When it comes to eating well, I have never had any issues with digging into a helping (or two) of vegetables. I have always really enjoyed eating my veggies. As a kid, I practically lived on green beans alone, and they are still one of my top favorite foods of all time. Green beans, broccoli, cauliflower, carrots, I love them all. I love them and can (and have) eaten bowls of them alone, either raw with a side of dip for a quick snack, or combined and steamed for a mid-day meal. It’s safe to say that I love my veggies, and the green giant and I are very well-acquainted. We’re buddies; we go way back, and he recently let me in on a giant surprise — new Green Giant Veggie Snack Chips.
I’ll be the first to come out and say it: when I think of Green Giant, I think of vegetables. All sorts of vegetables: fresh, fresh-frozen, canned; just vegetables. I never thought of chips, not even veggie chips, and I don’t think many other people would either. This is precisely why you need to try them. Really, you need to.
I am a big snacker, but I don’t hunt down the chips even remotely close to as much as my fiance does. He is the chip-lover in this house, and at any given moment, we have a couple bags of tortilla and potato chips of various flavors in the cupboard. As for me, I have never really been into chips. I’ll eat tortilla chips if I make my oh-so-good 7-layer Mexican dip, but other than that, just no. However, I can confidently say that I am now a Green Giant Veggie Snack Chip kind of girl. They are so good, and so unlike the other chips that so frequently reside in my kitchen.
I was recently able to try the new Green Giant Roasted Veggie Tortilla Chips with Zesty Cheddar flavor and the Green Giant Multigrain Sweet Potato Chips with Sea Salt. They are both delicious, but my fiance and I each have our own favorites.
I was honestly pretty weary about trying the Green Giant Roasted Veggie Tortilla Snack Chips. They look identical to another popular cheese-coated tortilla chip — a tortilla chip I cannot stand. My fiance, on the other hand, loves them. Within minutes of them being out of the box in which they came, the bag of Green Giant Snack Chips were opened and had already begun to make their way to his mouth.
I can report that Green Giant Roasted Veggie Tortilla Snack Chips smell and taste infinitely better than those other, inferior chips. I actually liked them, although my fiance did like them more and they were gone pretty quickly.
I love sweet potatoes, so naturally I was much more excited about trying the Green Giant Multigrain Sweet Potato Snack Chips with Sea Salt. Oh my goodness, you guys. They are delicious. The sweet potato is immediately apparent, and the hearty taste is somewhat magically balanced perfectly by the pinch of sea salt. After eating my first handful (or two; okay three, because we’re all friends here) I had to actually make myself stop. It was definitely one of those ‘you really need to take these away from me or something involving the word ‘binge’ will be occurring’ situations.
And then I just couldn’t help myself.
The very next night while relaxing in front of the television, I ate half the bag of chips. In one sitting. I just keep eating them. Every single one of those chips was more delicious than the last. But let’s look at the bright side: they have 40% less fat than regular potato chips. Besides, they are way too delicious to feel guilty about anyway.
