Happy summer! While you and your family spend some much-deserved time soaking up the sun, it’s important to remember that summer must also be a time for learning. Education shouldn’t be on break just because the kids are, but have no fear because “WordGirl” is ready to save the day — and champion literacy, good grammar, and the pursuit of new vocabulary — all summer long!

Scholastic Media’s Emmy Award-winning animated TV series follows Becky Botsford, aka WordGirl, and her trusty sidekick Captain Huggy Face. This summer, the caped crusader and definition dynamo is flying onto screens from coast-to-coast flexing her crime-solving muscles in never-before-seen episodes, including a seasonal 4th of July episode.

  3. I can’t stress enough on the importance of doing something educational even during summer. It’s so difficult to get out of Brain Drain mode so it’s great that there’s World Girl that aids as learning tool that’s perfect for summer. I’ll check out those activity sheets.
