What You Didn’t See During Oprah’s Interview with Sarah Palin

Sarah Palin appeared on Oprah on Monday. She talked about her marriage and life in Wasilla, Alaska, about being “tapped” by John McCain to run as vice-presidential candidate, her trials and tribulations on the campaign trail and her interviews with Katie Couric, who she dubs as the “perky one.” They also spoke about Bristol and her pregnancy, how she feels about Levi Johnston today and much more. We also got to see a side of Sarah Palin that we were not already familiar with, being a mom as she shares some moments with youngest son Trig, working out and taking her daughter Piper trick-or-treating.

But there are some outtakes from the interview that we didn’t get to see, such as why she wrote her new book Going Rogue, especially regarding the fact that many have said that she needs to stop talking publicly about her life and keep her private life private, since during her vice-presidential run she was constantly speaking about how much she hates the media and how they portrayed her during that time. The clips not shown include her speaking about what was being reported by bloggers around the world about her time as Governor of Alaska, such as how she supposedly banned books from appearing in Alaskan libraries, which she reports was not true. They also spoke about how she has journaled throughout her entire life, how during the 2008 campaign her emails were hacked and broadcast across the media and a lot more.

Here are those moments we didn’t get to see on Oprah:

I personally have lost all respect for this woman. Sarah Palin was elected by the people to govern her state. That is not a job to be taken lightly. I think it is a slap in the face to everyone in Alaska when she resigned from her job to focus on writing a book to pad her pockets. If the people elect you to govern them, you should be honored and do your duty to the best of your ability, not quit halfway through for your own benefit.

An excellent blog post! The internet
would be a better place if people could write as well as you.

I think this appears to be little more than a momentary disconnect between newsreader and news producer than a conscious attempt to mislead. I am sure that Fox News is more than aware that crowds are mainly gathering today at a mall in Michigan, where Palin is expected to appear, and not at some rally that Palin presided over today. Of course, the fact that Fox was caught manipulating footage in a misleading manner is only going to spur further suspicions when things like this happen.
