Green Giant Broccoli & Cheese Sauce Boxed Vegetables Prize Pack Giveaway (Closed)

This giveaway is now closed.

Green Giant broccoli & cheese sauce Well all know how important it is to eat healthy foods throughout the day and one way to do that is to incorporate vegetables into our lunches and/or dinners every day. It isn’t always easy to make sure we’re picking out the right vegetables at the store, so when all else fails, I do go to the frozen food aisle to pick out vegetables that were frozen within mere hours–or less–from the time they were picked.

One brand I go to quite a bit is Green Giant and through MyBlogSpark, I was given the opportunity to try out a box of their broccoli & cheese sauce frozen vegetables. You may think that cheese smothered-vegetables aren’t the healthiest route to go, but in addition to being really good–really, really good–they are 60 calories per serving and endorsed by Weight Watchers, possessing a 2 PointsPlus value per serving.

I have tried a few different brands of frozen vegetables with a cheese sauce and when you take them out of the freezer, the cheese is in these chips that are meant to melt when you put them in the microwave for a few minutes. On a number of occasions, these chips have not melted and after putting them back in the microwave, you run a great, big chance of overcooking the vegetables. This is not good. However, I am happy to be able to say that Green Giant broccoli & cheese sauce frozen vegetables do not contain these miraculous, impossible to melt cheese chips.

The Green Giant broccoli & cheese sauce frozen vegetables are contained within a plastic bag that you simply cut a small slit in and microwave for 5 minutes. In those 5 minutes, when you take the bag out of the microwave, it is completely cooked and the cheese is melted thoroughly. It is a little difficult to get the vegetables out of the plastic bag, so you will definitely want to have scissors handy to cut the bag open and then a spoon to get the cheese sauce out of the bag because it definitely sticks.

Overall, I was really happy with the quality of the vegetables, how thoroughly the cheese was melted through the vegetables and they tasted really great.

Green Giant has a really extensive selection of both frozen and canned vegetables. In addition to the broccoli & cheese sauce, the frozen boxed vegetable collection includes cauliflower & cheese sauce, honey glazed carrots, baby sweet peas & butter sauce and a series of Simply Steam vegetable flavors.

You can also get new recipes right from Green Giant by visiting their website and if you’re planning on picking up a box of Green Giant frozen vegetables, get a coupon for 50 cents off any box.

I “sneak” in veggies wherever I can to my recipes. Veggies by themselves don’t get eaten as easily as they do when mixed in with something else.
