I have been a Quentin Tarantino fan for quite a few years now, since I was first introduced to his films while in high school. Reservoir Dogs, Pulp Fiction, Four Rooms, the Kill Bill series–I could watch any and all of them repeatedly for the rest of my life and probably never get bored. So when I saw that the first trailer for his upcoming film Django Unchained had just been released, it took me about four seconds before I was watching it for the first time. Then I proceeded to watch it another three times.
With the help of his mentor (Christoph Waltz), a slave-turned-bounty hunter (Jamie Foxx) sets out to rescue his wife from a brutal Mississippi plantation owner.
While I am not one for usually getting into westerns, it’s safe to say that I am sufficiently excited about Django Unchained. Not only do we get over-the-top violence paired with retro music (it is a Quentin Tarantino film we’re talking about here), but we also have Leonardo DiCaprio, who I swear gets more and more talented in every film he is in. Also, while he is not seen in this trailer, Samuel L. Jackson is also in this film, which excites me to no end because Samuel L. Jackson is always, always cool.
Django Unchained will be released in US theaters on December 25th, Christmas Day. A heads up to all you people who usually have to spend Christmas with your in-laws, you now have a reason to leave the house, and it is sure to be awesome. You’re welcome.
Normally I wouldn’t go in for this type of movie but I think I too may look forward to checking it out.
I am a huge tarantino fan and can’t wait to see this movie!
