As long as it might take some women to choose the perfect outfit for the day, it can sometimes take even longer to choose the right jewelry to accompany that perfect outfit. After all, how you pair your clothes and jewelry can say a lot about your sense of style and personal taste.
If you’re a woman who frequently fusses over her accessories, it would be well worth it to your future fashion goals to pick up a string (or two, or three) of classic pearls. Pearls are a classic and widely adored jewelry choice because they go with just about everything. When deciding whether or not pearls should be your jewelry choice of the day, here are three considerations to keep in mind.
- Consider Your Clothing: Will you be wearing slacks, a dress, or throwing on a pair of your favorite sweats for the day? Pearls might not be the right choice for rocking your pajamas, but they are fine for everything else, from your little black dress to a pair of jeans and a nice t-shirt.
- Consider the Event: Are you headed into work, going out on a date, or just meeting up with some of your girlfriends? Pearls are perfect for these occasions and more, though how you wear your pearls could be updated depending on where you’re going.
- Consider Your Taste: Are you a pearl girl? No one says you have to wear pearls just one way or in a style that you don’t think compliments you. If white isn’t your thing, you might be able to find some other options, perhaps in different colors or a piece that mixes different types of metals (this one by Bauble Bar is gorgeous!) Rest assured, pearls do look great on just about anyone. They have been able to withstand the test of time for a reason.
Once you’ve decided that pearls are your jewelry for the day, it’s time to choose the length of your necklace and whether to wear it solo or layered.

I love pearls. My mother used to have these pearls that I loved and kept asking her to borrow. She e gave me said no. Then she gave me my own set one Christmas. That New Years Even I put them on and my mother said they were too long for what I was wearing and I could borrow hers. WHAT? She said I couldn’t borrow them before because if anything happened she would have no pearls, but now that I had my own if anything happened she would just take mine.
