Natural Homemade Beauty Recipes for Stress Relief
Stress is something we all go through in our lives; sometimes in abundance. Whether it’s family life, you or your loved one’s health, your home, your job, or the countless other responsibilities we just can’t seem to say no to, stress seeps into our lives and sometimes downright refuses to let go until it has taken us as far down as we think we can possibly go.
Sometimes we would like nothing more than to step into a spa and be pampered throughout the afternoon. I know that in my super small town of less than 600 people I would like to have a full-service spa in the vicinity just so I could have the option of walking into their establishment and being swept into the back and put into a magnificent tub while someone applied seemingly magic chemicals to my face that would be washed away 20 minutes later, along with every worry and ounce of stress from my day. But even if there were such an establishment here, I know I wouldn’t walk through their doors as often as I would like because, dammit, those services are expensive!
So if you’re like me and find yourself often fantasizing about face scrubs and milk baths, here are 7 super easy beauty recipes you can effortlessly make at home, perhaps after a trip to the grocery store, that will eliminate your troubles, your worries and your stress–at least for the time being.
Relaxing Foot Soak
You will need:
Directions: Fill a basin with warm water and add the Epsom salts and tea bags. Soak feet for 30 minutes. |
Papaya Face Mask
You will need:
Directions: Blend all the ingredients together. Smooth mask on to face and leave on for 5 to 10 minutes. Rinse off with warm water. |
Fresh Strawberry Mask
You will need:
Directions: Mix together all ingredients until smooth using a fork or blender. Spread over your face and neck and let sit for 20 minutes. Rinse with cool water and pat skin dry. |
Honey Hair Pack
You will need:
Directions: Massage the honey into your hair and leave on for 15 to 20 minutes. You may cover your head with a plastic shower cap or a warm towel. Rinse your hair well with warm water. |
Old Fashioned Bubble Bath
You will need:
Directions: Mix together all ingredients. To use, pour the entire mixture under the running water as you draw your bath. |
Rosemary Body Treatment
You will need:
Directions: Steep rosemary in a bowl of boiling water for 30 minutes. While your bath water is running, use a dry brush or loofah over your entire body to get rid of dead skin. Strain the rosemary-infused water into a jug or bowl and add the Epsom salts and oil. Stir thoroughly and pour into bath water. To complete this wonderful brew, drop in lavender oil. |
“Me-Time” Facial Massage
You will need:
Directions: Mix together the facial oil and lavender and warm a few drops between your hands, cupping them over your nose and take three deep breaths. To massage: |

For the woman who is on her feet day in and day out, here is a great way to detox and relax.
This face mask is said to help reduce wrinkles and make your face look less stressed, which is a huge help for a lot of us walking around with the stress of the day all over our faces.
If there’s one person who I think can talk to you about stress-induced blemishes, it’s me. I thought I was lucky when I was in high school and didn’t have a single pimple on my face. As an adult, I wish I had a face full of acne when I was a teenager because being a 24-year-old woman with stress-induced acne is pretty horrendous. This fresh strawberry mask will combat these blemishes. Strawberries are rich in salicylic acid. Plus, this mark is edible!
The thought of putting honey in my hair has always struck me as a bit odd and, well, sticky. Turns out that honey does amazing things for your hair. It is a natural humectant, meaning it attracts and holds in moisture. Also, it is said that honey does rinse very easily out of your hair.
Who doesn’t love a relaxing, soothing bubble bath? This recipe has some rather weird ingredients, but the sugar and egg whites condition skin and also add to the bubbly effect.
Rosemary invigorates your mind and restores your well-being. This body treatment will also do away with all that dry skin taking over your body.
Give yourself a pick-me-up and leave yourself and your skin rejuvenated with a simple facial massage you can perform on yourself.
