It is nearly time for March Madness. Before today, that meant absolutely nothing to me. I’m not going to lie, I know even less about basketball than I do about football; and I have on more than one occasion interchanged the word “attack” for “tackle,” so as a reference, that’s how much I know about football. Dollar General, however, turned my thinking right around. I am now delighted with March Madness because it has inspired the store to have their own little bit of fun this month with a new Facebook game that gives away valuable coupons!
Just by liking their Facebook page, you can play Dollar General’s Bracket of the Brands. Playing is easy: Choose one of two brands that you would like to receive a coupon for and answer three multiple choice questions that have to do with that brand. When I played, I chose a coupon for Ritz instead of Planters and was asked what the Ritz tagline was, what three imprints appear on Ritz crackers during different seasons of the year, and how many holes are in each cracker. Every time you get an answer right, the basketball in the animation screen makes it into the hoop; when you get an answer wrong, the basketball misses. What I like about this game is that regardless of how many questions you answer correctly, you still get a coupon at the end of your game.
Every week there will be a new game of Bracket of the Brands to play and new Dollar General coupons to score. To make sure you keep checking back, Dollar General will be increasing the value of the coupons every week saving you even more money on brands you love.
In addition to weekly coupon giveaways, Dollar General’s Bracket of the Brands is also giving basketball enthusiasts a chance to enter to win a grand prize trip for two to the 2013 NCAA Men’s Final Four.
The Bracket of the Brands Facebook game as well as the grand prize sweepstakes is only available until March 25th.
