Remington i-LIGHT Pro Professional at Home Hair Removal System Results #iLIGHTPro #ad

I participated in a campaign on behalf of Mom Central Consulting for Remington. I received a product sample to facilitate my review and as a thank you for participating.

Remington i-LIGHT Pro

Earlier this summer I wrote about the beginning of my journey to (hopefully) smoother legs and saying good riddance (for the most part) to razors that have been a constant part of my life since early adolescence. My ray of hope in the world of often annoying, sometimes painful removal of unwanted body hair below the neck? The innovative Remington i-LIGHT Pro, an Intense Pulsed Light hair removal system that promises professional hair removal results at home.

Having read many reviews of other IPL hair removal systems on blogs as well as retail websites in the last couple of years, most of which ranged from awful to somewhat scary, I was more than a little skeptical when I was asked to try the Remington i-LIGHT Pro over the course of the summer. The only reason I was the least bit hopeful that this may be the system that could actually deliver real results was the brand name. I own a few other products made by Remington, but they consist exclusively of hair styling products. Could the same brand that has armed me with the tools I need to groom and style my hair also help me remove the hair I didn’t want?

For some background on what the Remington i-LIGHT Pro is and how it works, read my first post about the beginning of my journey with the Remington i-LIGHT Pro.

Remington i-LIGHT Pro side

After using the Remington i-LIGHT Pro on my lower legs for six weeks now (three treatments every two weeks), I have noticed a change in the amount of hair growing back, but I haven’t had perfect results. I still need to shave, but to put things in perspective for you, before using the i-LIGHT Pro, I had to shave my legs every single day. After six weeks of IPL treatments, I’m only shaving once or twice a week.

I suspect that I haven’t had as effective of results because I have only used the i-LIGHT Pro on its lowest setting. As I mentioned in my first post, the system has five levels of intensity and I found the rubber band snapping sensation a little uncomfortable. Not unbearable by any means, or even painful, but uncomfortable. It gets better as you treat an area and get used to it, but that hasn’t stopped me from increasing the intensity. With that in mind, I think I could use just a couple more treatments before I see the kind of results that Remington claims I should be seeing.

Overall, the Remington i-LIGHT Pro has definitely freed up a lot of time that I had previously spent with razor in-hand, and I can’t tell you how great it feels to be rid of my daily shaving routine.

The Remington i-LIGHT Pro retails for $249.99 and is available at Amazon and iLIGHTPro.com.

Cartridges last for approximately two to three body treatments (including lower legs, bikini line, and underarms) and i-Light Pro replacement cartridges retail for $24.99.

  1. Great review! I will have to check out their site and see if it is safe for teens to use. I rarely have to shave, but my daughter is somehow super hairy and has to shave her legs every day. I think she, like you, would relish the opportunity to cut back on the daily maintenance.

  2. Great review indeed. I hate shaving and have been wanting to look into an at home laser hair removal option. Thanks for sharing this. I will add it to my short list!

  3. Such a thorough review! I’ve wondered how these home hair removal systems work. Thanks for sharing. I may take the plunge and get one of my own!

  4. I would love to never have to shave again! That would save so much time out of my beauty treatments! lol! This is great! Thanks for the review. I used to actually be scared of these thinking something horrible would be happening to my pores. Now I think I might like to try one!
