    I love using canned tomatoes — 1 each of the plain & spiced variety — in my slow cooker taco soup recipe. I used to use condensed tomato soup, but using the diced tomatoes results in much better texture and flavor.

    homemade vegetable soup; once the meat has cooked down, the vegis have simmered for a couple hours then add the tomatoes & sauce allow to cook down, adding the spices to your taste. Yum
