Happy Halloween!

It’s Halloween, guys! I love Halloween, as I have repeated numerous times here in the last few weeks. I can’t help it; Halloween just makes me totally and completely happy. I have never been someone who has the capability of tapping into that child-like sense of pure excitement and giddiness. A lot of people tend to feel consumed with those feelings during the holiday season, but Halloween is what has always been able to do it for me.

My fiance went all out for Halloween this year. He is a professional musician and he played a show last weekend with a Halloween theme. They even had a Halloween costume contest to get people to have fun and dress in costume for the show. Everyone in his band dressed as 80′s glam rockers, and here is what we put together:

What is most impressive is the fact that he did his own makeup, and I swear, he has better makeup skills than I do on my best day. Granted, he did watch a ton of makeup tutorials on YouTube prior to doing his.

This is the second year my fiance has dressed up for Halloween and it’s safe to say that he is now on a rather flamboyant trend. Last year he was a sexy wonderland cat, per my repeated pleas for him to put on a costume that was several sizes too big for me. He wasn’t thrilled about it, but he is a great sport.

As for me, I’m rocking my skeleton hoodie that I have had (and worn often) since the beginning of 9th grade:

Also, some very festive Halloween socks with Jack-o-Lanterns and candy corn:

I have already begun my scary movie-watching, which is the main attraction of my Halloween celebrating. Last night, I watched one of my favorite movies of all time (Halloween and otherwise), Night of the Living Dead, followed by Friday the 13th parts 1 and 2 on AMC Fearfest. Right now, I am watching The Ward on Netflix Instant Streaming, most likely to be followed by the several movies I have recorded to my DVR in the last few weeks in preparation for tonight, including Trick ‘r Treat, a horror comedy that I have not seen before (shocker!) and am very much looking forward to.

  • You both look great :-) We did our usual trick or treat thing with the kidlets, home to traditional chili and cornbread and a funny/scary movie for the younger kids, an gross/scary movie for the older ones later on. We’ll be celebrating All Saints & All Souls as well, so our “All Hallow’s” isn’t quite over yet!

I was sorry not to get to enjoy the holiday this year (it can be fun if you just let go!), but know next year with my little munchkin should be even more entertaining!!!
