Diving head first into &quot;no sugar&quot; or &quot;vigorous exercise&quot; is a sure fire path to burn out.  

I didn&#039;t stop smoking cold turkey and I didn&#039;t start exercising all at once.  However, over the course of more than a year, I stopped smoking, started eating right and exercising AND lost 80 lbs.  Those 80 pounds, by the way, were ALL accumulated from diving head first into a stupid diet and then falling off the wagon and gaining the 20 pounds back I lost plus 5 or 10 more.</description>
