#PhotoaDayMay: Fun

#PhotoaDayMay: Fun

I admit that this is a bit of a cop out. Taking a picture depicting some fun activity and taking a picture of my computer screen with the band Fun. playing on Spotify are vastly different. However, nothing very fun occurred today, unless you count being so busy that I only had the chance to check comments here while at Best Buy playing with the Mac Books. I was originally there because my fiance’s computer decided to break a few days ago, which he needs for his work, requiring him to build an entirely new system. That has definitely not been fun, but since I was at Best Buy and all, I like to load Woman Tribune on the computers and iPads with the hope that someone will walk by the display …

Wordless Wednesday: All the Channels!

Wordless Wednesday: All the Channels!

A few weeks ago we had DIRECTV installed and set up at our house. This was a big deal. A huge deal, in fact, because cable television has long been classified as something we did not need, and because we didn’t need it, we didn’t spend money on it. The second part of that last sentence pretty much sums up how my partner and I have been managing our finances–and our lives–throughout the time we have been together.

I haven’t had cable television since I was a teenager and moved out on my own. That is a lot of years to be out of the entertainment loop! Sure, it just may be cable television, but it is something that we can afford to have now and that is a pretty great feeling. Also, I …

“The Voice” Season 2 Battle Rounds Week 2 Reactions [Videos]

“The Voice” Season 2 Battle Rounds Week 2 Reactions [Videos]

It was another week of battle rounds on The Voice Monday night, and every single one of my favorites from this season competed, including Charlotte Sometimes, who I didn’t list in my post of favorites because instead, I dedicated an entire post to her. This was a pretty exciting episode for me with an overall great outcome, considering the vast majority of the people I was rooting for made it through their battle rounds and will be in the upcoming live shows. Glad me and the judges are on the same page when it counts.

This isn’t to say that I don’t have any opinions on the specifics of what went down Monday night, because I do. Believe me, I do.

Christina Aguilera once again pitted her best vocalists …

Thanks for the Sickness, Spring!

Thanks for the Sickness, Spring!

I’ve mentioned it several times in posts here, in frequent updates on Twitter, and anyone who has spoken to me personally has heard all about it–I have been downright whining and complaining about the sporadic winter weather we’ve had in recent weeks. One day there would be several inches of snow on the ground, and the next, the sun would be shining, all of the snow would melt, hopes for spring to finally arrive–and stick around–would rise, only to wake up the next morning to more snow. This series of events was on repeat for weeks and I was pretty cranky about it.

Enter: a big, heaping dose of irony.

Throughout the past week we have had absolutely gorgeous weather. Temperatures in the mid-to-high 60′s, clear and beautiful blue skies, birds chirping and munching on birdseed at …
