I received the Jimmyjane Form 3 for review. No other incentive was provided and opinions are my own.

Jimmyjane Form 3

The sex toy world could be considered an overcrowded one. With so many different companies putting their own twists on classic toys we’ve seen countless times before while hoping that they are unique enough to garner attention, companies that are actively thinking outside the box and coming up with unique ways to deliver pleasure to the people who use their products does not go unnoticed. That is primarily what drives me to continue to watch Jimmyjane.

Jimmyjane has been around since 2004. In that time, they have come out with toys that by appearance alone, boggle the mind. The toys of their Form series have continuously made me wonder what one is supposed to do with it, silently wondering if I have been doing masturbation wrong all of these years. I recently got to check out the latest in this toy series, the Jimmyjane Form 3.

The Form 3 is an incredibly weird vibrator, in shape as well as in function. It is a toy rooted in second-guessing what you’re doing, and has been since I received it, packaged in a cardboard box with Jimmyjane box art and pictures of the toy that I would find inside, as well as a breakdown of its features and how it works.

The four-inch, oblong-shaped external vibrator is completely body-safe, as is the case with all Jimmyjane luxury toys. The entire body of the toy is made of medical grade, phthalate-free platinum silicone that is soft to the touch. The top of the toy looks kind of like a scoop. It has a thin membrane-like portion of flexible silicone surrounded by a thick wall that feels like cartilage. The bottom portion is solid, internally packed with a rechargeable lithium polymer battery.

The intended use of the Jimmyjane Form 3 is to amplify touch. Ideally, you place your index finger against the thin, membrane-like wall, which you can feel poking through the other side, to direct powerful vibrations to your clitoris or labia with pinpoint accuracy. In execution, this doesn’t work out so well.

I never would have thought that simply pressing my finger up against a thin piece of silicone would be so taxing, but it really was. Soon after just beginning to use it, I had a cramp creeping up to my wrist and all I wanted was to give my hand a break. It is oddly shaped, it is uncomfortable, and it has too many expectations.

Fun fact: It seems as if everyone who has ever written or talked about the Form 3 is in agreement that it resembles a large, disembodied tongue. Even stranger is that fact that the Jimmyjane Form 2 resembles a mutant-sized tooth. But the comparisons between the Form 3 and a tongue end there. Full stop. It does not, nor will it ever come close to resembling the feeling of a tongue or the sensation of receiving oral sex. This toy has been touted as a comparison repeatedly, but I am just not having it. The Form 3 simply feels like a vibrator, which makes sense because that is exactly what it is.

While using the Form 3 in the way it is intended to be used didn’t work out so well for me, I have been able to achieve orgasm with it by using the tip of the vibrator against my clit and around my inner labia. No finger-flexing action needed. After numerous attempts with this toy, this is the one and only method of use that has brought about favorable results.

Speaking of vibrating… the vibrations of the Form 3 are just powerful enough. They aren’t earth shattering, but they are about the same intensity that you would get from a toy operating off of two AA batteries. Of course with the Form 3, you won’t have to worry about batteries, since it is rechargeable. The toy comes with a white Jimmyjane base. Just plug the base into the wall and place the Form 3 onto the base. When the toy registers, it will light up to let you know that it’s charging. When completely drained, the Form 3 will charge for about two hours for seven hours of use per charge.

The controls of this vibrator are very simple to use. To turn it on, press the + button on the front of the toy. It will turn on with a steady vibration on low. To make the vibrations more intense, continue pressing the + symbol, to decrease the intensity, press the – symbol. There are five levels of intensity and four vibration modes that can be changed by pressing the small circular button below the settings pad.

Since this is the first Jimmyjane toy I have had the chance to try out, I didn’t have many expectations of it going in. The only preconceived idea I had about this toy, and about the Jimmyjane Form series, is that the products looked interesting and unique and… mind-boggling. It lived up to all of those ideas, and while I’m content with the fact that I have been able to enjoy it, even if it was just in my own way and not the way this toy was created to perform, I don’t think its $139 price tag is worth the simple quelling of my curiosity.

  1. Good review. 🙂 The Form 3 and I didn’t get along. I just felt so let down when I was expecting something that would just add vibrations to my regular finger use. It does work as an interesting tongue-shape though.

  2. Haha, your review has some EERIE SIMILARITIES to mine. I am also confused by all comparisons to oral sex, especially in reviews, because yeah — it’s just a vibrator. And in a way, I’m glad your hand cramped/hurt too, because some people think I am just doin’ it wrong when I say that I don’t have the energy to hold the membrane down. Bros for life.

    1. Eerie similarities? Oh goodness no. I purposely don’t read reviews of toys I’m in the process of reviewing because of words/phrases/points getting stuck in my head and not wanting them to come out in my review. I’ve read tons of reviews of the Form 3 before I got it, of course, because I read a lot of reviews, but none from the time I received the Form 3 until this review went up. Moving on, I swore I had to be doing something wrong because of my finger/wrist reacting the way it did. I tried over and over again to “do it right”, watching the video repeatedly and just, no. It was not happening. I chalked it up to having absolutely no muscle mass whatsoever in my hand/arm. I’m a weakling. That, and when I’m masturbating, I really don’t want to have to work so hard at it. I want the vibrator to have “super powers”, not give my hand something else to do.
