There are some particularly unique ornaments that adorn our Christmas tree. A tradition in my family is that each year for Christmas my aunt gets everyone a new ornament. She has always succeeded in finding the perfect ornament that compliments everyone’s personalities or features something that that person is into. In the last few years, my fiance and I have received ornaments like a very stylish guitar that plays “Jingle Bell Rock” and hangs by a guitar strap (him) and a vibrantly-colored frog covered in sparkly green glitter with legs that dangle and sway about two inches below the rest of his body (me). I also have quite a few ornaments that were handmade by my great-grandmother and handed down to me by my grandmother, such as a grey mouse wearing a bonnet. How does one even think to make a Christmas ornament that is a mouse and then decides to craft a bonnet around its head? My great-grandmother, apparently.

Obviously, I am a huge fan of unique Christmas tree ornaments. In my book, the more uncommon, intriguing, and worthy of a second look, the better. You can’t get much more distinctive than when you get into personalized home decor items, so when I heard from Personal Creations as the holiday season was approaching, I immediately looked for an ornament that would be a perfect addition to our Christmas tree this year. I found the Hugs and Kisses Snowman Couple ornament and it is absolutely adorable!

Made of thick ceramic and coated with enough gloss that it shines from every angle, this ornament pleasantly surprised me with its quality and level of detail. I really like how the buttons of the snowman on the left curve around the O in the “XOXO” the snowmen are placed on top of. I also really like how the hat of the snowman on the right has a small heart and polka dot pattern going around it. It’s the little things that make something stand out, and the little things in this ornament are very cute.

Obviously it is personalized with me and my fiance’s names and has the year printed on a small peppermint candy attached to the bottom of the O on the right side. Another example of just a little extra attention to detail!

I was most excited about the Hugs and Kisses Snowman Couple ornament because this year will be me and my fiance’s first Christmas in our own home, which we moved into last February. Having a special ornament marked with the first year we lived in our home and had our first Christmas in is something that we will remember each year when we take this ornament out of the Christmas box and put it on our tree.
