I have a lot of really great childhood summer memories: going to theme parks with my family, riding my bike in the alley behind my house with all of the other kids in the neighborhood who just so happened to be around my age and therefore became instant friends, playing Red Rover in the biggest yard on the block, known to every kid in the area as "Esther's Field" (the yard belonged to a very kind woman who loved kids named Esther, though as I later looked at her yard with adult eyes, it can hardly be called a field, but that's kid vision for you), playing flashlight tag as the sun went down, and running into my house to grab snacks before running right back out the door.
One snack in particular that was a staple of my childhood summers was Fla-Vor-Ice freezer pops. Ah, those sheets of connected plastic sleeves filled with so many different flavors of bright, colorful liquid. Simply freeze and later, enjoy while making awesome summer memories!
Fla-Vor-Ice was first introduced in 1969 and has been a trusted, reliable brand of freezer pops ever since. With over 40 years in the business of making kids smile, it's no wonder that those who enjoyed them as a kid, like myself, continue to be extremely loyal to the brand, making them a part of their kids' and grandkids' summer memories as well.
While you can find a reason to feel guilty about most summer treats, especially those that you give to your kids, Fla-Vor-Ice isn't one of them. Made with real fruit juice, containing about 5g of sugar per serving and 20 calories each, Fla-Vor-Ice is a mom-approved snack that can be enjoyed virtually anytime throughout the day–keeping kids hydrated and cool after sports games, at picnics, at the pool, or while running around outside with friends. You can also feel good about handing them out to the friends of your children as a refreshing snack since they are gluten-free and contain no major allergens.
What else makes Fla-Vor-Ice a mom-approved snack? We all know that limited sugar and low calories are important when it comes to light summertime snacks, but affordability and convenience also play their roles. I always feel great about buying Fla-Vor-Ice because I know they will last. Okay, they may disappear quickly, but at least I know that's because people are eating them. Fla-Vor-Ice never goes to waste, is what I mean. Even though you can buy them by the box-full, they are shelf-stable; because you don't buy them already frozen, you can stash some away in your pantry until you are ready to freeze and enjoy them. After freezing, Fla-Vor-Ice pops never get freezer burn. See? They last and last.
Summer is a magical time for any kid. It's a 3-month-long period that fills a kid's soul with giddiness and screams "freedom!" There is nothing I didn't love about summer as a kid, and while the season doesn't necessarily make me think of freedom anymore, being an adult and having responsibilities, work, and everything else that goes into being a functional adult, summer still fills me with giddiness, and Fla-Vor-Ice is still there, a staple in the summer memories I continue to make with my family.

I remember these from when I was a kid! We loved them!
Very cool! I have never heard of this brand but I sometimes feel guilty giving my kids freezies! I love that they are made with real fruit juice and that they NEVER freezer burn (pet peeve!)
My family LOVES those….husband included. We always keep a stash in the freezer, even in the winter. They are the best for eating after a hot day in the sun!
These bring back memories, I used to love these as a kid!
Oh we got through about a bag of these every other week in the summer—OUR house is the place to get a cool snack so one any given day there could be about 10 kids who want one.
These were a staple in our house every summer. I had forgotten about them until now. I will have to pick up a box next time I go to the store….
