Cheerios Circle of Helping Hearts and Freshwater Pearl Bracelet Giveaway! (Closed)

Cheerios Circle of Helping Hearts Coronary heart disease is the number one cause of death in women. This disease is highly preventable, a major controllable factor is high cholesterol, yet a great deal of women have limited access to adequate health care, making it very difficult for them to get regular cholesterol screenings and putting them at an even greater risk for heart disease.

A recent study conducted by Harris Interactive for Cheerios found that more than one-third of adults (approximately 37%) have not had their cholesterol checked within the past year. With the state of our economy crumbling, less and less women are paying attention to their heart health or may not even know that they are at risk for coronary heart disease. If these women were able to get the cholesterol screenings they need, we would see the number of heart disease-related deaths in women drop dramatically.

Now through January 31, 2010, Cheerios is helping women in need through its partnership with WomenHeart. On the inside of every specially marked boxes of Cheerios, a code is printed on the inside. For every code entered at Cheerios Helping Hearts, Cheerios will donate $1, up to $200,000 to raise awareness for heart disease and provide free cholesterol screenings for women in need who could not otherwise afford to receive cholesterol screenings.

    I think it is the best for use to do regular medical check up twice per year to make sure we are clean from any type of diseases like this right?

    I am limited on what I can do as I have Rheumatoid Arthritis and have very little cartilage left in one of my knees, so I ride an stationary cycle a couple times a week and do water aerobics a couple times a week to help keep me active. Plus I also try and watch what I eat and stay away from high fat or fried foods.

    I make sure to eat plenty of grains. I eat a bowl of vereal such as Cheerios or a bowl of oatmeal for breakfast. I also try to get plenty of exercise by walking 5 times a week.
