to it to provide ample g-spot penetration–in theory. The Gracious is soft, squishy and able to bend, but still firm enough to have no droop to it. It is more firm towards the base and tip, leaving the middle light enough to be able to bend a bit, giving you some leeway to be able to hit that sweet, toe curl-inducing spot. However, regardless of the positioning, bending, inserting, twisting, thrusting and re-positioning, I could not enjoy this vibrator internally.

Its five insertable inches should be more than enough for a great deal of women, but I could have used just a tiny extra bit of length and perhaps a more drastic curve or firmer tip in order to successfully apply the right amount of pressure against my g-spot. While the Gracious did not work for me internally, I found it to be an exceptional clitoral stimulator. The curve of the shaft lends itself to be quite an ergonomic shape and because the vibrations are more intense towards the tip of the vibrator, while they are able to flow throughout the vibrator they are just a little bit more localized towards the tip, it makes holding it against your clitoris amazingly delightful.

While the Gracious isn’t everything I thought it would be, the power it has to provide intense clitoral orgasms surprised me and swept me off my feet and has become one of the first toys I break out when I’m in need of some lengthy, exhilarating foreplay. Though it takes just two AAA batteries, the intensity of the vibrations at their strongest setting is amazing and the slimness and overall design makes it intriguing for both newbies and seasoned experts. Even at its very strongest setting, the Gracious is extremely quiet, which is perfect for those of you with roommates, living in a dorm or have kids running about who could open the door to see what’s going on at even the slightest conspicuous noise.

Move Over, Rabbit Habit!

Serenity I really love my Rabbit Habit vibrator. I love it so much, in fact, that I have been through a few of them, always crawling back after the pearls jammed up or after their motors wore out. The Rabbit Habit has been my go-to vibrator since I got my first one and over the past few years, I hadn’t found anything else that provided me with the intense orgasms I have always been guaranteed to have with my Rabbit. That is, until I met the Serenity vibrator from Evolved, which thanks to Eden Fantasys, I was recently given the opportunity to review.

The Serenity is a rabbit-style vibrator that provides both vaginal and clitoral stimulation. What makes the Serenity a little different than a lot of other rabbit vibrators is that its shaft is angled slightly upward to provide direct G-spot stimulation, which is what had first attracted me to this vibrator–because what’s better than a dual-stimulating toy? Why, a dual-stimulating toy that hits your G-spot, of course!

When the Serenity arrived, I could hardly wait to get it out of the package, but when I opened it, I was very surprised–very pleasantly surprised, but surprised nonetheless–at what I saw.

Serenity package The Serenity showed up packaged in pretty much the most intricate and gorgeous metal tin I have ever seen a sex toy housed in. It is abundantly apparent that Evolved puts pride into not just the toys they create, but the entire experience they are creating for their customers. The metal tin contains raised lettering throughout; from the company name on the front of its see-through lid, to the company’s website on the side and even the tribal-like decoration on the back. The attention to detail is impeccable! To remove the lid, all you have to do is move the metal prongs that hold the lid on and it will come off easily. The Serenity itself lays inside a plastic casing so it won’t move and bang around. The tin makes a fantastic storage area and because of its great quality, it will last throughout the life of your toy.

This vibrator is 8 1/2 inches in total length, 5 inches insertable and is 5 1/4 inches in circumference. It is made of TPR and is phthalates and latex-free. It is also hypoallergenic, so if you’re one of many who has freaky allergies to certain materials that make your skin angry, you don’t have to worry about having a bad reaction because of this material. It is worth noting, however, that if you share your toys, sharing the Serenity may not be a good choice because TPR can harbor bacteria and with classic vibes and dildos, you should use a condom with them if you plan on sharing, but since it’s a little hard to get a condom to fit over a clitoral attachment, keeping this toy solely your own would be the best choice for the safest sex.

It has a very jelly-like feel to it and has a tendency to pick up every single piece of lint, hair and fiber that comes into contact with it. Because of this, you should give it a good cleaning with warm water and a mild soap or toy cleaner before and after every use. It can also feel a little grabby on your skin if you don’t use lube (water-based and silicone-based lubes are safe to use with this toy) or if you are not sufficiently aroused before you try to insert it. The good thing about this material, other than the fact that it is completely body-safe, is that it is flexible, giving you a little leeway in terms of moving it around to hit that perfect spot. Even with the amount of flexibility it has, the tip of the shaft is firm enough to provide enough pressure to your G-spot to make you melt.

What stands out just by looking at the Serenity is that it is not shaped like anything cute and there are no bunnies, smiling happy faces, dolphins or anything animal-like in sight. This is a very refreshing change and will welcome those who are generally creeped out by the cuteness factor embedded into many, many toys with open arms.

The shaft, as well as the non-animal, non-cute clitoral attachment is textured with swirls, but as far as them adding anything to the experience, I couldn’t really feel much of a difference in stimulation.

The Serenity takes two AA batteries that you insert by twisting off the bottom of the vibrator, which is made of plastic and feels like it may have a rubber cote. It is very easy to twist off and the bottom goes back on just as easily. There is a very simple push-button control located at the very bottom of the vibrator that you push to deliver three different intensities of vibrations. While the control is extremely easy, it may be a little too easy because I have accidentally turned the vibrator off when it was at its most intense in use, which to say the least, can become extremely frustrating.

There are two bullet-like vibes located in both the shaft as well as the clitoral attachment. I love that there are two separate vibes within the Serenity because you don’t have to sacrifice intensity in any area and since the control turns both vibes on simultaneously, this toy puts you in a win/win situation if you favor vaginal or clitoral stimulation. While this vibrator has more girth than most, at 5 1/4 inches in circumference, it is probably not the best toy for beginners or for those who cannot handle or who are not used to a toy that can really fill you up. However, it’s girth is yet another thing I love about this vibrator. It fills me and gives me some wickedly intense orgasms, but at the same time, it does not feel as if it is stretching me in any way. It can, however, make you a little sore if you’re using it to thrust or if you use it for a prolonged period of time.

The vibrations the Serenity provide are nothing short of intense. There are three levels of intensity and at its most intense, it surpasses the power of any rabbit-style vibrator I have had. It is also completely waterproof, making it your next favorite shower or bath time companion and the vibrations do not slow down or become less intense even while completely submerged. It’s waterproof feature also makes it extremely easy to clean because you don’t have to worry about keeping certain parts of the toy out of the water in fear of them becoming damaged or broken.

The Serenity not only measures up to my Rabbit Habit, but it has taken my dear old Rabbit’s place and better yet, is more than half the price of the Rabbit Habit. Coincidentally, the Serenity vibrator is part of Evolved’s ‘True Love’ collection and because the vibrations are anything but serene, the Serenity is a toy no one could not fall in love with. I wouldn’t be giving it enough credit if I said this vibrator is a must-have for any woman’s collection.

This Bunny Sure is Sexy

April 19, 2010 by Holly
Filed Under: Love & Sex, Sex Toy Reviews, Vibrators

I love my rabbit-style vibrators. Ever since I got my first Rabbit Habit, they have been my go-to vibrator; regardless of the amount of different types of toys I add to my collection, I always seem to keep going back to the rabbits. And why wouldn’t I? There is just so much to love about them. First of all, they’re dual stimulating, meaning you receive vaginal as well as clitoral stimulation–at the same time!–and nothing has compared to that intensity for me.

But for a creation that is so mind-blowingly good, I have had a couple of rather imperative problems with rabbit-style vibrators, such as pearls getting jammed, the closure for the battery compartment being loose and falling off during use and even just flat out dying. So when Babeland gave me the opportunity to review a rabbit-style vibrator that looked a lot different than most of the others; for one, no pearls that can get jammed and stop working over time, I jumped at the chance to review the Sexy Bunny.

Sexy Bunny rabbit-style vibrator

The picture above shows exactly what the Sexy Bunny packaging looks like. It comes in a cardboard box and is set in a casing to keep it from moving all over the place and potentially breaking while in the box. Because of the casing, you can keep your Sexy Bunny stored in the same box it comes in, without having to worry about purchasing additional soft pouches or storage containers for safe and sanitary keeping.

Sexy Bunny rabbit-style vibrator

The Sexy Bunny measures at 5 inches insertable length and is 1 1/3 inches in circumference. It is a very bright pink and shaped unmistakenably like a rabbit, right down to the ears along the back of its shaft, two little eyes, a huge smile and its little circular tail on its back. The clitoral attachment is shaped, again, just like a miniature bunny, although not etched with half of the excitement the sculpted shaft is glowing with. I also thought the gathering of the silicone material at the base of the shaft of the vibrator was a little different. It looks exactly like a condom that had been rolled onto the shaft, although a little more exaggerated than what we see in reality.

The battery compartment is located at the bottom of the Sexy Bunny and is shiny, metallic silver. To insert the four AAA batteries, you must twist off the closure at the very bottom of the vibrator and inside there, this is a small closure that can be a little tricky to maneuver at first, but once you get it, you should be fine. It closes with a tiny spring and has a lever you must pull back and it will pop right open. While it did take some brain power to understand how to pop off the inside closure and get it back on correctly, it’s a great way to keep your batteries safe and secure, especially when you completely submerge it in water, because that’s right, this vibrator is completely waterproof. The controls are also located at the base of the vibrator on a raised platform for optimum reach no matter what position you’re in.

The Sexy Bunny is made of silicone and contains mechanical aspects, so be sure to only use mild soap and warm to hot water for cleaning between uses. If you use lube with silicone toys, make sure you are using water-based lubricant because using silicone-based lubricant will corrode your toy and that would be sad.

Sexy Bunny rabbit-style vibrator

The push-button controls on the Sexy Bunny are one of the easiest I’ve ever come across. There are separate controls for the shaft that rotates, as well as for the bunny clitoral stimulator that vibrates. One of the most obvious things you’ll realize is that the Sexy Bunny is missing the tumbling pearls or beads that have become a staple among rabbit-style vibrators. While this does take a little away from the sensations felt around the vaginal opening, it also relieves some stress that I have had with other rabbit-style vibrators when it comes to pearls or beads that jam and don’t work anymore. When it comes down to it, we can have a vibrator that is missing tumbling pearls completely or a vibrator where the tumbling pearls get jammed and don’t work anyway.

The push-button on the left will turn the function on and the button on the right will increase the speed of the rotating shaft or the intensity of the vibration of the clitoral attachment; each function has a different push-button so you have complete control over what you are feeling and when and each function has two speeds, low and high. The only problem I had with the push-button controls was that in the heat of the moment, I got a little confused as to what button changed the intensity level of the clitoral stimulator and of course pushed the wrong button and have also accidentally turned it off a few times.

Sexy Bunny rabbit-style vibrator

As I already mentioned, the Sexy Bunny has two very long ears extending along its back, as well as a small sphere of a bunny tail. While these are definitely textured to the touch, I didn’t notice them causing different or textured-feeling sensations. However, there is no debate on the cuteness of this detail, because I just couldn’t get over it and was even showing it to my partner all excited about the attention to detail seen on this vibe.

Sexy Bunny rabbit-style vibrator

Hands down, the very best thing about the Sexy Bunny is the head of its shaft. While it is meant to be the bunny’s nose and mouth and may be initially dismissed by those who see the cuteness factor alone, while it is cute, it is also the most intense part of this vibrator and the power this shape has is literally astounding. It is shaped and sculpted to resemble the head of a realistic penis and as you can see, it does just that and feels even better. In fact, because of its superb shape, I found that I felt even more and enjoyed more of the shaft without the rotating function on and most of the time, didn’t bother to turn it on at all because of how downright amazing the shape is.

Sexy Bunny rabbit-style vibrator

Sadly, I cannot be as enthusiastic as I am about shaft of the Sexy Bunny as I am about the little bunny clitoral attachment. When I first took it out of the packaging, I noticed that it was a little flimsy and started playing with how much give it has and how much pressure could be put on it. Turns out it’s pretty resilient and there’s no worry about it falling or tearing off, but perhaps it is the construction of the bunny’s more rounded, clown-like nose or the same soft, velvet-like feeling that also covers the shaft of the vibrator that doesn’t give it that same strong, deep-down gratifying feeling other clitoral attachments have.

Or perhaps my problem with the clitoral attachment is its lack of power. Actually, the whole vibrator has a lack of power, but because I love the shape of the shaft so much, I didn’t use the rotating function so much. The clitoral vibration, however, is a must when it comes to dual-stimulators and I’m expecting it to, well, stimulate. The Sexy Bunny could be a great rabbit-style vibrator for someone who cannot handle such an intense vibration, but for the average vibrator user who knows what they like, this cute guy just doesn’t rank. The one good quality I have seen with this is that when you are intensely sensitive right after an orgasm and after the intensity washes over you, usually you can’t handle much stimulation around your clitoris at all, but this vibrator has such a low intensity that it feels good and can even make an orgasm last a little longer; that is, if you are able to achieve one with the lack of intensity in the first place. What I did like about this vibrator was the fact that even though it isn’t terribly powerful, it does not lose an ounce of its power when you turn on both the rotating function and the clitoral vibration, even when completely submerged in water.

While I wasn’t thrilled with the Sexy Bunny, I would love to see this same shaft without the clitoral attachment. I think the Sexy Bunny vibrator is actually the dildo I have always wanted.
