This Thanksgiving, budding wordsmiths can be thankful for “WordGirl!”

Scholastic Media’s Emmy Award-winning animated TV series follows Becky Botsford, aka WordGirl, who combats poor grammar wherever she spots it. The whole gang is celebrating Thanksgiving with a special holiday episode that airs November 26 on PBS Kids.

The episode begins when Becky discovers that she will be sharing a Thanksgiving table at her house with one of her secret nemeses, Tobey. Before she knows it, he has unleashed Pilgrim-themed robots on the city — and it’s up to WordGirl to find a way to defeat him before the carving of the turkey!

Encapsulating the spirit of Thanksgiving, the show’s Word of the Month for November is GRATEFUL! and the festive new episode will reinforce the use of vocabulary words “reluctant” and “grateful.”
