It is a bit of an icky topic to talk about. But telling the story about your first is always something fun to do and looking back is always a good thing.

Most of the women I know are now completely open to talk about this. Perhaps in the relatively short amount of time since this article was published, women have become more open and honest?

Every woman has periods and they are completely normal. Nothing to be ashamed about in the least. Every woman needs to buy sanitary products and it is no different to buying toilet roll and condoms.

I am a man I will and do buy tampons and pads for my partner, to me it's no different to buying toilet roll, and we all know what that’s used for. I suppose the point I'm trying to make is, these things are used for natural bodily functions, and should be openly discussed. So come on ladies don't be ashamed of your period, without it the whole human race would die out.

Honestly as a child when I first started having the talks with my parents and going through sex ed at school and everything. I was different from my friends they couldn't wait to get their periods. When we where told that exercising and such could postpone it I was already decently active but I worked out more often and joined more school sports as I got older to put it off. I didn't want it. And honestly I still get bothered by it. I don't know if it has something to do with my upbringing or things that happened during my childhood. But my step dad was always supportive and he was one of the few men I have known who had no problem picking up feminine nessesities for me when I needed them. Actually it was funny when I was with him to get them I would turn red and it was like buying milk for him it didn't seem to bother him at all.

This is the first time I have come across an article like this one. Great job for sharing! Why should we women be ashamed of our periods?
