My McCafe Experience
As a coffee enthusiast, to say the least, not to mention a caffeine addict, it shocks even me to say that I had not tried McDonald’s McCafe coffees until just a few days ago.
Since McDonald’s was so bold to elude to Starbucks in a commercial I saw when McDonald’s launched the McCafe, telling women that we no longer had hang out at swanky, high class coffee shops in order to get a high quality espresso and steamed milk beverage, I have been intrigued. As an added bonus, while it’s not much of a price difference, I like the idea of paying $3 and a few cents rather than the $5 and some cents I’d drop at Starbucks. So after opting to snack on some McDonald’s the other night, I ordered a mocha, eager to see if their coffee lived up to the hype they created.
I have had McDonald’s regular coffee on quite a few different occasions and was never to thrilled with it, I was happy to discover that they do better with an espresso and steamed milk combination. While their coffee wasn’t incredible and it wasn’t on the same level with my coffee establishment of choice, Dunkin Donuts, it was pretty strong and kept me up for quite longer than I had expected to be awake for. If you need coffee really fast or in a pinch, I would definitely recommend the mocha from the McCafe. Whether you’re on your commute to work, need an afternoon pick me up, or if you’re a chronic insomniac like myself and like your coffee fast, strong, and at three in the morning, the McCafe will suit your needs just fine.

Their mocha’s don’t live up to my expectations. However, their iced coffee’s do. Weird.

I’ve tried most of McD’s coffee offerings and the iced coffee was the only one I thought tasted somewhat good. I ordered a large and it was a little too big, even for me. Still, $3 is a lot to pay for a mocha, you could make one @ home for a lot less.

I have heard that Starbucks went bankrupt or has many branches throughout America was closed because of the recession that is happening lately. Hope that this recession will end.

McDonald’s mocha really isn’t all that bad, but it costs way too much considering that it’s from McDonald’s.
