They recently banned lawn and garden pesticides and herbicides in my city. Although my lawn doesn’t look as good now at least I know all those chemicals aren’t leaching into the ground water.

I haven’t tried that product, but I have tried a few of the others mentioned here. Here’s what I learned. The organic weed killer using iron needs either a heavy wetting, or a double dose, to be even slightly effective. Another way to dry them out is concentrated vinegar. You can freeze-concentrate the store stuff – remove 1/2 the water as ice. It didn’t work with the tough weeds, though, even concentrated.

This is a great article and I love how it goes into a “Energy save mode”. This is a great way to ensure the continual existence of the human race. There is also a huge following of green roofs. What is green roof? It is basically what the name implies. It is a roof that is green…haha. You basically have a roof that you grow greens in. It helps save “green” by lowering your monthly heating or cooling bills. You can Google it and see how much of a following it has.

Thsnks for sharing the Nature’s Avenger product. I used to use one of the poisonous herbicides around my flower beds, but a few years ago switched to a vinegar and salt combination to kill weeds.

I have a lot of respect for companies that sell all natural organic products, that are conscious about product safety and are knowledgeable about the endless benefits of using pure ingredients from nature. The other day I was using a dead sea soap bar, which has all sorts of essential oils and plant butters, but it also has real dead sea mud and walnut husk for exfoliation. My skin has never felt better after using it. The best part about natural bath and body products is that the scents are totally natural, subtle but give off amazing aroma, which you cannot compare to products that use synthetic fragrances. I wish there were more all natural products out there and hope that one day they will replace all the shelve products we find in stores.

I’ll have to look for that product here in Canada. I need something for my roses and veggies. Going green in the garden just makes sense and I’m sure more people will get into it with education. Personally I usually look homemade solutions. If I can mix my own earth friendly solution than I do. Not sure what to use for my current garden problems though.

Great post! There’s another environmentally safe weed killer that works great–Salt Water. That’s right, just pour a healthy amount of salt in a bucket of warm water and spray it on your weeds. They’ll wither within a week…and it’s environmentally safe!
