Michelle Williams will be portraying Marilyn Monroe in the 2011 upcoming film My Week With Marilyn. The film is an account of 7 days Marilyn Monroe spent in Britain with Colin Clark, a writer and producer who had been united with Monroe while worked as a lowly assistant on the set of The Prince and the Showgirl. Clark had published his diary 40 years later, the week he spent with Monroe was missing from his diary, but was published many years later. During that week, Monroe was said to be desperate to get away from the limelight of Hollywood and the pressures of her work and this film will show what she and Colin Clark did during that week.

Trademark Films and The Weinstein Company have announced that principal photography has started on My Week With Marilyn and the first image has already been released, and it’s what everyone who is excited about this film wants to see–Williams in character as Marilyn Monroe.
