Marijuana?

Our president-elect has smoked it. It is almost a rite of passage for america's youth. At least 12 states have decriminalized it.

I agree that if you have to get dogs to find marijuana there is a larger underlying problem with your parenting.

I support using dogs to find narcotics like meth, cocaine, etc.

It is great to hear all the varying opinions. Good Post!

I understand why parents might feel themselves forced to do this ... but I agree with you, it's a terrible invasion of privacy.

If I look at what is going on in terms of drugs in some of the schools here in South Africa, I think sniffer dogs can only help. Of course parents need to have an ongoing conversation with their kids about drugs, but these days that doesn't seem to be enough. I think this is a fairly painless way to make some progress.

Yea, talking to them first is probably the better idea. The sniff dogs are good for after the talk, so you can make sure that they don't have any secret stashes hidden around the house.
