There is never a bad time for a scary movie marathon, but in the week leading up to Halloween it is a tradition of ours that isn’t taken lightly. After re-watching the classics no Halloween season should be without — “Night of the Living Dead”, “The Bad Seed”, and of course, “Hocus Pocus” — we go on a hunt for all the new releases and set our DVR and queue up Netflix for night after night of heart-pounding, mind-bending thrills.
If you’re looking for a new movie perfect for Halloween, you’ll be excited to know that “The Devil’s Hand” is out now on iTunes, video on demand, and in select theaters.
The new horror film starring Rufus Sewell (“Dark City”), Jennifer Carpenter (“Dexter”), and Adelaide Kane (The CW’s “Reign”), is guaranteed to serve up shocking thrills and chills this Halloween season.
When six girls are born on the sixth day of the sixth month to different mothers in the small, devout village of New Bethlehem, an ancient prophecy is set in motion — on their 18th birthday one of the girls will become the Devil’s Hand. As the day approaches and one by one the young girls begin to disappear, terror overtakes the quiet community and the remaining girls band together to uncover who or what is behind these treacherous acts.
If you’re planning a creepy Halloween get-together, make it a Prophecy Party. All you need is five friends and a copy of “The Devil’s Hand.” You can find the Prophecy Party Player’s Guide in the app above (or download it here) that will take care of all the details of your gathering, including “The Devil’s Hand” party games and activities and recipes for Devil’s Food Cake, Deviled Eggs, and Devil’s Blood Punch.
