Rich Cronin of LFO Dies at 35
Rich Cronin, the lead singer of the ’90s boy band LFO, died Wednesday afternoon after a very long battle with leukimia. He died after suffering a stroke in the hospital–he was 35 years old.
Cronin had been battling acute myelogenous leukimia since 2005 and had been in remission several times. During his battle, he started the Rich Cronin Hope Foundation for Leukimia that is dedicated to the care, compassion and life enrichment of individuals and families impacted by leukimia. The foundation also encourages people to become blood donors and to register with the National Marrow Donor Program, the country’s most comprehensive list of volunteer bone marrow and stem cell donors.
LFO is responsible for the ’90s ear worm ‘Summer Girls’ that Cronin wrote. He also wrote the song ‘Girl on TV’ which was written about Jennifer Love-Hewitt–whom he also dated for a short time.
